Like it or lump it Schwartz has proved he can handle teens, allbeit slightly melodramatic ones but what teens aren't melodramatic (Gossip Girl and The O.C., which is my like it and lump it in order) and action (Chuck).

It should be...something at least :p

I just don't want 30 year old actors pretending to be 16 or whatever ridiculous age they're meant to be, sleeping around (but in the same circle of rich friends) and generally being rubbish.

X-Men is nothing to do with that. It's not just just "teens with powers!111".

This First Class just seems like a cash-in on Twilight.

As far as im aware Schwartz is a comic book nerd and I believe he is a fan of X-Men su undoubtedly he will have read them. I dunno, we'll see.

And this project has been in production since just after X3 came out :p

I have to say, as a person who despises High School Musical and all it stands for I went into 17 Again the other day expecting to hate Effron in it. And yet I was very, very impressed with him. I, just like Paj, saw him as a real actor rather than a knob who was in HSM. I found that I (amazingly) liked him as an actor. And yes, I left the cinema feeling unattractive, but frankly that's because the guy is freaking hot. I'm not afraid to admit that fact, he just is and I can appreciate that from a straight perspective (if you know what I mean). So yeah, I'd be willing to watch him in something else as long as it wasn't an awful script etc, and at least go into it with an open mind, if not expecting him to be good.

Yes, it is!

A drama set in the days leading up to the 2008 Presidential election, and centered on a high-end Manhattan call girl meeting the challenges of her boyfriend, her clients, and her work.

Its not a hardcore porn because the some girl is in is a pornstar.

And the world exclusives from our 20th birthday issue – guest-edited by Steven Spielberg – continue to pile up…

We’ve known for a while that Peter Jackson and Guillermo Del Toro’s eagerly-awaited adaptation of the Lord Of The Rings prequel, The Hobbit, would comprise two movies, due in December 2011 and 2012. But the make-up of those two movies has been up for debate… until now.

We spoke exclusively to both Del Toro and Jackson for our birthday issue, and they told us the latest, which is…

“We’ve decided to have The Hobbit span the two movies, including the White Council and the comings and goings of Gandalf to Dol Guldur,” says Del Toro.

“We decided it would be a mistake to try to cram everything into one movie,” adds Jackson. “The essential brief was to do The Hobbit, and it allows us to make The Hobbit in a little more style, if you like, of the [LOTR] trilogy.”

So there you go. The second film will not, as had previously been suggested, a film that will bridge the 60-year gap between The Hobbit and the start of Fellowship Of The Ring.

For much more from Jackson and Del Toro on their plans for the return to Middle-earth, pick up the 20th birthday issue of Empire, on sale next Thursday (23rd April) - or you can pre-order your copy here.

Ninja Turtles Go Live-Action

Heroes in a Half Shell to hit screens in 2011.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are set to get their very own live-action movie... again.

Variety reports that Mirage Group, which owns the rights to the property, is prepping a live-action film that will focus on the origins of the anthropomorphic sewer-dwellers.

Galen Walker, who produced the 2007 CGI iteration TMNT is onboard, as is Scott Mednick, who used to head up Legendary Pictures and also exec produced 300.

He told the trade mag: "The original dozen comics created by Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman are some of the best source material one could hope for."

Mednick added that the film will remain true to the spirit of the original comics, and may use sinister sounding "face replacement technology", which will allow the turtles to be much more expressive.

The movie is pencilled in for a 2011 release, and will be the fourth live-action film to star the Heroes in a Half Shell, with their first movie hitting screens back in 1990.

So an origins movie this time!

It's been so long since I've seen Turtle 1, but did that not tell there origin story somewhat, maybe not?

Unless they're gonna use this as a chance for a live-action series...

Anyways, look forward to seeing what they come up with, I do love me some heroes in their half shells!

It explained it in about five minutes. Splinter came across the turtles in the ooze near pizza, their first word seems to have been pizza, and Splinter used his visual ninjitsu experience to train the turtles.

http://www.totalfilm.com/news/robert-rodriguez-is-officially-remaking-predator?cid=OTC-RSS&attr=news

Rodriguez is officially making Predators, a reboot of Predator.

huh?

Bloody Disgusting got the scoop back in January, but it is official now. Robert Rodriguez is doing a film called PREDATORS, which he's calling a reboot to the series.

I'm hoping it's more reboot and less remake. Anyone remember the Predator script Rodriguez did back in the '90s that never got made? The one that had Dutch scooped up and taken to the PREDATOR homeworld? That was also called PREDATORS, so I wonder how much of that script will be in his reboot. I love the idea of the Predators collecting up various aliens that have defeated a Predator and pitting them against each other for combat's sake. We can't get Dutch 'cause Schwarzenegger's too busy being a respectable citizen now and Danny Glover probably wouldn't work in this aspect, but we can have a good starring role for a new badass.

The question remains... how much, if any, of Rodriguez's previous script will make it into this movie, how will he shoot it (real sets or greenscreen) and when will it happen... All good questions. I have reached out to Robert trying to get some answers. We'll see if he responds. I'll let you know!

If they can wait a year and a bit then it won't be a problem - he wants to go back into acting.

Dante, I swear if you don't post both source AND put all quotes in quote tags from now on, your posts might not show at all.

It's just not fair on whoever wrote it in the first place.

Dante... I can see that you edited it over an hour later. You know what I mean.

I saw that too (and the original post), but didn't want to say anything.
