Actually, I have heard of "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button", but I thought that it was due out sometime late next year or something like that.

I just heard about this movie called "The Expendables" which is about about 4 guys going to a south American country to overthrow a dictator there.

Sounds like your average action flick with all the Americanism you could "want" except that these four guys will be played by:

Silvester Stallone (Also directing)

Jet Li

Dolph Lundgren

Jason Statham

I´m putting my money on that this will be the manliest movie ever made.

We also need Jean Claude Van Damme and Steven Segal. Then we'll have the ultimate B-movie. Awesome :D

Noes!

Stephen Norrington has signed on to write and direct a reinvention of The Crow, based on the comic created by James O'Barr, says Variety.

Ryan Kavanaugh's Relativity Media is negotiating with producer Ed Pressman to acquire the film franchise and finance the film.

Pressman produced the 1994 Alex Proyas-directed adaptation, in which rock musician Eric Draven (Brandon Lee) is murdered trying to rescue his girlfriend from thugs, and returns from the dead one year later to exact vengeance.

For Norrington, The Crow deal marks the end of a long screen sabbatical. After making his breakthrough with Blade, Norrington took on a big-budget comic transfer with The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Neither the director nor his star, Sean Connery, has made a feature film since.

"Whereas Proyas' original was gloriously gothic and stylized, the new movie will be realistic, hard-edged and mysterious, almost documentary-style," Norrington said.

I know a new 4, 5 and 6 triogy was always planned, but still, it's official...

Terminator 5 Announced

T4 director McG developing next sequel.

US, December 15, 2008 - Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins director McG has announced that he's developing a fifth Terminator film with production company Halcyon.

The announcement was made at the Dubai International Film Festival. "No decision has been made as to where to film the next Terminator, although the Middle East was mentioned as a locale," according to Variety.

The trade reports that Halcyon "had originally planned to wait until the release of Terminator Salvation next summer before deciding on whether to proceed with the next chapter, but the positive studio, fan and media reaction to footage from the current pic has encouraged them to move forward ahead of schedule."

Christian Bale is signed to play John Connor in three Terminator films. Terminator 5 is reportedly slated for a 2011 release. It's not known yet whether distribution of the film will, like Terminator Salvation, be split between Warner Bros. and Sony.

Disney has apparently just pulled out of making anymore Narnia movies. It's now up to Walden Media to find another co-financer...most likely Fox.

Yay.

Calm down.

...at first I got optimistic and thought this may mean the films might increase in quality. Then I saw Fox and my hopes were dashed. If Fox decide not too, then it's likely there will be no more movies.

Isn't there only 3 in this particular storyline anyway?

Obviously there's other Narnia stories, but I never thought they'd make them into big movies anyway.

I read an interview with Michael Cera in the latest Total Film (issue 150, light up Terminator eyes) and it touched on that and painted a slightly curious picture of him. I still love him though. And loved what I saw of Arrested Development. Need to get into the swing of watching it again.

Why have i not heard of nearly none of these movies?

I mean I thought I went a lot to the movies this year but I´m baffled over how I never heard about most of the movies on that list...

Posted

Haggis, what? TDK for best movie, I seriously doubt it will even be nominated. Where's Revolutionary Road? Where's Doubt? Where's The Reader? Why the hell does Frost/Nixon have only one nomination?

It deserves it though. Even if it isn't the best movie of the year (to me it is, at least from the ones I've seen), it's a serious contender. But from there, to being nominated...

Really? o_O I mean maybe you don't like it, or think it deserves the attention it's had, but you really think the second highest grossing film ever in the USA won't get that nomination, even if its for that fact alone?

Yea, they should be nominated more. If only for the fact that like all the others, I don't know anyone who's even heard of them, let alone seen them.

I've heard of them but i'm pretty sure RR is the only one thats been released in this country isn't it?

Besides, isn't it decided by a panel of American people, thus they'd have seen them anyway.
