RedShell Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Of course you do. You're an idiot. It makes sense. OK Bard, time for a chill pill mate.
jammy2211 Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 Weirrrrrrrrrrrrrrrd. It sounds possible though, Mario Kart has always sold best in Europe and smash Bros best in America. Perhaps Nintendo are going after great Christmas sales in both territories with games which really appeal to them. It's one hell of a crazy schedule but I think it's the sort of crazy-ass tactic that could work. Gutted to hear Smash Bros is delayed, but as long as Mario Kart has online, I'm sorted. Gutted he didn't mention Super Mario Galaxy though for 2007, which would suggest we're only getting 2 of what is now a Big 4 . This all confuses me though, what is honestly going to be left of Nintendo's release schedule after these 4 are out? They've already used all their ace cards within a year of release .
The Bard Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 OK Bard, time for a chill pill mate. Was a joke, hence the ":heh:"
Gizmo Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Am I the only one who liked Double Dash? And this thread got me thinking; Brawl needs the Blue Shell as an item, which when released hunts out and hits whichever player is in the lead.
RedShell Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Was a joke, hence the ":heh:" Yeah I know, hence the "" This all confuses me though, what is honestly going to be left of Nintendo's release schedule after these 4 are out? They've already used all their ace cards within a year of release .Me thinks they have plenty of ace cards left, let's just hope we get to see some of them at this years E3 ey?
c0Zm1c Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Of course you do. You're an idiot. It makes sense. You're an idiot to not have yet realised that opinions aren't facts. Am I the only one who liked Double Dash? I liked it. It's probably my least favourite Mario Kart though.
nintendo_guy Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 You know what's funny? While everyone else seemingly craves a new Smash, I've been craving a new Mario Kart game for quite a while. In fact, may be just me, but I found Double Dash!! to be far more addictive than Melee. I liked it. It's probably my least favourite Mario Kart though. You kidding? That game glorified the entire Kart series. Smash Bros shits all over Mario Kart. There's not even remotely any competition. You're gravely mistaken.
Tyson Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 You're an idiot to not have yet realised that opinions aren't facts. Hear hear
Oxigen_Waste Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Of course you do. You're an idiot. It makes sense.
RedShell Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I liked it. It's probably my least favourite Mario Kart though.Same here. My updated list of favourite MK games (since playing Arcade GP 2) from the retro board: 1/ Super Mario Kart2/ Mario Kart DS 3/ Mario Kart Super Circuit 4/ Mario Kart 64 5/ Mario Kart Arcade GP 2 6/ Mario Kart: Double Dash!! You kidding? That game glorified the entire Kart series. What makes you say that? I actually think it took the series a step back by messing with the mechanics too much, removing the jump was a big mistake.
The-chosen-one Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 i prefer Smashbros for 1000% i'll get mad if whe have to wait for 2008 :S thats to long don't get me wrong i like mario kart also but if thats the cost of smashbros i get really dissapointed maybe that much that im not going to buy mario kart haha the last one sucks the one on gamecube i think it will be the same as mario kart triforce arcade images below:
Cube Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 This all confuses me though, what is honestly going to be left of Nintendo's release schedule after these 4 are out? Kirby, Animal Crossing, Wii Nintendogs-type game, Star Fox, F-Zero, 1080, Wave Race, The proper Zelda Wii, The rest of the Mario Sports games, Wario World, Pikmin, Yoshi's Island/Story, and plenty more they could chose from.
Owen Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 We all knew that one game won't make Europe this year (this is NOE we are talking about) and it was either going to be Galaxy or Brawl. I'm not sure i believe the Mario Kart rumour to be honest, but i definately think Europe will see one game missing out of the big three in 2007, unlike USA/JAPAN which will get all 3.
Zelda_Rulez Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Kirby, Animal Crossing, Wii Nintendogs-type game, Star Fox, F-Zero, 1080, Wave Race, The proper Zelda Wii, The rest of the Mario Sports games, Wario World, Pikmin, Yoshi's Island/Story, and plenty more they could chose from. Yes, they still have those games to choose from, but most of those aren't really great hits like Mario Galaxy and Smash Bros, at least to me. It seems to me they are playing their ace cards too fast after each other. I would prefer if they saved Mario Kart for 2008, for example.
Deathborn Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I don't really believe it. DK Bongo Blast will be released also this year. The release of Mario Kart in the same period will just decrease DK sales.
GMC Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 If Nintendo have 3 or 4top-drawer titles to release, i think its understandable that they stagger them accross regions depending on how popular the franchises are. We would all like it if they released MP3, MK, Galaxy etc all in same quarter, but it would make no sense financially. If the MK rumour is true, nintendo are buying free publicity as word of mouth spreads across the atlantic with both sets of fans hungry for news from the other. I know we got stiffed on Paper Mario, and will probably be stiffed again, but strikers, and now maybe MK being euro firsts is a bonus. We were never going to get all the big hitters in one go, and something was going to slip. personally, (if true) im glad MK is coming first. How often do we get exclusives in europe? Enjoy this one and salivate over screenies from america... they'll be doing the same.
Owen Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 I prefer Smash Bros to be released first! Afterall they've kinda geared-us up for Brawl and now if this is true it's like a kick in the balls. NOE know if they release Brawl in 08 in Europe that there going to get shit-loads of stick and must release a big exclusive to take it's place, if they don't well....good luck to them...
darksnowman Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Well, this is a nice suprise if its true! In all honesty, I was thinking about letting Brawl be one of those games I get later down the line. I have the past two Smash Bros. games, and I got most play out of the N64 one- not that the GameCube one isnt great, it just happens that it didnt grip me as much. Mario Kart on the other hand... great on the Snes, great on the N64 and great on GameCube. Ok, not as great on the GameCube in a way, but still a great game for two player. I'd love to see Mario Kart for Christmas, it would be definitely something to look forward to!
Retro_Link Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 Single player: Smash Bros. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mario Kart Multi Player: Smash Bros. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Mario Kart There really is no contest!! Unless they have come up with something special for Mario Kart, the series is really getting quite dull! i think it will be the same as mario kart triforce arcadeI think it might be aswell, or at least be similar.
DCK Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 It doesn't really matter much to me. It seems a bit unlikely to see Mario Kart this year already though, but it's possible.
mike-zim Posted July 9, 2007 Posted July 9, 2007 i have given this some thought. and you know what i think from nintendo's point of view mario kart would be better out first. Nintendo are trying to grow the catagory of gamers. SSBB wont do this. SSB is a game for established gamers casual and hardcore. Mario Kart is a pick up and play by anyone. If they hold back SSB are we going to all of a sudden change our minds and not buy it? Ofcourse not. If they hold back Mario Kart will they have failed to capitalise on the huge wave of possitive publicity that the Wii has created? yes. So in the long term interest of their business this would be a very very smart move. I as a gamer would feel really pissed off, but i can understand why they would do this. But lets not forget this is still filed away under rumour.
