The Bard Posted July 2, 2007 Posted July 2, 2007 That Maxi user is absoloute class, the way he ustilises Soul charges for gaurd breakers and with his movements... amazing. Bard, I don't think you too far away with your comments on that user. I was quite impressed with the Nightmare user to actually, they were clever despite Nightmares sluggish movements.Man, Ivy needs to be the way she in Soul Calibur 2 in this, not three. Getting her sword in the whip state was better, amongst other things. But Xianghua is the one (for me), I'd love to play anyone using her. Man this game is my system seller, question is, which one. I know most people here are 360 users, so probably getting for the 360, but the PS3 D-Pad is better... I'll just weigh it up closer to release date. Yeah man, it's nuts. As for controllers, I use an arcade stick anyway, I hate using ordinary controllers for fighters, get thumb blisters trying to pull off the moves.
mario_jr Posted July 3, 2007 Posted July 3, 2007 Talim's awesome when she's used well... eg The second match is better though because the Maxi user is actually God. Seriously though, that shit is unholy. After watching that I think I gotta go back to play this game just so I can learn how to use those Soul Charges. I use Link and I kick ass but I have never used a Soul Charge. I would be unstoppable if I knew how to use them. : peace: As for controllers, I use an arcade stick anyway, I hate using ordinary controllers for fighters, get thumb blisters trying to pull off the moves. When I use the PS2 D-pad I put alittle oil on the pad, and wrap my shirt around my thumb... but thats when things get intence.
mcj metroid Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 Talim's awesome when she's used well... eg The second match is better though because the Maxi user is actually God. Seriously though, that shit is unholy. Cervantes was almost unbeatable in soul blade. I could use him in SC2 because he mainly had the same combos like Y,Y Down A or whatever the buttons were. But he was far slower so I'm not really surpirsed talim would be great against him. I dislike raphael users to be honest. Everyone i have played uses THAT combo which really isn't a combo. Y Y Y Y etc. My favs are Necrid,Kilik, Seung mina(more or less same moves as kilik) and Ivy(good once moves are learnt)
Gizmo Posted July 6, 2007 Posted July 6, 2007 I was always a Nightmare or Maxi player. Nightware was the best for matches against AI, just for brute strength. Maxi was more slippery, so I used him in multiplayer.
The Bard Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 ^ Same. I got really good with Maxi. To Mcj: Cervantes is still a pretty difficult character, he's a very hard match up for Talim.
The Bard Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Mitsurugi is awesome dude. Unfortunately, there were some balancing issues with the Damascus sword .
Daft Posted July 7, 2007 Posted July 7, 2007 Ahhh yes, the Damascus sword. That thing was a beast! :p I preferred Mitsurugi's move set in SC 1...Although that ->-> YY move was a bit too good.
LazyBoy Posted July 8, 2007 Posted July 8, 2007 I dislike raphael users to be honest. Everyone i have played uses THAT combo which really isn't a combo. Y Y Y Y etc. Ha right here buddy. Although I barley use 'that' combo. Using it locks you into one dimension, so being circled screws you over. I just dodge with Rapheal until the opponent gets frustrated. Then its a cake walk.
D-Day Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Man I'd really love to play some people at this game. Anyway, the official japanese site has been up for a few days now: http://www.soularchive.jp/SC4/index.html It's got nothing up but the teaser trailer they've released so far though. Oh and Xianghua FTW, a few people I know use Rapahael so hopefully I have enough practice against him
Retro_Link Posted July 12, 2007 Author Posted July 12, 2007 E3 Trailer http://www.gametrailers.com/player/21747.html
The Bard Posted July 12, 2007 Posted July 12, 2007 Holy shit! That was amazing! Were the fuck is Maxi though?
McPhee Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 That looks awesome! I take it this one is going to see a few characters die off? Can't see both Nightmare and Seigfried surviving That girl with the hoop looks really awkward to play as. Who was the one with the lance + sword? looks really cool
Hero-of-Time Posted July 14, 2007 Posted July 14, 2007 E3 Trailer http://www.gametrailers.com/player/21747.html Amazing video! I never played Soul Calibur 3, really should pick that up so I can play catch up with the story.
Choze Posted July 15, 2007 Posted July 15, 2007 Looks fun. Graphically it doesnt seem up to par with Top Ps3 games but i guess its a multiplatform game.
Hero-of-Time Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Just read this, seems interesting. And it's about time. Soul Calibur IV lead programmer Masaaki Hoshino has revealed that the series' fourth installment will be introducing a new gameplay element. One that might just take advantage of those big fuck-off swords everyone's so fond of flailing about: Now there's a gameplay element that will let you win that doesn't involve the health gauge
Calza Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Either rings outs or instant kills. Not really that intresting since it's nothing new.
Hero-of-Time Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 Either rings outs or instant kills. Not really that intresting since it's nothing new. Seeing as they said its new it shouldnt be Ring Outs as they are in Soul Calibur arent they?
Calza Posted August 2, 2007 Posted August 2, 2007 I've played and owned SCII just can't remember doing it.
Guest Jordan Posted August 9, 2007 Posted August 9, 2007 Sorry is this Soul Calibur or Dead or Alive? :p
