...but the main reason why she is against porn, moreover prostitution and the industry overall, is how it effects the girls. Sure, there are those who get paid well and enjoy it blah blah (though not many to be honest), but what of girls in Thailand and such, girls who are trafficked into prostitution, girls who are bannished or even sold to sell their bodies because their parents were ashamed to have given birth to a girl and not a boy.

Which is why you should only watch gay porn :awesome:

Totally off topic but its just so awesome I'm going to have to butt in.

My friend was proposed to over the weekend. She has a thing about kinder eggs (who doesn't) so her boyfriend bought a kinder egg, froze it, cut it in two and put the ring inside the egg before melting the two pieces back together and re-wrapping it. He and gave it to her and she said yes!

It's probably the sweetest thing I've ever heard.

Don't think i have ever posted in here but i tend to read it i just wanted to add something to the 'porn discussion' above.

My gf doesn't mind me viewing porn, but thats coz she likes it. Somethimes we shall watch it together, its amazing how many different techniques we have learned from watching some.

Of course i think she would mind if i was looking at porn all the time! Good job i got n-europe to keep the urge at bay ;)

Yes, it degrades women. But it also degrades men. And, porn is the total opposite of prostitution. The former is a choice, and something that is enjoyable, for the viewer and 'actors' alike. Prostitution isn't a choice. It is rarely enjoyed. In fact, I'm actually rather offended how you can compare something as light minded and enjoyable as porn to something as sensitive and unenjoyable as prostitution.

Yes, it degrades men too. I never said it didn't. But it's not as different as you think. I said there were those that enjoyed being in the porn industry, of course there are, but there are just as many who don't. The choice, as you say, might be the case in the west, but its not the same elsewhere. Are they forced into it the same as prostitution? Perhaps not. But do they do it even if they dont want to, simply because there's a market for it and they need money? Yes.

I'm not trying to offend you, there are just so many cases and different scenarios with porn and prostitution that its easy to ignore the bad sides.

I was talking to a mate of mine whilst drinking some wierd cocktail (think it was something like sex on the beach?) and he said something about the xfactor. I then said "Oh yeah, I watch that sometimes, it's awesome watching peoples dreams get shattered!" and he goes "My god, you're so not straight are you" whilst smiling. I wanted to answer honestly but instead I had to laugh and then just punch him playfully so he'd ignore the comment he just made.

I feel like a tosser. I mean, I want to be able to say when people ask, but instead I have to lie because my college = judgemental tossers.

I remember being in a similar situation in college/uni, i would just give ambiguous answers like "let's not go there" which could be taken either way (muggles seemed to take the "safer" literal meaning).

If anyone said that to me I would assume he was gay straight away. Unless it was said in a jokey manner but even then I would still think he was bi or something.
