Wesley Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 http://youtube.com/watch?v=5IfRb-sWuDk Thoughts? Personally, I love the Die Hard films... but one thing I used to like was the scale of it all. It was just one man against a gang of... "baddies", but on a smallish scale. Where as this one seems so much bigger and... well, I dunno. There's a freakin' jet plane. You know?
Shorty Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 It doesn't seem as witty as the previous ones, and it looks like Bruce has forgotten how to play McLain in the same dry way. But, that action looks good so I'll keep my eyes open. Think there was a thread for this a while ago but this trailer's new so whatever...
Fierce_LiNk Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 To me, it doesn't look at all like a Die Hard film. Although that trailer was pretty hard to judge, quite generic I thought. "action, show off da cgi!! Start off silent and then add some epic music til the end. Have a funny, cheesy one liner or two, and then end it abruptly."
Solidus Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 To me, it doesn't look at all like a Die Hard film. I agree with that. It's directed by Len Wiseman who did the Underworld movies with Kate Beckinsale. They weren't so good.
Blackfox Posted April 4, 2007 Posted April 4, 2007 Doesn't feel very Die Hard. I'll probably see it though! Anyone else think hje was trying to be Bauer?
Retro_Link Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Watch the F-35 clip, do you not think they've gone a bit too far!? http://uk.media.movies.ign.com/media/491/491519/vids_1.html
KKOB Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Doesnt John shoot down a massive jet plane in the second film? He lights fuel, which goes to the fuel tank and big badda boom happens. I love the die hard films, always have ever since i was about 6. Die hard with a vengeance used to be my favorite just for jeremy irons evil mofo, and the puzzle aspect. Now i think the first one is the best. I will have to go see this film. I love Bruce Willis in these traditional action roles. Digression: Rambo looks god damn awesome!!! Sly's horrible aged looks suit Rambo a lot better than Rocky *puke* and at least with Rambo he don't talk so much!
ReZourceman Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I think Die Hard 3 is teh awesome! Really funny. Its teh Claires favourite too.
Wesley Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 Yeah Die Hard 3 was always my favourite too. You just got to love the black man meets white man thing going on.
The Bard Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Yeah Rambo looks awesome, looks like its gonna capture the essence of the original nicely. And I LOVED rocky balboa, so Im likely to like this ^ Die Hard 1 - 10/10 Die Hard 2 - 9/10 Die Hard 3 - 8/10 in my books. That's slightly off IMO, so I'll give you mine. Die Hard 1: 8/10 Die Hard 2: 6/10 Die Hard 3: 9/10. I thought the 3rd was the best tbh. Although the original is my favourite Christmas movie of all time .
mcj metroid Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 That's slightly off IMO, so I'll give you mine. Die Hard 1: 8/10 Die Hard 2: 6/10 Die Hard 3: 9/10. I thought the 3rd was the best tbh. Although the original is my favourite Christmas movie of all time . Though i would agree thw second is worse i'd go like this. Die hard 1: 9/10 Die hard 2: 7/10 die hard 3: 8/10(but a very very very high 8 they are sooooo close)
Twilight Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I think some channel is planning to air parts 1-3 in a row this weekend over here to celebrate the 4th movie. I should propably watch the third one since I really don´t remember anything about it... Oh and I´m amazed how (pretty much the only) Finnish Hollywood director Renny Harlin did such a good job with DH2 (I liked it) but for the last decade or so he has been doing nothing but generic crap.
Wesley Posted June 21, 2007 Author Posted June 21, 2007 That's slightly off IMO, so I'll give you mine. Die Hard 1: 8/10 Die Hard 2: 6/10 Die Hard 3: 9/10. I thought the 3rd was the best tbh. Although the original is my favourite Christmas movie of all time . That's perfect for me.
Zygo Ape Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Im looking forward to it. And fook me, if i had a body like that at his age, i wouldnt need to worry about getting old. Speaking of 4th instalments, anyone heard theyve actually STARTED filming for Indy 4?
harribo Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 Never watched the Die Hard films. and I still haven't. Anyone know if they're on TV any time soon?
Slaggis Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 that trailer didn't look that great tbh. The music ruined it aswell. I'll still go and see this because I loved the 3rd one. But I think this may end up to be a dissapointment, though I may be wrong. I usually am.
Mundi Posted June 21, 2007 Posted June 21, 2007 I´ll probably see it just because it´fucking Die Hard. And Kevin Smith is in it :Þ Also....Die Hard Mega Hard!
Hellfire Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 I remember back in middle school a friend had a (legendary) porn movie recorded on a VHS and the label said Die Hard. Very fitting. Also, I don't remember the movies very well, I remember enjoying them, but not being a huge fan.
weeyellowbloke Posted June 30, 2007 Posted June 30, 2007 Hmmm, they seem to have turned McClane into an all out indestructable action hero hired to stop terrorists, which is a bit disappointing as the reason I love the Die Hard series so much is that he's just an ordinary guy who always happens to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, but still save the day. They also seem to have taken his indestructability to a whole new extreme level. Still, witty on liners, explosions, car chases, I can't see how it can fail to be entertaining.
