triforce_keeper Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 KRISTEN CHENOWETH It all fits now! I got the Wicked soundtrack a few months back, and could swear I recognised the voice of the good witch, its been nagging at me for ages. AND ITS THE GIRL ON HAPPY PILLS ON PUSHING DAISES!!!! LOVE IT Hahahaha. Im easily pleased. I have a new love <3
Platty Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 New video from Bloc Party One Month Off LOVE IT.
chairdriver Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 Gay suicide? Plus, it's undeniably the lyrics that MAKE the song. Oh wait. Drunk post. Lol. I was being rude, don't worry. But yeah, Joining You literally sounds awesome. Like her singing really well in a dark manner over power chords, but then the lyrics are kinda wrong for the mood. Shut up, I'm lying.
Ashley Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 New video from Bloc Party One Month Off [la video] LOVE IT. What the hell? How bizarre. Reminded me of Robot Chicken. ...also reminded me I need to start doing my folklore essay. Curse you Platty!
Daft Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Was not sure about this at first but I'm really loving it now. A remix of my favourite song ever. Phoenix - If I Ever Feel Getter (Todd Edwards' Better Dub)
Ashley Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I'm still not sold on it.... Been listening to the original a lot recently. It was featured on Entourage and since then over and over.
spenno182 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I'd like to take a moment to say how good Mew are, amazing band. I know the chap from The Subways is a fan of them (has a couple of tattoos). Anyone else a fan:
Daft Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Cool video. Metronomy - A Thing For Me Like I said above, the Mad Decent remix is much better if you can find it.
S.C.G Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Cool video. Metronomy - A Thing For Me Like I said above, the Mad Decent remix is much better if you can find it. Can't say I really liked the song, but the vid was indeed cool.
Daft Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Can't say I really liked the song, but the vid was indeed cool. Yeah, I put the song in a playlist with a load of other new songs I got over the past couple days and after hearing it about ten or fifteen times do I now like it. (And that's the remix, not even the original. I'm starting to think I'll like almost anything if I hear it enough. )

Anyone else a fan: I love She Spider but never checked into anything else (and watching BSG so not watched that vid). Probably should od someday...
Tales Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Not sure where to post this, but since it's about music I guess here is good enough. I bought myself a iPod yesterday, and I was wondering if the song count gets automatically updated when I charge it via the computer?
Coolness Bears Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I was following the... I was following the... I was following the... I was following the... I was following the... I was following the... I was following the... I was following the... I was following... the PACK all swallowed in their coats.... with scarves of red tied round their THROATS... to keep their little heads from falling in the snow... and I turned round and there you GO! and Michael you would fall... and turn the white snow red as strawberries in the summer time... I cannot stop listening to this song. It is so wonderful. (fleet Foxe: White Winter Hymnal)
Slaggis Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Warning - Teen Pop. I heard this, and the 12 year old in me loved it. I know it's the typical teen "Omg let me be myself, alright!" song, but I like her voice (Though it should end at about the 2 minute mark, it's boring after that). *Hides* Demi Lovato - LaLa Land -- I'm listening to The Saturdays album. It's not terrible, but it's hardly as good as some reviews made it out to be. It just has no...personality. -- Also, I love Will Youngs "Grace". It's such a relaxing song. Part of it reminded me of "Wild World".
Zechs Merquise Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 This is the most amazing song I've heard in a long time, it's called This I Love and is on the new Guns N' Roses album. Amazing. Hope you like it!
The Bard Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Just drove back from the gym all sweaty with my buddy as "Lets Get It On" plays full vol. Aside from the obvious discomfort, Mr Gaye actually has some of the greatest backing music ever. Love it.
Paj! Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 I am going to see (via Chairdriver's monies atm) Antony & The Johnsons! AND Bat For Lashes! Actually a bit too excited. I think Antony is during exam period...so I'm crossing my fingers I can still go.
Ganepark32 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 So behind on the ol' music front. Haven't bought Kerrang! magazine in ages so I've found any new rock/metal bands so need to go and get it at some point. Anyways, while looking up stuff for The Sounds, I came across a band called Krezip and one of their songs 'All My Life' and I have to say I love it. Really nice. Perhaps I should just go trawling for music more often because I found it by complete accident and it turned out to be really good.

Ganepark32 Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Thanks for that. Have been using the similar artists option on MP3.com and been getting a bit of mixed results. Some good stuff but alot of crap.

I love it. ---- In Attitude there's an interview with Antony Heggarty, and they actually sing his and Bjork's praises far too much. Like actually went out of their way to mention The Dull Flame Of Desire is lovely to listen to. I hate how it, as a magazine, has an irrational obsession with Kylie Minogue. Like, fair's fair, I'll admit X is worth it, and she has had some good tunes, but realistically, she doesn't deserve all the love she gets. But apart from that, Attitude has opinions worth hearing. Better than Gay Times anyway (giving Katy Perry 0/5, and generally over-rating shite)

Better than Gay Times anyway (giving Katy Perry 0/5, and generally over-rating shite) Yeah, the Gay Times is absolute shit. (But I love Perry, so ever since I discovered that, I've hated them beyond words). Kylie does not deserve the praise she gets, like you say. She's good, but she's nowhere near the whole "iconic status" that critics seem to have awarded her. I mean, there's just better people out there making music than her.
chairdriver Posted December 21, 2008 Posted December 21, 2008 Yeah, the Gay Times is absolute shit. (But I love Perry, so ever since I discovered that, I've hated them beyond words). To be fair to them, One Of The Boys can be viewed as really hypocritical, because she's saying she's like a guy, and likes to kiss girls (if only to please her bf though) and then she goes and sings "Ur So Gay". But then, I can't stand flawed ratings. No way does One Of The Boys deserve 0/5. Like, at least give it a 2 - a realistic rating. And I hate how they star out swear words in Gay Times. It just feels really pointless and superficial, considering the subject matter of alot of the articles.

It's not hypcritical, because she's saying she was like one of the guys, seeing as the song then goes on about her changing/"shaving her legs" and whatever. But yeah, totally. They obviously judged it with a "Ur So Gay is soooo homophobic" attitude without putting the song in the right context. But yeah, a two I would have been fine with. A zero just makes them look completely unprofessional. Lol, it's rather pointless. Why bother staring them out, when there's a half naked man on the front cover. It's hardly like a kid is going to see the magazine and want to buy it so it can't be to accomodate the audience either. Whoever runs the magazine needs shooting.
