Dante Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Indeed Muse also did 'House Of The Rising Sun' cover.
Raining_again Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Indeed Muse also did 'House Of The Rising Sun' cover. <3 I love that tune But then I just love Muse full stop.....
Raining_again Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 They also did a cover of Please Please Please, Let Me Get What I Want God I love Muse. Yaaaay another muse fan, you even have a muse-y name! <3
Paj! Posted July 24, 2008 Posted July 24, 2008 Only good songs are 'Rat is dead (Rage)' and 'I fly' on the album the rest of the songs sound like another band. Well, without actually hearing anything except Rat Is Dead, I prefer that an artist/band progresses, and from reviews I've read, they have, it just lacks the fun of the first album.
chairdriver Posted July 27, 2008 Posted July 27, 2008 I love Cold Shoulder by Adele. It's one of those songs that you know that you love it during the first hearing.
Fierce_LiNk Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 God, what's this thread doing on the second page? I'm listening to some old YeahYeahYeahs stuff. Hmm, feeling quite sad now.
Dan_Dare Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 CSS's new album is awful. i'm downloading it now. pr0 opinion soon. by 'soon' I meant ages, and by 'pr0 opinion' I meant this: Dante is wrong. this album is sweet.
chairdriver Posted July 30, 2008 Posted July 30, 2008 Chairdriver's song of the day The Waitress - Tori Amos I BELIEVE IN PEACE, BITCH! I BELIEVE IN PEACE!
gARYgREATIE* Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Had an amazing time at Latitude Festival! Feeling it now tho. I saw so much its unreal. Go team, death cab for cutie, franz ferdinand, seasick steve, elbow, sigur ros, guillemots, the coral, glasvegas, foals, interpol, breeders, blondie, nada surf, noah and the whale, those dancing days, swanton bombs, the school, a-line, Murder by death, The aliens. Saw some comedy too: Ross Noble, Bill Bailey, Tim Minchin, Daniel Rigby, Arnab Chanda, Dan Atkinson, Carey Marx, Scott Capurro, Jon Richardson. Watched a little bit of cabarat too. Danced in the woods and to guilty pleasures and was pretty much drunk all weekend. Can't believe it's all over Why the frick didn't you go see The Mars Volta? They are so awesome live it's unreal. You lucky people just squandering all these awesome opportunities :P
Paj! Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Dear Miami by RóisÃn Murphy is my new favourite song about Global Warming.
Platty Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Why the frick didn't you go see The Mars Volta? They are so awesome live it's unreal. You lucky people just squandering all these awesome opportunities :P Firstly I've seen Mars Volta at Brixton a few years back and to be honest got a bit bored. Secondly I really wanted to see Sigur Ros and they were on at the same time! I'm happy with my choice
Slaggis Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 I Kissed a Girl has just been released on iTunes in the UK. They had to bring forward the release due to the demand for it to be released. It's shot to number one on iTunes. Expect it to be everywhere for the next 2 months. I'm not sure if it's going to cause the controversy it caused in America over here, due to people here being a bit more...normal.

Maybe they'll give it a real video, with girls...y'know, kissing girls...
Slaggis Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Maybe they'll give it a real video, with girls...y'know, kissing girls... I know, that does bug me a little. But to be fair can you imagine the storm that would of caused in America? Masses of parents would have blown it out of all proportion and accused her of trying to turn every child in the country gay. In the Uk, we'd of loved it, but America? There's no way she'd of been number one for 6 weeks and counting, religious types would of ruined her career rather like they ended up ruining the box office numbers of The Golden Compass. Basically, at the moment it's a "cheeky song with a sexy video". If there were girls in it kissing it would of been "PORN FILTH, RUINING THE MINDS OF CHILDREN" etc. -- Anyway, It's a fun little track, definitely the song of the summer in America, and for me.

Secondly I really wanted to see Sigur Ros and they were on at the same time! I'm happy with my choice did sigur ros play untitled 8? That song live remains probably the most stunningly beautifull 5 minutes of my life even after several years and 2 explosions in the sky gigs. the mars volta live is a funny thing. the quality seems to entirely depend on what mood they are in. i have seen them three times, and if i hadn;t known it was the same band each time i wouldnt have been able to guess. once time was mellow and almost boring, one was weird and frenetic and once was something in between.
Platty Posted July 31, 2008 Posted July 31, 2008 Didnt play unititled 8. But played enough to mesmerise me.

Dan_Dare Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 I feel a great disturbance in the forum...like millions of rules of grammar were broken and cried out...
Slaggis Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Haha, apologies. I'm just so used to using "of" now due to everyone around me doing the same thing. Though when you think about it it doesn't really make sense, don't you think with the amount of people doing it it's going to eventually come into use?
Ashley Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 Haha, apologies. I'm just so used to using "of" now due to everyone around me doing the same thing. Though when you think about it it doesn't really make sense, don't you think with the amount of people doing it it's going to eventually come into use? If things came to be just because everyone was wrong George Bush would have got elected...wait.... But seriously, thinking about it logically "could of"..."of" is a possessive word (noun isn't it? been a while since A-level English Lang...) so it just...makes no sense.
jayseven Posted August 1, 2008 Posted August 1, 2008 a sort of reverse one though. Leg of lamb = lamb's leg. Leg have lamb = different meaning!
