  1. Final Fantasy XIII

http://www.zavvi.com/games/platforms/xbox-360/final-fantasy-xiii/10048634.html I just watched this weird trailer for FFXIII, anyone else seen it? I particularly enjoy the section talking about Leona Lewis. Synergy ftw.
  2. =Music Wars 2= Match 19

    Rolling Stones x 1 gajillion.
  3. How was your day?

Me and Dan(Dare) saw Neil Young yesterday, it was unreal. It gets even better tonight, 3-hour set from The Boss. swooonz.
  4. Left 4 Dead: A Thread For Suvivalists

I kneed her in the balls and she fell over. Give that a try.
  5. Louis Theroux

I really dislike Louis Theroux, I think the subject matter of his documentaries are always interesting but I can't stand how he goes about it. He always plays this loveable slightly bumbling british guy role and I don't believe it for a second, he always comes of really patronising in my opinion. He never really discovers anything he just gets involved in something that seems weird to the majority of British TV-watchers, so it doesn't matter that he's achieved nothing because you've seen something exciting. I wish I could back my opinion up with some insightful J7-esque knowledge but my writing skills teeter between Y6 and Doofus.
  6. Special Xmas BISH Sign-up thread

    Me, I want in.
  7. Original music compisition thread

Cool, but it wasn't really an original composition.
  8. The Movie News Thread!

5 good films? I think you're selling him a little short there. 48 Hours Boomerang Metro Life (wasn't amazing, but not that bad) I-Spy (Underrated, an absolute gem if you like owen wilson) The PJ's wasn't a film but it was well funny
  9. MUSIC WARZ! Match 7

The Rufus Wainwright version?? Urgh. Jeff all the way.
  10. Rate the last film you saw

It was pretty cool, I liked the whole phone ringing in the dinosaur, and it had william h macy. Not quite as cool as the first two tho. I can't wait for Jurassic Park 4
  11. Mock The Thread

and finally, it's the final countdown. <Cuts to Music Video>
  12. Rate the last film you saw

I really liked The Lost World, not as much of an impact as the first film but wisely they shifted the emphasis onto the best character in the first film. Goldblum is amazing, and the t-rex is awesome.
  13. How was your day?

Hmm, is that a double fail for me or a fail for the fool who doesn't appreciate a fine ass guitar?
  14. User Image Gallery

I inadvertantly shocked the world of N-Europe last time with a photo of my cat, are you ready for one of me me and my doggy?
  15. How was your day?

Hmm, I haven't been on N-Europe for a good long while, shocking. Today I had to get up super early to get into central london to put a deposit down on my new guitar. omgz, so beautiful. Apart from that, college was cool, have to do some ludicrously complex stuff for my techniques exam, oh well, new guitarrrr <slobbers>

  18. Bayonetta

how the fuck can she reload the shoe guns? seems massively impractical to me.
  19. How was your day?

I hear Akebonobashii is a laugh riot this time of year.
  20. Rate the last film you saw

I particularly enjoy the ongoing war between the yardies and the swarthy latino types. One of the best uses of stereotyping in film to date. "Tell me why Babylon? Mr Policeman."
  21. Mock The Thread

"Hey, this is based on The Lion King!"
  22. Lyrics Of The Day

I find with artists like Tori Amos people use lyrics as a defense. Arguing that deep and meaningful lyrics make it a better song. If I had written the best song in the world and conveyed a message as my own experiences and then later admitted it was made up would that make it a bad song? You say metal songs usually have atrocious lyrics but thats because they are much more straight forward when compared to someone like Tori Amos i.e. hell, blood, the devil, dark imagery etc. It doesn't mean that if they aren't meaningful and personal they are worse lyrics, because it doesn't suit the style of music. As a fan of metal and in this case Slayer I want and expect this and the simple aggressive vocals are just an additional layer to the song. It shouldn't be seperated and analysed as Tori Amos did in the cover. "She made it her own", she removed a section of the song and warped it and this is seen as interesting why? It's hardly a cover, it's a more acceptable form of plagiarism. i'm happy for lyrics to be open to interpretation but I can't see whats wrong with it being handed to you on a plate once in a while. Why should a thing of beauty have to have meaning? It's so self-indulgent to pedastalise your music taste because you have to think into it. I like it when people sing about Hell. And Blood. It fucking rocks.
  23. Lyrics Of The Day

Tori Amos can go suck my balls, I can't stand anything I've ever heard of hers, and as my ex loved her I have heard far too much. I'll never forgive her for what she did to Slayer. Lyrics wise I love The Silver Jews. Some of my fave snippets are as follows. New Orleans - "There is a house in New Orleans, not the one you've heard about. I'm talking about another house." Strange Victory, Strange Defeat - "What's with all the handsome grandsons In these rock band magazines? And what have they done with the fat ones? The bald and the goatee'd?"
