Wesley Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Saw Long Blondes last night. Wasn't too great to be honest. They played a lot of new stuff tho. I've seen them! keeping with Radiohead some more: who else has that special 2nd disc of In Rainbows? it's rather good I listen to it more than the actual album.
Calza Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Hercules and Love affair are, of what I have heard of, are soooo good. Another damn cd I need to buy.
Paj! Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Hercules and Love affair are, of what I have heard of, are soooo good. Another damn cd I need to buy. Phuncking my heart. I need to buy.
ipaul Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 And In Rainbows > The Bends. OK Computer =Kid A > In Rainbows > The Bends > Amnesiac > Hail To The Thief. I won't even list Pablo Honey, as it is probably one of the worst records ever recorded. It's just horrible. I would have said it was more like that really =P They just seem too equally brilliant in their own right to declare one better than the other. As for my personal preference: Kid A > Amnesiac > OK Computer > In Rainbows > Hail To The Thief > The Bends Oh and Dan Dare, I have that 2nd disc of In Rainbows, it is brilliant I think if I were to put it on my list I would have it on a par with disc 1 of In Rainbows.
Caris Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Everyone should download The Best of The Cardigans.
DomJcg Posted March 13, 2008 Posted March 13, 2008 Phuncking my heart. I need to buy. Then Check Out Vampire Weekend and MGMT my good man, they make me tingle.
Dante Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Everyone should download The Best of The Cardigans. Awesome I didnt know the Cardigans had a new CD out. Got any rare songs on it Caris? Anyone a Mars Volta fan?
Paj! Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Awesome I didnt know the Cardigans had a new CD out.Got any rare songs on it Caris? I bought the standard single-disc version, but there is a deluxe 2 discs one, with the second disc being B-Sides and various rarities.
Fierce_LiNk Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Is In Rainbows really better than The Bends? I haven't got it yet, but have heard some of the album, and I must admit it is cracking stuff. Bodysnatchers is too fucking awesome. However, better than The Bends...can it be?!
Paj! Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I'm sure one day i'll just love Radiohead. Based on my music taste it seems like I should, but I just don't. I usually have loads of time for bands like Radiohead, but it just thinking about listening to most of their songs just makes me want to leave the computer. I might listen to In Rainbows again. I need to post a joke review. -- Take A Bow - Madonna came onto shuffle, so I decided to listen to the entire of Bedtime Stories by her. It has one of her best songs, Bedtime Story (written by Bjork!), and is my favourite of her normal pop albums. 9She's done better, less conventional albums). She's very talented, and the only pop person I can really take seriously.
Intensity Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 I didnt like In Rainbows what-so-ever. Imo it is one of Radioheads weakest albums
Fierce_LiNk Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Ok, guys, I need your help. Basically, I need help finding a specific song, but I don't even know if the song exists or not. It's one of those classic cases where I may or may not have made up the song in my head. It's an instrumental as far as I know, and it starts off sounding a lot like an electric guitar version of Unchained Melody. My instincts tell me that it might be by Explosions in the Sky, as I got into that band around the same time. Tell me, does this exist, or am I an idiot?
Hem Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 She's very talented, and the only pop person I can really take seriously. Ray of Light is a pretty good album tbf.
DCK Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 Ray of Light is a pretty good album tbf.I have to second that, even though I hate her. I really enjoy listening to Frozen especially, it's quite hypnotising.
killthenet Posted March 14, 2008 Posted March 14, 2008 The video for Frozen is at least incredible as it was directed by a certain Christopher Cunningham. Who just so happens to be producing the next Horror's album. Interesting development indeed.
chairdriver Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 I feel I need to "reinvent" Dragonette, since they are awesome and get nowhere near as much publicity as they should. Actually the cream of the pop world. Watch the following videos (the first two are awesome, the third is fan made - but still the song is awesome) I Get Around - I love. Lesbian kissing galore. Take It Like A Man - I love even more. Porn for a joke. The Boys - Awesome cover. I much prefer it to the original. I don't think its a fair world when a pop tart releases the same album for the third time and gets praised when bands like this go unnoticed.
Tom Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 just wondering what everyones top five most wanted to see bands are. There seems to be quite mix of tastes here so i'm hoping some interesting names come up. I have been fortunate enough to get to see alot of bands, but the ones I would most like to see who I haven't yet are: Godspeed You! black Emporer Oasis Muse RATM Mono -seeing them in may nb - please only count bands who are still active, every wants to have seen The Beatles, Joy Division, Sublime etc so not worth mentioning
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Godspeed You! black EmporerOasis Muse RATM Mono -seeing them in may What the fuck are Oasis doing there????
Intensity Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Have you ever seen Oasis Live? No. Very good live and this is from somebody who only likes their first two albums and thinks everything else they released was horrible.
Tom Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 What the fuck are Oasis doing there???? sentimental reasons. they were the first band I ever got really into, plus the first 2 albums are some of the best releases from the nineties
Oxigen_Waste Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Have you ever seen Oasis Live? No. Very good live and this is from somebody who only likes their first two albums and thinks everything else they released was horrible. Actually, you're wrong, I have. The year was 2005, they were at festival here, called Sudoeste. August 4th: Main Stage: Sean Paul - 01H30 Patrice - 23H40 Orquestra Imperial - 22H05 Expensive Soul & Jaguar Band - 21H00 Domingos António - 20H35 Júnior - 20H00 Secondary Stage Nuno Reis (Dj Set) - 03H00 Ladytron - 01H45 Fisherspooner - 00H00 Gato Fedorento - 22H30 Chill Out Rádio Oxigénio - 20H00 August 5th Main Stage Kasabian - 01H10 Oasis - 23H50 Da Weasel - 22H10 K-OS - 21H05 Skank - 20H00 Secondary Stage DFA Records Showcase - 23H10 LCD Soundsystem Black Dice Hot Chip The Juan Maclean Delia & Gavin + James Murphy (Dj Set) Marcus Lambkin (Dj Set) Tim Sweeney (Dj Set) Maximo Park - 21H50 Devendra Banhart - 20H30 Boite Zuleika - 19H00 Klepht - 18H00 You Should Go Ahead - 17H00 August 6th Main Stage Fatboy Slim - 03H40 Underworld - 02H00 Ben Harper & The Innocent Criminals - 23H40 Humanos - 22H05 Donavon Frankenreiter - 21H00 The Thrills - 20H00 Secondary Stage Dezperados - 03H10 Peaches - 02H10 Mylo - 00H50 Louise Rhodes - 23H30 Josh Rouse Band 22H00 Sarah Bettens 20H30 Hipnótica - 19H00 Sagas Feat. Dj Nel Assassin - 18H00 Factor Activo - 17H00 August 7th Main Stage Basement Jaxx - 01H25 Korn - 23H35 Dinosaur Jr. - 22H15 Doves - 21H05 Athlete - 20H00 Secondary Stage Rui Vargas (Dj Set) - 02H00 Dj's Rádio Oxigénio - 00H50 The Kills - 23H30 The (International) Noise Conspiracy - 22H00 Wraygunn - 20H30 d3ö - 19H00 Mata Tu, Patron! - 18H00 Vicious 5 - 17H00 The ones in bold underlining are the concerts I went there to see. Anyway, I did see Oasis. And they suck. And so do their first two albums. I don't make claims I can't back up, seriously. I can understand people saying that Rammstein are a great live act, because they are, despite sucking so much musically... but Oasis are not even note worthy, live. And I should know, I've seen them. And it was actually considered one of their greatest concerts. So... yeah.
McMad Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Kid A > The Bends > OK Computer (very close with the first three) > In Rainbows > Amnesiac > Hail To The Thief A man after my own heart.
Paj! Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Yeah, I still didn't get into Radiohead, despite listening to In Rainbows yesterday. ----- Listening to The Con by Tegan And Sara, a great duo, and awesome live. It's just been released in the UK, as only now have they got a UK Record deal, after like 4 albums. The Con The Con (Second Single) (Prospective 3rd single) ---- Some of their most popular/best stuff is from the previous albums, however. (Love this video. I want to their friend.)
The Bard Posted March 15, 2008 Posted March 15, 2008 Soo...best Hendrix album/ song? I'd say Are You Experienced for album, and Red House/ Little Wing/ Crosstown Traffic/ Aww shit...everything.
