Porn is just a way to beat it down without using your own imagination. Developing emotional attachment between the "actors" would take more than 5 minutes.

I honestly don't care that it plays the same, nobody expects the developers to come up with new concepts all the time. Shadow Complex is a completely distinguishable game from Metroid or Castlevania even if it shares features and Braid is obviously different from the original Donkey Kong. 3D dot on the other hand seems entirely dependent on its graphical style to assure its identity, with much of its assets being from another game. I'll try to exemplify it.

Does Shadow Complex have morphball and enemies that look like metroids? That's the main difference, its not about the gameplay or genre, it's about what defines the very identity of a game.

It obviously has more than a simple 3D sword. The chickens, the way he lifts new items, the enemies, the music and even the dungeons are very similar. I don't understand the funny argument, I can't read Japanese. TBH I believe that if it weren't for the graphic style not only people wouldn't be so forgiving to this homage, they probably wouldn't even be interested.

It doesn't infuriate me, but I sort of agree with dazzybee, I think its starting to cross that line between sensible homage and tribute to a rip off. It doesn't bothers me it borrows mechanics or gameplay from Zelda, Okami is kinda like that, the problem is the appropriation of many trademark elements that defines the original series.

Wtf, I stop listing for about a month and this happens? What are John and Garnett doing now? Kinda sad Davis will have to pick up from this, he's a cool guy. Anyway, I currently only listen to Podtoid, HAWPodcasting and GoNintendo. Stopped Listen Up and Giantbombcast as 5 podcasts are too much.

It annoys me too, it goes to ridiculous levels when people start saying N-Word or F-Word. With a bit of common sense you can fully understand if someone truly intends to offend just by the tone or context it is said. It utterly amazes me how PC American society is, but I guess if over here I could be sued just by that, I would be too.

It is indeed spoilerific, there's no way around it. I used to read the manga and stopped right at this part they showed in the OP (the anime finally caught up to it after 2 years of waiting, yay), and I expect much of what is shown in the OP to be featured in this week's special, but another part I just didn't expected ( and its a sad part). That was ambiguous enough.

Ha, I remember that thread frequently when I go to the bathroom late at night after everyone is sleeping. Edit: And what a blast from the past. Half the members are banned and the other half doesn't come here any more.

The twist would have been great if it wasn't revealed in the first 5 minutes. Imagine if they had made the big revelation more progressive and the memory glitches more subtle, it would be one of those great wtf moments in video games.

I think its great. It's an optional thing and hopefully indicates a some points of increased difficulty in the game.

LOL, what were you guys expecting? The day someone decides to put HBC it should have considered the eternal mouse chase it would be with Nintendo.
