  1. Yup. This is pretty funny in light of their cloud powered gaming BS. Gonna be funny to watch them spin that yarn around
  2. Great news. The most embarrassing defeat in all of video gaming history Still wont buy an Xbone though, out of principle alone. Having the region lock removed is a surprise though and a welcome gesture (hope you're watching Nintendo!), but it is still too little too late. They're not getting a penny out of me.
  3. For the same of game preservation, I really hope it's true. That being said, there's still no way I'd ever buy the console now that MS have revealed their true colours as cartoon villains. They've lost my trust for good.
  4. Aaaannd none of them will be made available on the VC
  5. Picross 3D is a very different game from the original 2D Picross series. It's really good (if a bit flawed in how it relies on a bit of guesswork here and there) and a very interesting 3 dimensional take on Picross that you'll probably spend months and months on before completing all 300+ puzzles!
  6. YES! Will happily buy the packaged version! (F2P in general can fuck off). I loved the original game, despite how content lite it was. It got such an unfair rap, purely because it was a very content lite game, released at full price at retail as a launch title; if it was released on DSiWare as originally planned, people would've liked it a lot better in general. I hope it's on Wii U and that it really makes use of that second screen on the Gamepad. There's a ton of potential there to really make something special with the two screens! (A simultaneous above water view and underwater view in periscope mode would be amazing!) I just hope they go all out with the concept and don't skimp on content this time! 4 player online sub battles would be awesome! How about mixing things up with having 2D and 3D (3rd person behind-the-sub on TV & 1st person down-the-periscope on the Gamepad) stages as well? Oh and make it character driven this time. Really flesh out the characters who captain these subs, ALA Advance Wars! (Hell, why not introduce charcter specific CO Powers like in the Advance Wars series too?!) Right now, Nintendo really needs a fleshed out game that really makes fundamental use of the two screens for new forms of gameplay (and having it being F2P means that pretty much everyone with a Wii U will probably give it a go). There's a ton of potential here, please don't squander it! You have far too many upcoming games that don't really make use of the Gamepad in any significant way (just look how many people are questioning the decision to even package it in with the console now after E3!), so having a really kick arse game that makes really great use of two screen gameplay (that isn't yet another mini game collection) is something you really need right now after that disappointing E3!
  7. So Nintendo's F2P game has been revealed! It's Steel Diver! From the sounds of what Miyamoto said, it's a sequel with a new 4 player battle mode. I get that feeling that this is gonna be a Wii U title. It's great to see that they're making a sequel (I loved the original, despite how content lite it was). There's no way that I'm gonna play the F2P version though. I'm getting the packaged one!
  8. That's rather worrying... Not long ago, Iwata said that they wouldn't turn Animal Crossing into a money grubbing F2P game, despite how they could very easily earn a ton of short-term revenue from it - because he felt that it would damage Nintendo's long-term customer relationships and the game/company brand. I hope he isn't about to go back on his word...
  9. Agreed. Should've gone with a Gamepad. Ahh well, seeing him pull out a tablet is still funny mind you (Perhaps the broken online store is a subtle jab )
  10. They're collectible objects that you stick in your house and marvel at (or make a creepy museum exhibition out of :p )
  11. Yup, same here! Also, I finally found a Gyroid! (A mini tootoid) Seems that I've stopped tripping over every 5 seconds as well and I can finally start public works projects. Things are looking up!
  12. Nope, no good. Keeps crashing every time I try to buy any of the 4 games. Was hoping to buy them before I go out to work and pick up streetpasses on the way, but no dice. Oh well, hopefully they'll get a fix out by the end of the day...
  13. Good god, this month's US sales are just depressing to look at http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=594001 3DS is now number 1, but even that isn't doing great right now... I get that feeling that this market-wide depression isn't going to go away when the Xmas season & the PS4/Xbone come along either...
  14. Just tried using someone else's save file for a game... No good, doesn't recognise it. Looks like it wont work for sharing save files amongst each other. Also it doesn't work for the download version of Animal Crossing, Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate or Pokemon Mystery Dungeon GTI, so it seems that Nintendo can block it from working with certain games (no item duping for you!)
  15. Oh nice! You can do a save data backup from the Home Menu now too! (A little arrow appears on the bottom right when you highlight a game, press that and the option appears - MUCH quicker than doing it in System Settings! ) There's supposedly one for NSMBU and a "Heroines" panel as well... Might be more, but those are the only ones I've heard of. Surprised that it took so long for them to release a Skyward Sword one!
  16. Time for an update! Streetpass Plaza has 4 new games and here are the developers!
  17. Yeah, same here... Seems to have a nasty tendency to do so whenever trying to connect to the shop... BTW, here's a developer list for each game!
  18. So there's a new 3DS system update out now and it's a big one! Featurelist from GAF... The Save Data backup option is found in the System Settings menu, in Data Management (it's the new 4th option below "Add on Content") I've also noticed that there's an icon in the System Settings menu that lets you change brightness now, which is nice considering that you can't access the Home Menu from there (meaning that you couldn't change the brightness from there before). Anything else anyone has noticed? eShop seems to be the same... Also does anyone know if you can use someone else's save data, or can it only be your own? (Anyone want to test?)
  19. Woah! You wait for new Streetpass games and suddenly 4 come along at once! Not a bad little update! Now THIS is the kind of stuff I love to see that appears out of absolutely nowhere!
  20. It's instant.
  21. That's the same as the Wii and 3DS releases. This version supports the Famicom Data Recorder, which was originally only released in Japan and allowed data to be saved (this was before they came up with battery backed RAM storage for the carts and the Disk System)
  22. Pretty damn good week for 3DS! Goes a long way towards making up for the rubbish Wii U eShop lineup this week
  23. Crap week for Wii U unless you're picking up NSLU now and are not waiting for the retail version...
  24. Disappointing week (again). If they wanted to go with a Luigi theme, they could at least throw us a bone and release another game starring Luigi like Super Mario Kart or Super Mario Bros (never mind the continued absence of games available in other regions like Kirby's Dreamland 3 and Megaman X...) But I suppose they were probably concerned about Super Luigi U overshadowing any other title.
