  1. I reckon he was probably talking about Starfox 64 3D. The English here is a bit weird, but that is probably just down to the translation process at play here.
  2. LM2 is not a solid 60FPS mind you. It swaps between a baseline 30 and 60; it just so happens to hit 60 very often. MH3U 3DS is another one that works similarly, usually hovering between 45-60FPS (with the minimum being a solid 30), even with 3D turned on. That's really impressive, especially when you consider that it features graphical enhancements over the Wii version (particularily with the shadows/self shadowing), renders the scene twice for 3D and still runs better than the Wii version! Not every game really needs 60FPS though, Zelda feels fine in 30FPS for instance (benefitting moreso by the larger scale made by the extra power freed up by dropping the framerate). It's certain genres like platformers (I'm looking at you DKCR 3D!), racers, rhythm games and fighters where you really need that responsiveness and fluidity for the game to feel good. Oh really!? I was under the impression that it was still 8 way movement. I guess we might be looking at Phantom Hourglass/Spirit Tracks style level design then (at least as far as the flat bits go, the gloves come off for 3D in-out movement though of course! )
  3. Indeed. Would be nice to be able to turn the bottom screen off completely while playing VC games, if only for the not unsubstantial battery life savings you'd get...
  4. He's talking about the 3D Zelda games here, not 3DS games in general. This is the first fully 3D pologonal Zelda game to run at 60FPS (well, 120FPS really, what with it rendering 2 seperate 60FPS images simultaneously for S3D), not counting Four Swords Adventures and Tetra's Trackers of course. OoT & MM on N64 were 24FPS (19 FPS for PAL) while TWW, TP, SS, PH and ST all ran at 30FPS (OOT 3D was 30FPS x2 so I guess you should lump it in that category too). This news is actually pretty old BTW. 'Twas reported back in March. Regardless though it's nice to see 60FPS S3D games becoming more common in general It was very rare in the first 1.5 years of the 3DS' life (with the first non-built in titles supporting it being Mario Kart 7 and Pullblox) but is now becoming moderately common. Luigi's Mansion 2 is the biggest showcase of it really. Back when it was first shown off in 2012, it was struggling to even hit 30FPS (spending most of its time in the low 20s/high teens). Fast forward to 2013 and suddenly it's running at 60FPS most of the time (even in S3D!)
  5. Yup, read that too. If buttocks says it's TRUTHFACT, then it's true On the bright side, if devs are going to continue to support both PS4 and Xbone, designing their games around the lowest common denominator, at least it'll almost guarantee 1080p and/or 60FPS in the PS4 versions of games!
  6. If you are registering the 3DSXL now, then yes, it will work fine. I already had a 3DSXL registered to my alternate account and used my spare 3DS console code on there to get my MH3U Download Code just fine.
  7. You can give it to anyone. It's just a standard 3DS Download Code, so it can be used on any 3DS. You also get stars for it (and it also counts towards the So Many Games promotion too ) BTW, I have a spare MH3U code and am looking to exchange it for a Download Code for Fire Emblem Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 2, Animal Crossing New Leaf or DKCR 3D. If you were planning on getting MH3U as part of the So Many Games promotion, you'd be doing me a huge favour here by choosing one of those 4 listed games and swapping it for my MH3U code!
  8. Yeah that is suspicious. We're the ones who always get screwed over, not them... N64 and GBA VC launching next week perhaps? (not that it really matters though. No doubt that NOE will get bored and stop releasing VC games again in a couple of week's time regardless... )
  9. Wow! I think that Fantasia Music Evolved might literally be the single most offensive game of all time for me... Its sheer existence is utter sacrilege. How dare they slap the Fantasia name on this shit! I never thought that anyone would stoop so low as to dubstep Fantasia, but here we are... Truly nothing is sacred in this god forsaken industry
  10. Blinding article! It's amazing how anything got made at all with the kinds of budget and commisioning limitations they had in place. Also each and every single one of them are complete nutters. It's no wonder why the show was so good Is it weird that I now have even more respect for Dave Perry after reading his account of that famous "Bombshell" moment? You really couldn't script this stuff and that's what made the show so good (well, except for the Dexter Fletcher series - which I had actually completely forgotten about! ), it was all real! It wasn't designed by committee, it wasn't all neatly laid out and planned perfectly in advance; it was spontaneous and organic. All real! They also weren't afraid to piss off just about anyone who they didn't like either. It was because of them that Rare stopped giving out video interviews with the media after Dom took the piss out of the Stamper Bros live on air I will always associate Patrick Moore with that weird Zordon lookalike head. God bless the 90s and god bless Gamesmaster
  11. You will need to make another CN account and register all 3 codes on there. Each account can only participate once in the promotion.
  12. There are two codes that are part of this promotion... The person who already owns a copy of the game on 3DS gets a Recommendation Code. They then give that code to a friend who has not yet registered a 3DS, who then proceeds to register their 3DS on the Club Nintendo site. They then take the Recommendation Code from their friend and then input that on the website, upon which they recieve an eShop Download Code that they actually use to get the game for free on their 3DS. That download code can be used on any 3DS, not just the one that was registered to Club Nintendo. You can sell it, trade it, give it away or use it yourself on your personal 3DS if you want. If you want to use this yourself, just set up another Club Nintendo account with a different email address and register the 3DS code on that account.
  13. HAHA BRILLIANT!! I have a spare 3DS console code that I haven't registered yet! YES! I can abuse this offer for all it's worth! I knew that holding off on registering it was a good idea!
  14. NOE's doing another promotion! (And it's an awesome one! ) http://www.nintendo.co.uk/Misc-/Campaigns/Monster-Hunter-Gift-Hunt-Together-Promotion/Monster-Hunter-Gift-Hunt-Together-Promotion-760515.html Bloody awesome! Too bad that I already have two 3DS copies, so I don't need it (perhaps somebody would like to trade it for one of those So Many Games codes...)
  15. Wow! NOE are just taking the piss now. It's astounding to see just how much they are fucking this up
  16. They aren't accessible normally on the 3DS release, but supposedly it's possible to get them by using a password from a GBC cartridge that has them unlocked, or by fiddling with the passwords in an editor... Not that they actually do anything anyway :p
  17. Yes it was released, not in English though. They actually announced Blu-ray releases of the whole OVA series in that announcement video (Japan only naturally). It's gonna be great to finally have a version of TOS released in English with the PS2 version's extra content and fixed multiplayer camera (hopefully without the nasty technical issues though). BTW, it's gonna be interesting to see if they change anything with the localisation this time around. Nintendo supposedly funded the GCN version's western localisation so I'd imagine that there would be some legal issues surrounding a PS3 release using that old localisation... (Plus they might want consitancy with DOTNW's voice cast - as much of a shame it would be to see most of the old voices go...) That and it's an excuse to finally get voiced skits!
  18. A small little thing, but I noticed that they're using localised names for the JPN only games. Nice to finally have official English names for the JPN only games now It's also nice to have official English character names too, even if FEA doesn't include all of them...
  19. OH MY GOD!!! I actually did it! I finally beat chapter 11 on Hard mode without losing a single character! (I'm aiming for a perfect stoic run with no characters lost). It took me 4 hours but I finally bloody did it! I don't think I'm man enough for Lunatic mode
  20. Yup, that and Zelda edition Nintendo handhelds are pretty common. Minish Cap got one, Phantom Hourglass got one and so did OOT3D. We've had a Zelda 3DS, but not a 3DSXL...
  21. Nothing really revelatory but it's nice to finally have a solid release date for MH4 New trailer looks amazing too. My only real disappointment with the game so far is the lack of live orchestrated music like what Tri had.
  22. I think they're trying to go for a Wii Play type thing, positioning it as the go-to 1st Wii U game - increasing the game's value with that freebie remote, while ensuring that people can play multiplayer with at least 2 people and increasing the penetration rate of the Wii Remote amongst Wii U owners (though I'm sure that it's close to 100% anyway).
  23. This kind of attitude could result in them stopping making games that are only possible using the Gamepad or Wii Remote/Nunchuck altogether. Games like Nintendo Land or Game & Wario (which are completely impossible to play with a traditional controller) would never get made at all if people like this keep getting their way... It's a slippery slope
  24. How the hell are the motion controlled platforms going to work with the Pro Controller!? The L and R buttons wont work because they're not analog... Right stick maybe? Gonna be awkward... You wouldn't be able to actually jump while moving the platform, as your access to the face buttons will be impeded as you're using the right stick to move at that time (not to mention that it's gonna be like rubbing your stomach while patting your head to use two sticks at the same time...) Disappointing to see Nintendo give in to public pressure on this matter... At least they didn't change it during the game's development, so nothing will actually be removed from the game in order to keep luddites happy...
