  1. Could well be, but I'm sure that it's in no way shape or form a 5/10 POS game... (Come on, everybody knows how review scores work here. 7-8/10 = Average and anything below is a horrible crapfest) I reckon that there's a bit of confirmation bias in play here from disappointment over it straying from the Warioware formula (the "I KNEW it would be a crap game" syndrome) and general disappointment over Nintendo's direction with the Wii U (with this game being somehow representitive of everything that is "wrong" with Nintendo). Just an inkling feeling I have. I'm not expecting it to blow me away here, but I'm sure that it's not a bad game at all. These reviews all seem way too harsh...
  2. Hmm, in that case, it may well be possible then. Why not give it a go and tell them to check for your card details?
  3. Why do I get that feeling that half of the reason why people are being so harsh on this game is down to the fact that it is not a Warioware game?
  4. How would they know that this transaction ID is your purchase though? If there was no Club Nintendo assigned to the console at the time of purchase, what would stop someone from going out, stealing someone's 3DS (or maybe buying a 2nd hand one) and claiming all of those unclaimed stars/CN registrations for themselves? The problem is that there's no way to identify the individual who made that purchase. They can see what 3DS was used to make the purchase and when it was done, but they can't identify who made the purchase without having that CN link in place at the time the purchase was made.
  5. The problem isn't really so much the lack of an account (cause the same issue applies to the Wii U), but the fact that your Club Nintendo account is seperate from your NNID/3DS eShop Account. What they really need to do is integrate Club Nintendo into the Nintendo ID Account and just have you log into the Club Nintendo website using your NNID. Hopefully they'll do that once NNID comes to 3DS (making the separation no longer necessary going onwards )
  6. It's a nice little (literally!) bar. If it's gonna be anything like the Monster Hunter events held there (which I'm sure it'll be), it'll be well worth going Sadly I'm working tomorrow, so I'll have to give it a miss. But you should defo go if you can!
  7. They might have the transaction ID, but they have no way of knowing that you owned that specific 3DS console that was used to download those games (and no, they couldn't just use the 3DS' serial number because it's very possible that multiple people could've owned that console over its lifetime, so it can't be used to identify a specific individual owner). Making it retroactive would allow people to create swapping circles, where people share their CN account details across multiple consoles and net all of the rewards without paying a penny. By limiting it to only being registered on your CN account while the 3DS shop account and Club Nintendo account are linked, it acts as a guarantee that you were the individual who purchased those games - and thus are entitled to the promotion/CN stars. Nah, this has always been their standard practice, long before this promotion started. Nothing to do with the current promotion.
  8. On the bright side for Nintendo, at least it's much more likely to get localised now!
  9. To be fair, if that wasn't in place, the system could be very easily abused to hell. You could just keep putting your CN account on your friends systems and retroactively add all of their purchased games to your account without paying anything. It sucks, but it's not hard to see why they put that limitation in there...
  10. You're in luck! http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2013/06/3d_ecco_the_dolphin_splashing_onto_3ds_eshop_galaxy_force_ii_coming_soon Now, if they'd just get off their arse and get these games released westward...
  11. Ahh, that explains everything about him
  12. She probably thinks that Xbone will play her 360 games... You may want to let her know that it's not backward's compatible...
  13. Sadly so. It's disgusting just how many of them are only too happy to jump right back in bed with the company that tried to rape them just a scant week ago. The core "gamer" audience are largely pretty stupid, so it isn't that surprising to see. I still reckon that PS4 will win the generation by a good margin, but it seems that Xbone will not be the typical failure that a 3rd console usually turns out to be any more now (and in a few years time, when everyone has forgotten what they did last week... that DRM will be back and there will be nothing that they can do about it...)
  14. The publisher only earns about $37 per copy for a $60 retail game, so you can chop down that revenue figure by about half. But yes, it is a pure scapegoat that is being used to justify these ludicrous game & marketing budgets. Used game sales are a huge force that actually subsidises the cost of new games for a large chunk of the industry's audience. Who the hell would buy Fifa 13, without knowing that they can trade it in for Fifa 14 when it comes about?
  15. 4 brand new games are now available to purchase from within Streetpass Mii Plaza. Details here http://www.officialnintendomagazine.co.uk/51263/download-new-streetpass-games-for-pound449-each/
  16. Oh I remember that one... (actually that whole world was utterly rage inducing )
  17. TBH I can beat NSMBU (or any Mario actually) completely in the span of a day; hell me and a mate took it upon ourselves to blast through NSMBU in just about an hour and a half! (taking all the warps and shortcuts of course ) I'm sure that it's nice and hard (after all, it is designed for people who have already beaten NSMBU). Hopefully it'll be as hard as NSMB Wii!
  18. Had a quick go on Streetpass Squad, I love the presentation and the gameplay seems surprisingly in depth! (I love how you get a different weapon depending on the colour of the Mii's shirt ). The core shooter gameplay is a lot of fun in of itself and it makes good use of S3D to seperate background and foreground elements (which, after playing Thunderforce 5 the other day, is something I REALLY appreciate ). All great stuff so far! So far, assuming that the other games are as good, it's well worth the cash No idea. They said that it would happen this year, but I don't know when exactly. I assume that this option just brings you to the Add Funds screen.
  19. Yeah! Combo Pack get! Time to go and get some streetpasses!
  20. Giving away a (more or less) completely brand new full Mario game for free seems a bit much to expect here :p £17.99 is a bargain as far as I'm concerned. It is 80+ brand new levels after all and is also a full retail package on its own...
  21. Confirmed! http://kokuga.net/index_e.html Coming out some time within the next month! (June/July listed for Europe )
  22. None of that is worth losing the right to really own your game, or the ability to play a game without an internet connection 10/20/50+ years into the future. Steam has competition on the PC, which is an open platform. That's the key differentiator. On a console, you're locked into whatever draconian measures that the platform holders deem fit to lay upon you. Steam are kept in check by their competitors and the downward pressure on prices across the board, while MS have nobody to stop them from making you bend over and take it.
  23. It's listed under New Super Mario Bros U's page as Add on Content. That's why it wont show up under a search.
  24. Aye. Has been since midnight
  25. Ha ha! More like in development for all of a couple of days. Talk about bald faced Also this part really says it all... Can't wait for MS to try and sneak the DRM back in later on into the generation under our noses...
