  1. Just Pilotwings on its own? Disappointing... As great a game as it is, knowing that we're still missing Megaman X and Kirby's Dreamland 3 from the US lineup is agrevating!
  2. If they start raising the limit, it then begins to trivialise the coins in the first place. They don't want you being able to spend them to buy everything very easily, because it then leaves you with less reasons to carry your 3DS around with you if you have all the Play Coins that you need.
  3. Well, it's an exclusive alright; an exclusive from a major western 3rd party even! (And not only that, but it's also one of the best "selling" game series of all time!) ... ... Yup.
  4. Yeah, Ski's a real disappointment in general - which is weird cause I felt that Twister Race was one of the best games in Nintendo Land I just hope that there's plenty of stages for Taxi. Really like that one! I know that there's some "free play" stages you can unlock via the Chick N' Win capsules, but I don't know how many there are in total. I can see a lot of potential for longetivity and depth in that game, so I hope it lives up to expectations! (I hear that Pirates has quite a lot of stages and I know that Patchwork has over 90, so here's hoping!) BTW, the whole Chick N' Win screen is utterly inspired and utterly bonkers. Love it!
  5. Nope, it's 6.1.0-12U, got it this morning after checking out the eShop (and I already had 6.1.0-11U as well as the latest Streetpass Plaza update) No idea what it does. Probably some other security fixes I'd assume
  6. That's because that's exactly what happened. Most of the games in this collection are tech demos from E3 2012 that have been spuced up and given a WW skin. Pretty much exactly like Wii Play (Nintendo Land also did the same thing with a few of its games, like Mario Chase) - actually, that's how Nintendo make most of their games anyway; they come up with prototypes and then fit them into existing series (if they can't fit in, they make a new IP out of it). Pretty much how I feel. Though there are quite a lot of extra stages and stuff to check out in each game, it feels really content light in general. By contrast, Nintendo Land was bursting with depth and content - but that seems to be lacking here. It's not bad, in fact Gamer and Taxi in particular are actually pretty brilliant, but it does feel like it's not enough. Also there are a few games (Ashley, Patchwork, Bowling) which don't really need the two screens at all and others like Ski and Arrow which are both very similar to two games from Nintendo Land (Captain Falcon's Twister Race & Takamaru's Ninja Castle), so they're pretty disappointing really. It's a real mixed bag. You've got some really great stuff (Gamer, Taxi), some good stuff (Camera, Kung Fu, Pirates) and then some disappointing stuff that's merely OK (Ski, Arrow). Hopefully the game will reveal a bit more depth once you get into the extra stages and unlockable stuff (I haven't had much time, so I've only played through each the once).
  7. Nice but I want more games ahead of more promotions!
  8. This is probably coming about as a result of Index's recently discovered financial fraud (Round Tripping)... If any platform holder buys them, it has to be Nintendo. They'd be utter cretins to lose control over what happens with Fire Emblem X SMT... They have the most to lose out of any 3rd party if Atlus were to either go under, or get bought out by a rival (never mind the potential to lock up exclusivity on Atlus' IPs...) While there's a decent chance of Namco, S-E or Level 5 buying them (in that order of likeliness), Nintendo would stand to gain the most from an acquisition...
  9. Rape time? I do it!
  10. Parts 7-12 are finally out! Some nice Killer Instinct talk here too http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCbRUl7dkRVPKlYiUq4TmEaQ?feature=watch Warning, watching them try to collect the bees may make you want to top yourself... Shame that they weren't able to get the KKK costume in for the paintbrush & pot, would've been funny... Cunts...
  11. Well at least we're not having to wait until the end of the generation for S-E to start putting out their VC games this time around in Japan at least...
  12. Vegas Stakes is actually a pretty good game. There's much more to it than meets the eye (and it's also an exclusive in NOE's favour - not even Japan has it on the Wii U VC yet ) It's not just a simple gambling simulator, there's a lot of charactarisation to it as well...
  13. I bought it and thought it was actually quite good myself. Nowhere near as good as the best of the NES entries, but pretty good in its own right. From my understanding, it's the sequel after this one that's meant to be terrible.
  14. YES! Get in there! Very happy with this week's 3DS lineup! BTW, Dillon's RW2 is on special offer for its launch...
  15. So wait... Is it not 60hz? That terminology implies that it has been fixed since its initial 30p release, but it still claims to be an EU version... Vegas Stakes is also an unusual choice. We're the first region to get it on Wii U, but I was expecting (and hoping) that they'd play catch up with at least the US...
  16. I am! Oh, while you're at it Nintendo, you might as well give us Kirby's Dreamland 3 and Balloon Fight (oh and the Japanese only games like Kirby's Superstar Stacker and Panel de Pon) while you're at it!
  17. Well as I pointed out in the Wii U eShop thread, we're 3 games behind the US ATM (Kirby's Dreamland 3, Megaman X and Balloon Fight; the latter of which has not been released in Europe outside of the 30p Famicom promotion), so it's quite possible that we wont get Pilotwings this week... That being said, I do hope we get it (along with the other missing games of course ). Love the original Pilotwings and having it on the Gamepad would be sweeeeet
  18. The US is still 2 games ahead of us (Kirby's Dreamland 3 & Megaman X - 3 if you count Balloon Fight, which has yet to be made available outside of the Famicom 30p promotion), so don't be surprised if we don't get it this week...
  19. Ahh true, forgot about that. Well I guess 3DS at least has one good game coming this week. Wii U on the other hand... (I wouldn't be surprised if it was just Game & Wario and nothing else)
  20. Yeah, they're pretty late today... I would hope that this would be a sign that they're looking to release some good stuff this week, but I know better than to get my hopes up (last week's 3DS haul was pretty good, so I'm sure they'll make up for it with a crap round this week...)
  21. Aaaaaanddd after that comes Shinobi 3 3D! http://nintendoeverything.com/126479/3d-shinobi-iii-coming-to-3ds/
  22. Wowza! That's one hell of a collection! I do always like a good picture collection fest, so I'll probably contribute one myself later on. Dunno if I'll be able to top that, but we'll see
  23. Good lord don't say that! I just bought 1,000 of them! (Doubled my money last week, so I was gutted that I only bought 30 of them)
  24. Here's another review from Destructoid http://www.destructoid.com/review-game-wario-255660.phtml This seems more in line with what I'm expecting from it myself. It probably won't change anyone's mind here, but I'm sure that it's a solid game that makes good use of the Gamepad - but disappoints in its scope and with some of its games not reaching their full potential. Although it's interesting (and perhaps really telling) that everybody's favourite game seems to be "Gamer". It's even Yoshio Sakamato's favourite! And yes I do realise the irony of displaying my own confirmation bias here... Besides, everyone's mind is already made up, so it doesn't really matter anyway :p
