Given that the game is supposedly in "pre-production", it makes sense that they'd put out a CG trailer. Also, it's kinda Ubisoft's thing. They don't usually do honest (i.e non-bullshot) in-game trailers for game reveals for their non-2D titles and haven't done for some time. Well that's exactly it. The game was announced and subsequently cancelled originally, it had no future at all. The only reason this game now exists again is because Nintendo is footing the bill to revive it; just like what they did with Bayonetta 2 and Devil's Third (Which should mean no betrayalton this time either!). So this is their opportunity to provide closure while someone else is taking on the project's risk and before they get taken over by Vivendi (though if the game somehow magically became a breakout success, I'm sure Ubisoft/Vivendi would be quick to pump out sequels )

More hints at Beyond Good and Evil 2's NX exclusivity and some details about the game itself... http://letsplayvideogames.com/2016/10/report-new-beyond-good-evil-to-be-a-2018-semi-reboot-not-full-sequel/ Given that this is an Ubisoft leak, it's probably true since they always leak like sieves (they were also the source of every single Project Cafe/Wii U leak that ever came out BTW, so any NX leaks would naturally come from them...). It also sort of implies that the NX is further away than March... (I mean, it could well just be a very early reveal, but that's not Nintendo's usual style. It could well be like the Wii U's "Emergency Direct" that happened in January 2013, but that's the exception, not the norm.)

When I say unique titles, I don't mean every title. I mean stuff like Wii Sports, Skyward Sword, Streetpass Plaza, Picross etc. Stuff like Mario Kart, Monster Hunter, Smash Bros though? Yeah, make them playable on both. They're unlikely to rely on any specific form of control. The time spent making two separate versions of those games can be much better spent making different titles, re-utilising code and assets shared across both devices.
-
I could never finish it again, no way. Screw the Blue Coins! Best way to play it is to just play it till you've at least beaten Bowser and stop either there, or after you get fed up with the other shines.
-
Neither. I want (and still predict) two separate devices that share the same underlying CPU/GPU architecture, have cross platform games but also have their own unique control gimmicks and unique titles. Something that is heavily motion control focused simply wouldn't work in the same way on a handheld as on a console, while something focused on short play sessions or Streetpass/GPS support are better suited for handheld play etc.

Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS: It (along with its Wii U counterpart) is the most polished entry in the series, with an incredible amount of content and absolutely fantastic gameplay. While the single player is lacking in comparison to Brawl, the multiplayer can't be beat. I pick this game over the Wii U one, simply because it has a more interesting selection of stages and the better exclusive mode (Smash Run >> Smash Tour) Mario Kart 8: While the battle mode is criminally lacking in comparison to previous titles, the racing has never been better. The only thing I can really ding it for is the fact that 3-4 player splitscreen only runs at 30FPS, which is a shame (Double Dash managed 60FPS in 4 player splitscreen, so it can be done!). But really, it's just a spectacular production all round! Mario Party 3: Reverse Mushroom (and the amazing selection of items as a whole), Duel Mode, Waluigi, the super speed movement option and the best stages in the series (along with some of the best mini games too). It's a no brainer! And if we're doing sports as well? (though it's a bit weird, because they're actually all different sub-series, with Mario Golf being different from Mario Tennis/Strikers/Mario & Sonic etc, unlike the others mentioned in the first post), my vote goes to Mario Golf: Advance Tour. It's the complete package all round, fantastic music, brilliant gameplay that does a great job offering 3D gameplay with 2D graphics, amazing courses, a full RPG experience and a ridiculous amount of content. My favourite of a great series!

?!?!?!???!?! ?!?!?!???!?! It's close enough! Rez is actually 15 years old, soooooo... yes? Pretty sure it was a full price release.

Agreed. Backseat gaming can be a lot of fun, especially if it's a game that you've played that they haven't. Watching @Glen\-i playing CBFD for the first time last year was a right hoot As for Lets Plays, I don't really get that same feeling, but sometimes it can be fun for the banter (I used to watch a fair bit of Game Grumps, because I liked their chemistry for instance). For the big names though? (like Pewdiepie etc) They're celebrities in their own right, so it's a bit of a cult-of-personality thing (which is actually really quite terrifying to think about, the whole fiasco with T-martin and CSGO Lotto really shows how ugly it can get). It's not really my thing, but I can see the appeal. I've enjoyed re-watching some of my own past broadcasts though, but that's something more personal; like re-watching an old home video kind of thing and mulling over fun memories. Then with e-Sports, a lot of it just plays out like normal sports watching; you get behind certain teams and just enjoy cheering them on/chatting about them. Not too hard to understand really, though the dogged loyalty to specific games is that comes as part of that is just insanity in my eyes - The amount of people who play/watch JUST one game like League of Legends and don't even consider anything else is just staggering! I mean, yeah, the huge majority of people out there who play games generally do only ever play one or two games that come out each year (the usual COD, FIFA etc), but I just don't get how they can enjoy playing/watching NOTHING else at all! There's a world of variety out there, but it's completely invisible to them! Stuff like speedruns though I absolutely love! Just seeing how games can be torn apart and boundaries broken is just fascinating to me! I'll never be good enough to pull off that kind of stuff, but it's just incredible fun to watch! (and the experience of something like GDQ is just wonderful! There's always some great commentary and the work they do for charity really is incredible! It's always a highlight of the year for me! )

Got somethin' that might intrest ya, heh heh heh... http://www.nintendo.co.uk/News/2016/October/Interview-Localising-DRAGON-QUEST-VII-Fragments-of-the-Forgotten-Past-1146184.html An interview with the localisation staff! Some snippets... It's a good read! : peace:

I suspect that it'll run no better than X/Y at all. To be fair, Sun/Moon does look like a decent visual step up from X/Y (Which, outside of battles, looked like a beefed up DS game), but the total lack of S3D is still pretty embarrassing.
-
Something small and neat, a little look inside Nintendo's Japanese warehouse, where they still keep some Famicom stock! https://topics.nintendo.co.jp/c/article/0275103c-85e5-11e6-9b38-063b7ac45a6d.html Including a Famicom Disk Writer!
-
Game Freak fails again! S3D only works in the Pokefinder and nowhere else... Woohoo! They've actually gone backwards from X/Y! Way to go guys!
-
Well that wasn't the case yesterday... Guess they restocked quick-like. Hope that means that I don't have to wait long for the UK Nintendo Store to ship my copy...
-
That it's been delayed to November 2017? Sounds about right.
-
Yeah, seems like it's sold out everywhere now. Shopto don't have it, Amazon don't have it etc. I'm having to wait as well since I couldn't pre-order it at the time (I ordered it from the Nintendo UK Store as well). Must've had a very small initial shipment...
-
Yeah, it does make some good use of it (Bowser Party in particular is brilliant for that!), but it's just not as much as I would've liked to see. The quality is there, but I would've liked more in the way of quantity. That's the price you pay for HD I suppose... Game is pretty great overall. I really liked this one, it has that mean streak back that has been missing from the last few games before it
-
They're too busy adding Bros to the title of everything to add U's. Come on, they're being seriously overworked here, cut 'em some slack :p
-
Well this makes the lack of localisation for the name even more vexing... https://twitter.com/GoileNintentoad/status/785136440699125760/photo/1 EU US They bother to change the washing machine model, but not the name of the game. GG NOE!
-
For those predicting £ prices based on historical precedent, do remember that our currency is currently busy circling the drain... I suspect that the UK price will be eyewatering, even if it's relatively cheap elsewhere...
-
I did say "virtually nobody else"..., you're cool though Let's be honest though. Virtually nobody mentions it online. It's easily the most underrated Wii U game. There's something to be said for games like Star Fox Zero or Mario Party 10, where they are seen as controversial, or games like Project Zero: Maiden of Black Water and Tokyo Mirage Illusions, where they serve specific niches, but Rainbow Curse is just... forgotten... and that's just sad.
-
Because virtually nobody else here will mention it, and that's just bloody tragic... May or not be actual in-game screenshot, it's hard to tell If you like FUN! Ok, this is definitely an in-game screenshot... I think and HAPPY! Nah, this one aint in-game, I'm an expert on the subject. His arms are sticking out here, ya see. and loved Kirby Power Paintbrush on the DS, then you're right at home! This is a fantastic sequel to the DS classic and is vintage scribbly platformer fun. If you've never played Power Paintbrush before (and if not, shame on you! Though the game is available on the Wii U Virtual Console right now, so you should go ahead and reacquaint yourself with it now that you have a Wii U ), the basic premise is that it's a traditional styled Kirby platformer where you can't jump! In fact, you have no direct control over Kirby at all! Instead, Kirby moves sort of independently from you, while you guide him by drawing guiding lines on the Gamepad with your stylus! I'm pulling some tutorialception here, don't mind me. You tap him to dash him forward and draw around him to guide him throughout the stages. Sounds simple and it is! But along the way you'll find all manners of crazy ideas and gimmicks that keep things interesting... Oh, did I mention that this game features 5 player multiplayer? Well, now I have! Oh yeah, you get to be a tank as well, just your every day Kirby outing ... and of course while Kirby games are generally approachable and easy, that's not to say that this one won't challenge you to do better... No, no, no, no, NOOO FUUUCCCCCC... Good thing I wasn't playing in 5 player... It would be 5 times harder! It's tons of fun to plough through at high speed! It's a fairly short game, but very fun and replayable! The music is also superb as you'd expect from Kirby. Here's a couple of non-spoilery snippets for your earlobes to enjoy! And, well... yeah! It's a fantastic game that goes sadly ignored by most people and it's definitely in my top 5 Wii U games for sure! Really, you can't go wrong with most of Nintendo's output for it really (save for Mario Tennis Ultra Smash and Animal Crossing Amiibo Festival), but I'd just like to highlight this tragically forgotten gem! : peace:

Time for something actually interesting! We officially have our first Ubisoft NX title (and it's probably an exclusive as well, given the rumours and Nintendo's current MO with saving cancelled projects! )
-
I can't believe that it's actually being released in this state in Europe...
-
Holy crap!!! How the hell did I not know this? How has this remained a secret for so long!?
