Too bad the Famicom Mini controllers aren't detachable. They really get screwed here. Not only are the controllers ridiculously tiny, not only are the controller cables short, not only are they permanently attached, but they also can't use Wii Classic Controllers on their system (or use the Famicom controller with a Wii Remote). Feels nice not being on the arse end of things for once though

Wow! Nintendo putting out 50hz/60hz comparison videos! I never thought I'd see the day! So happy to see them finally treat 60hz as a selling point! BTW, there's some videos of the interface here and some more in-depth details (including a look at the "Old TV" Filter) Interface looks super cute and well animated, gives off a NES Remix vibe Also interesting to see that the "Old TV" filter replicates RF and not Composite, never really seen anything like it before! Overall it looks pretty rad! Getting one for sure!

Maybe the NX doesn't even exist? That would explain why nothing has leaked :p

Nintendo WiFi Connection has shut down now, so Mario Strikers and every other Wii football game can no-longer go online. Wii U has a grand total of one (yes one), football game (Fifa 13) and I'm pretty sure nobody plays it, so it'll have to be something on the non-Nintendo consoles (so Fifa or PES is the only choice you have; unless you count Rocket League). So... yeah, probably Rocket League.

For those complaining about the jump from Blue to Red in GSC, do remember that by this point, you would have access to trading from other games. By that point at the very end, the game would have expected you to trade your previous mons over and have done high level trading with other GSC players. The difficulty spike is also part of what makes the fight so memorable. If you could steamroll him after breezing through everyone else, you wouldn't remember him so fondly. It's like with Whitney's Miltank, everyone remembers it fondly because it was such a huge difficulty spike for that part of the game. Difficulty spikes are not necessarily bad, they can make a game more unpredictable and memorable. Hell, Metroid Prime was a game that was intentionally designed to have difficulty spikes and that's part of what made it such a memorable and fun experience.

HOLY SMEG!! Red Dwarf series XI AND XII announced! (2016-2017)
Dcubed replied to Dcubed's topic in General Chit Chat
Not the strongest start to the new series, reminded me of Lemons, which was my least favourite episode of Series 10. Hopefully the rest fare better... -
Due to a last minute snafukefuffle, sadly I must declare myself NOT IN¡ tonight Glen-i shall avenge me in my stead! AVENGE ME I SAY!

If you had to start again, where would you begin?
Dcubed replied to nekunando's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Wii is the obvious choice. Gives access to Wii and GCN software, as well as the Wii VC. No brainer really. -
They were until Gen 5 came along

TBF you have to give up your hold item to use a Z move, so no Focus Sash for you. Good luck keeping Eevee alive long enough to use it!

Why yes, I reckon that people these days have gotten more picky (at least across the internet). Look at people's obsession with minor technical details online (to the point where they have become key selling points in marketing and have encouraged the release of mid-gen upgrade consoles), or their obsession with metacritic scores. For these people, a game is either the greatest thing mankind has ever created, or it's a pile of garbage. There's no in-between. Amongst the general public, there's also a matter of convergence as well... Most people will only play what their friends play and that means that they'll stick with buying the same games every year and nothing else. You only have to look at the sales charts to see this phenomenon develop, they used to be much more diverse, now, you see very little variety in what the general public buy.

World Exclusive NX Reveal! You're welcome : peace:

I was a Nintendo kid back in the day, so naturally I was on Team Mario. But I did have a soft spot for the classic Sonics that my friend had. Sonic Adventure was the first Sonic game I actually owned myself, but I caught up with the classic MD titles before long

Thunderforce 3 just got announced for the collection! Not only that, but apparently SEGA also announced that they acquired the rights to Technosoft's entire catelogue! (which should mean more releases of their past titles in the future! ) They also released an updated version of their trailer for the 3rd retail collection 2 more games to be announced still. What could they be...
-
Nah, I'd rather spend £30 on an accessory for a free game than £25 on a completely original retail (in Japan anyway) title. AA6 is too expensive :p

Yeah, but you wouldn't unlock anything if I picked you up and placed you on my Gamepad, so you don't count :p If only you came out just one day before...

Games with brilliant sound effects and sound design
Dcubed replied to Dcubed's topic in General Gaming Discussion
That definitely fits the topic! It's anything involving sound effects or overall sound design (interactive music, surround sound, reverb and EQ effects, clever editing etc). Those levels were pretty great, definitely my favourite part of that game -
I'm pretty certain that release date "leak" is nothing more than someone from the UK Nintendo Store copy/pasting the release date for TPHD/Wolf Link Amiibo and changing the 6 to a 7. That date is a Saturday, nothing ever gets released on a Saturday. Also why would the Nintendo UK Store have access to confidential information like that at this point? The store isn't even run directly by them, it's run by The Hut; so they'd probably get the info at the same time as everyone else. That NVC comment about the controllers using IR is a direct reference to the patent (that we've already seen) that shows that the detachable controllers are connected to the screen via IR (they work exactly the same way that the Circle Pad Pro does on 3DS). There's nothing in that conversation that's actually new, it's just a roundup of the rumours/patent filings that are already floating around.
