This is my Off Thursday, so that of course means that I'm out this week. Thanks for doing a great job with keeping it running so smoothly! I can only hope that whoever ends up taking over will do as good a job as you did! : peace:

Nintendo Direct (3DS Only) - September 1st - 15:00

If that is the full list of games that's going in the collection and not just a list of requested titles, then the mystery game has to be Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder surely? There's no way they'd bother writing a System 32 emulator for just one game (Outrunners) and people have been begging for a home release for that game for decades!

Bloody hell! We haven't had one since March 4th! This had better be good... Talk about a prick tease though! Come on already!! You have to reveal the NX in September! At least announce when it's gonna be announced here!! -
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1271491 New collection announced!

http://ca.ign.com/articles/2016/08/29/the-amazing-survival-story-of-tantalus-the-studio-that-ports-your-favourite-games A nice article about the story of Tantalus (the developer of Twilight Princess HD). Also, confirmation that they're working on an NX title as well

And here it is! The final highlight video from this last League, courtesy of @RedShell : peace: Rumour has it that there's a special surprise awaiting those who watch all the way to the end... Don't click off until it's time to click off

Preeeeety sure I remember joking about the whole right handed Link = motion controls thing ages ago... Either way, Glen-i totally nicked my idea agreed with me well before GAF cottoned onto it, so there :p Either way, if it does happen, it'll be optional this time around instead of mandatory like in Skyward Sword; which is a bit of a shame, considering the awesome stuff they could do with it if it were required like in Skyward Sword, but I'd still be chuffed to bits with having an option at least!
-
Would explain why Link is right handed in Breath of the Wild

What makes FF13 extra funny in hindsight was that it turned out to be a game that everybody ended up hating People did care about it at the time though :p Does beg the question, what major, well known, recently cancelled game could Nintendo try and revive at this point? Can't say that much springs to mind for me...

Atrocious, then good, then mediocre performance for me. Thanks for a fun last night! Looking forward to the new league with you guys! : peace:

Pretty surreal to think that there's now an official way to play Playstation games on PC! How long until we get Playstation Now on Xbox One/NX?

Rather interesting tidbit here... http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1269225 Nintendo just acquired JESNET, a Japanese distributor who... well... distributes! Supposedly they specialised as Nintendo's distributor of retail goods in Japan. So it seems that Nintendo want to bring everything in-house now, from development, to marketing, to development, to debugging. Are Hatina next? Wouldn't surprise me TBH!

You want to be up to date you say? Well look at that... We're now up to date! Thanks @RedShell! : peace:

REVIVAL - F-Zero: Nintendo have been teasing us for far too long now. I want my 30 player online, spherical planetoid gravity busting futuristic racer already! CROSSOVER - Mario VS Sonic: The Platformer: The olympics are nice and all, but we all know that what we really want is to see ol' Red & Blue in a proper, Nintendo made platform game! SEGA can take care of the music though, their music department is rad. EXCLUSIVE - Yooka Laylee sequel/Playtonic's next game: The first Yooka Laylee game is looking fantastic thus far and is coming to Wii U alongside other platforms, but how fantastic would it be to see Nintendo secure Playtonic exclusivity and throw a sizable budget their way?

IN! for the rave! Great choice of tracks BTW
-
Amazing video! I can't believe that I didn't even cotton onto the merchandising opportunity Nintendo have with Tokyo 2020! The chance for brand awareness is mental! Couple that with the inevitable Mario & Sonic at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games (where they may even be involved in the visual design of the actual real life event and all) and... Oh, but it gets even better... Nintendo Land is due to open in Universal Studios Osaka that year as well! The opening ceremony for Tokyo 2020 will be one to remember for sure!

If Nintendo Announced A New F Zero Tomorrow...
Dcubed replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I want to see spherical planetoids as tracks! Imagine having tracks which wrapped around a planetoid, where the tracks would actually criss-cross each other and you'd have cars smashing into each other as they passed by in different directions! Would be a great opportunity to make use of the spinning/barge attacks and all, something you don't normally get to do much in races -
Dragon Quest XI just got re-confirmed for NX... http://gematsu.com/2016/08/dragon-quest-xi-confirmed-nx-simultaneous-launch-ps4-3ds-versions-suggested There's an interesting quote from Hori here... ... which implies that the NX version is not a port of either the 3DS or the PS4 version!

Better late than never, Cha! Muchalaka thanks for your patience! Enjoy! : peace:

Agreed. It does say a lot. It also shows that they want something that doesn't deviate from an established norm in regards to software/hardware design. But it also shows that Nintendo are willing to accede where feasible. Hopefully OS level voice chat is next!
-
True. When you consider that it was made because of requests from 3rd party developers (specifically Activision and Ubisoft IIRC) and designed for them specifically, the design makes sense though. Originally, the Wii U was just gonna re-use the Wii controllers for all multiplayer games (though they were originally planning on having dual Wii U Gamepad games as well). It was only thanks to Acti/Ubi's demands that we got the Wii U Pro Controller at all. Which is why most 1st party Nintendo multiplayer titles didn't support it at all originally (and why it is relegated to a side choice in most 1st party titles in favour of the Wii Remote/Wii Remote & Chuck). Same thing with the Wii Classic Controller Pro and the 3DS Circle Pad Pro as well BTW (You can thank Capcom for those).

Err... The first gen iPhone came out in 2007... That was long after both the PS3 and the Wii launched. Motion controls hadn't really been used by mainstream commercial devices before the Wiimote, outside of niche stuff like certain GBA games, the Dreamcast Fishing Rod, Kirby's tilt N' tumble etc... And the Sixaxis was an obvious reaction to the Wii Remote, given that we had actually seen the revised design (not the boomerang controller) at CES 2006 a few months prior to E3 2006, sans tilt sensor; it was also supposedly a last minute addition that was integrated only a few weeks before E3 2006. So yeah, just one of many examples of Nintendo's ideas being stolen. Not hard to see why they want to keep shtum as long as possible before announcing their stuff now.
-
Actually, Sony tried to copy the Wiimote with the Sixaxis, just about 6 months or so after the Wiimote was unveiled. Granted, it was a crap attempt, shoehorned into an existing controller, but it did happen
