That's probably why the game is getting an update in the first place. They probably originally planned on having a Wii U AC game out this year that the mobile game was going to connect to and after deciding to port it to the NX instead, ended up updating ACNL in order to have something for the mobile game to connect to. That's about the only thing I can imagine justifying releasing a substantial update to a near enough 4 year old game!

You'll still need to do that for egg moves though, so you'll still get to relive those memories

The DS is region free, so that's not what's causing these issues... There's a good chance that you bought a counterfeit copy. Unfortunately DS counterfeit games are now super common on eBay

Well... they're... not. They're download versions of disc games running natively though a modified Wii Mode. They're not emulated like actual VC games are and as such, they don't carry the Virtual Console branding. Simple really This is still probably the most sensible place to talk about them though.

Woah! I missed that one completely! That's a real surprise release! Especially given that it's a Hudson game coming from Konami! And it's a rare game to boot! (Uncommonly appears on eBay and typically goes for anywhere between £30-70) Nice! News about Wii downloads should go in here really. Yeah, they're not actually VC releases, but this is still the most fitting place to talk about them (besides, most people don't care too much about the distinction really :p )

Well this game was done by the same team that did Portable 3rd and apparently that game also went and made things a lot easier to beat as well, so... I guess it's their trademark.

Cheers! Interesting find! I wonder if the IVs are actually being used here in Go, or if they're just being put in place for the eventual ability to transfer Pokemon to S/M? STAB being x1.2 instead of x1.5 is also interesting. I wonder if they might be planning on changing that in S/M as well?

It would've been, but the ability to use the NES CC on my Wii/Wii U is a huge selling point for me, so I'm happy about the choice of connector Besides, there are USB adapters for CCs anyway.

Well the whole idea is that it's meant to be as simple to use and cheap as possible. You can't get any simpler and cheaper than a static plug N' play box. If you want the ability to expand your library, you buy a Wii/Wii U/3DS.

With the way the game works, the only thing they can really do to avoid situations like that is allow certain organisations/persons to ask to have certain Pokestops removed. Pokemon appearances are basically just random, determined only by a couple of basic environmental characteristics (near water, large grassy areas or built up areas). I don't think weather comes into effect, does it?
