We still have south England and London though...
-
Can we annex London to Scotland please? FUCKING GLASGOW YES!!! THERE'S STILL A CHANCE!!
-
Damn... Whole lotta racists out there tonight... It's not looking good

Risa Tabata and Aya Kyogoku spring to mind. Both are senior producers at Nintendo who have worked on the Zelda, Metroid and Animal Crossing series amongst others, you should've consulted me Nintendo have generally been pretty good when it comes to recruiting and promoting female designers. They obviously need to promote them more, but the same could be said of most of their non famous design staff really. Their demographic reach is also pretty evenly split across genders as well. I've always had the impression that they're a good place to work for it you're female in general... Because it's a private matter? Because bringing attention to it would probably only incite more online abuse? Because anything involving internal politics shouldn't be aired publically, but rather dealt with behind closed doors (speaking about her position even before she was fired for moonlighting here; she was already doing PR damage to the company she was working for with her use of social media - and that's something that is not unique to her either; see Chris Pranger and Dan Adelman) Plenty of reasons not to bring attention to it publically. There's a good chance that it was being addressed behind closed doors anyway. Don't be an idiot. The last thing she wants is more online harassment. It's not hard to see why she'd take things personally, given everything that has happened to her. It was a misunderstanding that she got understandably upset about. Nothing to do with her wanting attention.

http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1238179 More proof that the NX is using cartridges...

You know you want it

The original leak said that the Scorpio would be using Occulus, so it's very very likely.

First shot of the Pokemon Amiibo costume!
-
I'm still terribly disappointed that X/Y had absolutely no fusion stuff at all. Especially after B&W2, it felt like they were setting up for some insane Pokefusion stuff. I mean, it's called Pokemon X&Y for goodness sake! DNA! Come on! Now watch Sun and Moon introduce synchro fusions/summons
-
Would be excited, but it's almost certainly 50hz, making it pointless for me. Sigh
-
I wouldn't be so sure of that... Pokemon Shuffle is hardly the big hit that TPC wanted and that checks all the boxes. Go is a substantially bigger investment though, so we'll see... Hopefully it won't turn out to be as crap as it looks so far though.

Not if their plan is to have a consistent schedule of games, like what they've been saying. If they have plenty of other games ready to go for launch, then it's actually better to save Zelda for later than to blow their load right out of the gate. The idea is to not run out of games to release here. After all, BOTW isn't an NX exclusive game, so it isn't even a game that exists to sell the NX concept. Presumably, their other games from Retro and EAD Tokyo are there for that and thus are much more important to the NX's success than BOTW...
-
They probably will end up reusing them in the Gen 8 games on NX (maybe touched up, but I doubt they'll start them all over from scratch. Wouldn't be the first time they've done this either, Pokemon Colloseum/XD reused all the same models and animations from the N64 Pokemon Stadiums for the older mons, so it's not without precedent), but they might use a different rendering style, so they might not end up looking the same there. Who knows? Either way, the out of battle gameplay does look markedly different here (and a real step up from Gen 6!)
-
We have absolutely no idea what they're cooking. All we know for sure is that Pikmin 4 will be there (yes, it's pretty clear that I was wrong about it being a Wii U game now, go ahead and laugh ) and that Retro's new game should rightfully be wrapped up by then (if not now), going by how long it has been since DKCTF. For all we know, they could have another Wii Sports like game in the pipeline (hell it could even be what Retro have been working on). We don't even know what the NX's main USP will be (the New Way of Playing that they've been touting). The NX's big launch game probably isn't gonna be Zelda, just like how TP wasn't THE big game for Wii's launch. This doesn't really make sense to me. If Zelda was their big launch title for NX, then they wouldn't release the console/handheld/whatever without it. So why announce a March release date for the NX if you're not confident that your big launch title is gonna be ready in time for it? At this point, I don't think they really care anymore :p
-
If it was gonna be a launch title, I reckon they would've gone ahead and said so. The fact that they're not committing to a release month or even quarter tells you all you need to know. But I'm guessing May-June. Mostly just gut feeling, but there is precedent for a summer Zelda release worldwide near to a hardware launch (OoT 3D)
-
Yup. Felt stupid after not noticing it myself :p BTW, I'm gonna go on record here and state that I actually don't think Zelda BOTW will be a launch title... (it'll be near launch though I reckon; probably like May-June) I also suspect that most of the near launch NX exclusive games would've started off as Wii U titles. It's actually standard fare for Nintendo to push their late gen titles to their next platform and almost all of their launch titles started early development on previous hardware (even Mario 64 spent its early development life on the Super FX dev kits for instance; while all of their Wii launch titles were made on GCN dev kits with Wiimotes attached - some like Wario Ware SM not even getting widescreen support added). If they hadn't announced BOTW for Wii U to begin with and just showed it for NX, you'd probably be none the wiser really.
-
BTW, someone pointed out something that I'm surprised that I didn't cop onto myself... The scrolling menu in BOTW? Seems like it could be a bit clunky when you have tons of items, doesn't it? Well, what if they're designed for the NX controller having the shoulder button scroll wheels? Now the menu design suddenly makes a lot more sense
-
Well the battles aren't gonna look much different because they are re-using the same 3D models and they're using the same flat, cel-shading rendering style. The non battle gameplay does look very different though.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Dcubed replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I bet that the story will generally be very light. The game is clearly modelled after Xenoblade X, so I reckon it'll follow suit. -
Remember that they said they want to have a steady stream of games for NX. They're probably actually gonna be sitting on completed games so that they can spread the schedule out. Pikmin 4 is probably already done now, while Retro's next game may already be complete (DKCTF came out November 2013, that's a really long time ago!) The new Mario might be nearing completion, but it doesn't mean that they have to release it straight away...

Absolutely awful night for me. 3rd GP wasn't so bad though... Guess Classic Mode is just more me :p
-
There's some clever stuff they're doing with the paint here, the part with Shufflegate was clever and really funny I don't mind them continuing on from where Sticker Star left off because I'm one of those weirdos who actually really enjoyed Sticker Star. I'm still not really thrilled at the idea of having a cast of standard looking Toads make up the majority of characters in the game though...

Come on Shibata... Gimme my release today!!! Edit: Nope. Not happening, buuuuutttt... October 21st in Europe. Physical and digital.
-
Yup! I like the look of this. I like how it forces you to use up ALL of your rolls before allowing you to end your turn as well. Hopefully the other modes will follow suit and be nice and strategic as well As soon as she started listing the Amiibos, I knew she'd end on Boo

Looks a lot like My Life As A King, but you get to visit the dungeons and fight in realtime/solve puzzles etc instead of sending others off to do it for you. Looks pretty cool
