Cool idea for a topic! For me? The number one thing that makes a game feel frustrating and unfair is a poorly designed gameplay camera. Any time where you can't clearly see what you need to interact with is a sure-fire recipe for a miserable time. Oh No! My PTSD has come back to haunt me! Difficult doesn't have to mean frustrating. Donkey Kong Country Returns & Tropical Freeze are great examples of games that are hard as nails, but always feel fun and fair; no matter how many times you die. Super Mario Sunshine though? That shit is aggrevating!

Super Mario Maker 2 challenge - June challenge has started!

That sounds fun! One course part and rule/limit from each of us. What horrible monstrosity will we create? Find out next week! -
Hot damn! This soundtrack is HOT FIRE! Just some of my favourite tracks

The thing is barely portable as it is!! You want it even bigger!?

Yeah. AFAIK, Nintendo UK are not repairing drifting Joy-Cons for free outside of their warrenty period (unlike NOA)
-
I love the Joy-con design... on paper. But sadly, it just doesn't work in the real world. If it actually functioned as advertised, it would be an amazing controller. Unfortuntely that's just not the case in reality. The Bluetooth chip inside it is so hilariously weak that it loses signal from just your own bloody hands covering it up! And let's not even get into the drifting control sticks issue that literally makes games unplayable. It's the worst built controller that Nintendo has ever made; and when that includes the N64 controller and its broken analog stick design? Yeah, that's saying something! The concept is amazing, but sadly the build quality is so unbelievably shoddy that it literally all falls apart at the seams. Fixing the Joy-cons absolutely NEEDS to be Nintendo's top priority with any Switch redesign or successor. Second priority is packing in an Active Stylus in the box. Gimme that proper DS/Wii U style Touchscreen gameplay back again!
-
“Improved Interactivity” sounds like it comes with an Active Stylus!! God I hope that’s true!! My Ultra Stylus has been an absolute game changer and if it means we’ll start seeing games like Kirby & The Rainbow Curse again? Sign me up!

I can believe that. Paper Mario was always due for July, and Pikmin 3 DX has been sitting in Nintendo's vaults for over a year now. I can't see SM3DW DX being pushed back until 2021 though. The game is done, and has been done for ages now. It'll be their big November title (mostly because they have nothing else available other than Metroid Prime Trilogy HD).

Finally beat the game! Time for a shameless plug... Click the picture to see my review for the main site Overall I think it's a very interesting game. There's a lot more I can talk about with it, but obviously I didn't want to bog down the review with too many nitty gritty details and spoilers. It's really very odd overall, and I found it actually quite a challenge to review. There's a LOT of things I absolutely love about this game, but there's also a lot I hate. It's not the slam dunk that Color Splash was for me, but there's a lot going for it too. A very weird & experimental take on Paper Mario that hits as often as it misses. Well worth playing for those good bits though! Also. Can we just talk about this... Holy Jesus Hell! They really snuck some stuff past the censors with this game! I love it! Also, I bloody love the musical numbers, and the Non-Standard Game Overs in this game (yes I deliberately tripped them; I couldn't help myself! - Though Color Splash did have more of them mind you). The Legion of Stationary are just great though! Loved every moment with them!

@drahkon You fool! What are you even doing!? Don't fold, be bold!
-
Don’t be stupid. Hyrule Warriors is obviously a mainline Zelda game AND a mainline Dynasty Warriors game. They are now part of the same universe. Lu Bu is my favourite Zelda character!

Hardware looks good in person. I dig the understated design (literally the polar opposite of the "You Will Be Lucky To Grace Your Living Room With Our Presence" PS5 design!), and it has a lot of nice little touches that give off a premium feel to the overall design. The mini fridge that could indeed!
-
First look at the new dashboard... Looks nice. The phone integration is also really cool.
-
Damn that sucks... game looks really fun too. Guess that means that Miles Morales will be the only PS5 exclusive game available for launch then. Better than the Series X's literal nothing, but not exactly great.
-
I’d be VERY surprised if Series X was a “mere” $599.99. I’m actually expecting it to be substantially higher. Likewise, I’d be surprised if PS5 wasn’t more expensive than that too (maybe the Digital Only model might make it? They’d be taking a substantial loss on each unit though... but perhaps they’re expecting the higher margins on PSN sales to make up for the shortfall?)
-
Nope. People have already tried that in Dolphin. Doesn’t work. Analog sticks are limited to two axis; Wiimote Plus uses 3.
-
Joy-cons can be used on Switch Lite anyway. You know, just like Ring Fit Adventure and Super Mario Party...
-
It would just require split Joy-Cons. You know, the controllers that come in the box. There are plenty of Joy-con only Switch games already. Why would this be any different? The game is intrinsically ties to its motion control gameplay; it’s the only sensible option.

Unfortunately... I tried to join, but out internet connection just wouldn’t have it. sigh...

If you guys are playing tomorrow, I’ll gladly join in! Its been far too long!

Well, I got my shell done by Funny Playing rather than RetroSix... The original GBA d-pad was never the best, so if they’re doing an improved membrane, I might well be interested actually! Thanks for the heads up
-
Playing on my modded GBA... Man, I wish that DS/3DS could get this treatment... What a difference the new IPS screen and CleanJuice battery makes! Feels like something that was just released today! (Only with games that are actually good, and not junk food shit... unlike most games today!) Maybe in about 15-20 years we’ll finally get a DS/3DS that doesn’t have a shit screen...

Honestly? Microsoft might as well delay the console into 2021. There’s literally no native software going to be available for it. It’ll be the first ever console to literally launch with no games (and not in a jokey sense!)
