New Switch revision announced (NOT the Switch Lite!)
Helmsly replied to Dcubed's topic in Nintendo Gaming
No, but I would have assumed one of the main reasons for having a handheld focused Switch would be the improved battery life (as well as having a smaller console of course). If the Lite only adds half an hour to the battery over the current model, and then just a few days later they announce this upgraded model will boost the battery life up to 9 hours then one of the main reasons for the Switch lite has been outdone by already. And the Switch Lite isn't really that much smaller anyway. Honestly, I'm confused here. Why didn't Nintendo just wait and put this new chip in the Switch lite? The only benefit i can see to buying a Switch lite now, is the price. -
Edit- Didn't see there was a topic about this already

I really like the Splatoon theme, it suits Tetris so well:

Just announced: So just two games this month. The Wrecking Crew and Donkey Kong 3

Yeah it’s a little odd. All I can think of is that, being that this physical release includes the offline mode DLC , it’ll worth it for people that just want to play local multiplayer etc but have no interest in the online modes. The only other reason I can think of would be if nintendo are planing to remove it from switch online service at some point? ( I doubt that though). In other news: Splatoon crossover event!

Tetris 99 is getting a physical release:

Yeah, its a shame that they threw everything out the window after the Wii U. Miiverse was a pretty great feature when it was integrated into a game, such as comments showing up in-game in Mario Maker levels, bottles in Wind Waker HD and even messages on the game over screens in Mario 3D World. It had so much potential and i feel would have added value to their online service once they started charging for it.

Just got back after seeing it, really enjoyed it.

I just got back into this game since they added the Ecto 1, I'd forgotten how much fun it is. Apparently this game has crossplay (I own it on Steam) so if there is room in the future I'd like the join you guys, assuming Switch players and Steam players can join up

Really nice comparrison/review video from Nerrel. I agree with pretty much everything he says here about Zelda OoT 3D:

WWE will be leaving Sky and moving to BT sport from January 2020: This is Kinda surreal as Sky has been the home of WWE/WWF since the late 80's when I first started watching. If I remember correctly it was one of the main reasons people in the UK bought Sky back then. Won't effect me personally as I've not watched any of the current stuff in a few years now.

I like the way Nintendo designed their booth this year. The diorama's in the Link between Worlds area: The spooky Luigi's mansion 3 area was looked pretty great too:

PSO 2 is technically already on Switch, as its been on the Japanese eshop for about a year as 'PSO2 Cloud'. From what I understand, its a streaming version of the game much like Resident Evil 7 on the switch is. So perhaps if the western release of PSO 2 comes to the Switch, it might just be this version. Personally I'd prefer a full download version. I think the full game is pretty big now, since it houses 7 years worth of updates and content, which might be why Sega made the switch version the way they did.

Yeah, I'm catching up on the treehouse stream and it look pretty good. I liked the way the dev was talking about how much attention they spent on the camera, and programed it to subtly show the player where things are and where to go. The controls looked really smooth too.

So apparently its a timed exclusive for Epic's store and will eventually come to Steam: https://www.pcgamer.com/shenmue-3-is-a-1-year-epic-exclusive-publisher-looking-into-kickstarter-refunds/?utm_content=buffer04af0&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter&utm_campaign=buffer-pcgamertw Separate to that, here's a gameplay clip from IGN japan:

I loved every section of that Direct. So many games in 40 minutes and some very cool surprises, like Breath of the Wild 2. Also that Banjo Smash reveal trailer was fantastic

Genuinely angry over the PC version going to Epic over Steam.

I was going to say the same thing. I have to assume a lot of these people cheering are plants/actors? Or at least I hope so...

There is something very satisfying about seeing a yellowing snes get cleaned up like this:

I have a few friends I've kept in contact with that I originally became friends with back on PSO on the gamcube, and its a been a running joke among us each year to say a western release of PSO 2 will get announced at E3 since Sega said they were gonna do a western release all the way back in 2012. And it actually happened this time! I was genuinely shocked. I'm hoping this comes to the Switch, which I assume it will since the Japanese eshop already has it. I played the Japanese version for a while years back and enjoyed it.

The Ghostbuster's Fanfest in LA had had a small conference panel about this game, apparently it will ship without the online mode but it will be added in via a patch at a later date. However, it will be rebuilt from the ground up, which is something I wasn't expecting at all.
