  1. I’ve encountered what appears to be a bug where images of Spirits I’ve collected have been replaced with the Smash Bros logo.... This looks to have happened with all the additional spirits added (I.e., from Link’s Awakening onwards). Has anyone else encounters the same problem or know how to fix it? I’ve only found one other reported online and they cleared their system cache. I tried this and it didn’t solve the problem.
  2. Wow where did this come from? Lovely surprise and looks to be back to the RPG format. I loved Paper Mario 64 & Thousand Year Door. The writing is usually very good too & wittier than you’d expect. I really hope it follows the quality of these than the more recent outings. I am excited by this!
  3. Thanks all for your help everyone, the advice, while not exactly hyping up any of the choices, has been incredibly helpful & appreciated. Earthbound it is! I’m just getting started with the whimsical adventure. I know I’m not playing it now, but I’m pleased that the hours I put into the original GBA Golden Sun games will at least help me understand Dark Dawn more when I get around to playing it. Thanks for your help!
  4. Ok, I may need some advice... I’m going through my 3DS backlog and I fancy ploughing through a RPG. I’m deciding between three I have but haven’t started yet: Earthbound, Xenoblade Chronicles or Golden Sun Dark Dawn... I’m thinking Earthbound (can’t believe I downloaded it but haven’t played it yet), but Nick’s positive talk on Xenoblade 2 in the latest N-E Cafe podcast has made me think twice (coupled with the latest rumour of more Mother news before the end of the year, so should I wait?) What do you fine folk recommend? 😃
  5. I do agree, although for me it depends on how else the reviewer critiques the game. I do like to know how enhanced versions compare to the original games, however your view about the reviewer also needing to critique the gameplay as a new game are valid for me too. I like to read the overall score / review as a new game, but referencing the original & mentioning how it compares and even whether it is worth getting if you own the original.
  6. Haha, you’re right there! I’m almost relieved I didn’t know that one! Midway through the latest one & TT guess:
  7. Another good one this week. I have no idea of the transition tunes, and the change in tone of the last one threw me even more! Random guess:
  8. Yep, thirded! It was definitely better than the recent TV tapings and I guess the company & talents are trying to find the best way to present the matches when there’s no audience or atmosphere. I like it when they can convey their character throughout the match & constantly talking. The likes of Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, Charlotte, Ziggler, Asuka & Alexa Bliss I thought all did this especially well. WrestleMania for me is big on the ‘pomp & circumstance’ which sadly due to the situation, this was sorely lacking. Still, at least we got to experience that Boneyard match!
  9. How is everyone doing with keeping fit & healthy at the moment? No gyms available but an opportunity to go out for a run/ride each day and things you can try at home.
  10. So tonight and tomorrow is WrestleMania. What a bizarre time & it still feels strange and wrong to me that this is even happening. I understand the desire to give people at home respite for a few hours from the challenges of the world right now, but the product has suffered lately as a result, and I don’t feel it’s worth risking the wrestlers and staff there to do so. Saying all that, since it has all been recorded and can’t be changed now, I wonder what they’ll do technically to make this event seem big and not just remind people that there’s no crowd.
  11. I was a little late to the Shantae party, but having just completed the first 3 games I’m looking forward to this! I’ve been really impressed at the games so far, and seeing how the mechanics have evolved over time. The witty writing & great music has been consistent, although I’m a little worried about starting HGH following the earlier comments from people.
  12. I agree completely! It will do well to improve the visibility and popularity of Arms. I’m still disappointed though as there are so many other franchises I’d like to see recognised.
  13. Ori & the Blind Forest is my vote.
  14. Is Shadow of the Colossus a long game? I’m excited as it’s one of those games I’ve always wanted to experience. With my current backlog of games it would be good to know if it’s likely to consume hours of my time so I can plan whether to play it now or wait until I have enough time to fully enjoy it.
  15. Reading the news today it sounds like the major supermarkets are going on recruitment drives for temporary staff. I think it was Asda that specifically mentioned offering temp jobs to those that had recently lost theirs, so you’ve got a good chance. I think that’s a good thing. Provided they’re all taking the necessary precautions for their staff, it will help with the panic-buying madness and provide some money for people.
  16. I enjoyed it and always happy to hear more. It felt the right level to be able to join in & guess while listening. I wouldn’t want it to completely replace the regular discussions, but for me it definitely added to the Podcast (similar to the episode where you guessed the various Christmas tunes) and I certainly enjoyed it more as a result. Good work!
  17. Thanks @S.C.G, I’m certainly keeping my fingers crossed! It’s currently sitting at just over £50 with half-a-week left so hoping for a late flurry! @Hero-of-Time certainly worth playing at some point. It’s a strange one, although I enjoyed the way your animal(?) evolved and that you had to play through it multiple times if you wanted to get the different evolutionary paths. Sadly the gameplay is a little basic. It was a neat concept and the block characters worked on its favour to show clearly the strength of the animals. One to say you’ve played it, but maybe not on anyone’s “Best Of” lists.
  18. As an aside, if anyone is interested in collecting GameCube games, I’ve put in most of my collection individually on eBay, to end next Sunday. This includes many of the usual suspects, but also includes some of the rarer ones such as Chibi-Robo and the bizarre game Cubivore (US version since it never came out in Europe). Sad to see them go, but with such a gaming backlog I’m so unlikely to play them again (until Nintendo reveal some form of GameCube-mini or Virtual Console GameCube in the far-off future!).
  19. I can empathise. I thought I’d finally gotten rid of all mine until I recently discovered another box of NGamer magazines, some of which I was mentioned in. Needless to say I’m now wrestling with my conscience again(!) in regards to throwing these out!
  20. Crank up that echo! 😁 Well done @Jonnas
  21. I bought them off eBay, but they’re unfortunately no longer being sold. I’ve attached a picture of the original eBay item if that helps. They’re not quite as flush & secure as the original 3DS’s ones, but they rarely fall out, even when I try vigourously shaking my console! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. I agree about this iteration being the best model. I hunted down some 3rd party telescopic styluses on eBay for £2. I didn’t hold out much hope but they work really well & stay in for the most part. I’ve had them fall out on occasion following some vigour is shaking, but they’ve been worth it rather than having to use the “twiglet” sized one!
  23. Two Point Hospital finally gets it’s console release today. This is likely to be my first Day One eShop purchase (for Switch anyway)!
  24. Nice one @Vileplume2000. I’ve done the same as you. I figured I would be picking up the game anyway as they seem pretty reliable (& the Switch version was virtually complete anyway) and I enjoy Platinum’s games and this is just a small way of supporting them, and hopefully opening Nintendo’s eyes to their importance / popularity.
  25. Wow there’s a huge amount to take in over the past couple of pages... so I’ll keep my post short! Prediction: Metroid Dread is alive & well and will be released as a 2D platformer before Pikmin 4, despite our flowery friends having been rumoured to have been finished years ago! In regards to people discussing their ‘Best of’ lists: I enjoy reading / listening to other people’s views, and often hearing them talk lavishly about a game I enjoyed makes me remember just why I enjoyed it so much. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinions and it’s fun to agree or disagree with them, and usually are easy topics to discuss.
