Come on, you know who Dr. Strange is! He's the guy Orpheus on The Venture Bros. is a parody of.

I don't think I like what you're implying. Crude and awful jokes, kids watching porn, big penises... that's really more ReZ's domain.

This is what happens when you skip sidequests! Serves you right.

I thought this was pretty fun! And unlike Trine, this actually reminded me of The Lost Vikings because of the way the characters had to work together, even if their special abilities were only ever useful in their specific puzzle rooms. The only downside was going through the game three times to play every puzzle room. Getting every ending would require five playthroughs, but I can't be bothered with that.

I was somewhere between age ten and twelve and flipping through a book called something along the lines of Old Ladies Don't Lay Eggs in the school's library. I eventually turned to a page with a naked cartoon man and a naked cartoon woman and an arrow pointing from the penis to the vagina with the words 'this goes here'. The concept seemed so bizarre to me that I decided the whole book must be an elaborate joke. And that was the last time I ever thought about sex.

Speaking of MegaTen, Atlus is translating the 3DS port of Soul Hackers, so that might be worth playing if it makes it over here. It's supposed to have one of the better stories in the franchise. Lance beats sword, sword beats axe, and axe beats lance. -
Well, this is awkward. I can see all of those buttons. Stop being losers/using the outdated stretchable theme.

No wonder people don't know how to drive in the snow if driving instructors take the day off when it's snowing! :p

Well, that's the poll ruined, then. Someone close the thread.

Roy was only in Melee to advertise the latest Fire Emblem at the time and Ike only replaced him in Brawl to advertise what was the latest Fire Emblem when that game was released, so I'd expect they'll replace Ike with whoever the latest fresh-faced guy with blue hair happens to be when the new game is out. Probably that guy from the 3DS game. He has blue hair, right? :p

I once dreamed that I had sex with my sister outside a bus stop. I'll let you know when that turns out to be a true.

Is there, though?

"... And then Bruce Willis punched the bad guy in the face and then he was suddenly back in high school and he wasn't wearing any clothes so he decided to fly back home and then it was nighttime and there was a red car driving on the road and I recognized the people in it even though I couldn't see what they looked like and then Bruce Willis's teeth fell out."

Hedgehogs don't have beaks. I also found this one: Which I think is supposed to be a hedgehog? His name is Magnus the Hedgehog, but he's described as "a go-getter wolf", so Lord knows. He was kind and trustworthy and married the love of his life, but then he died at age thirty.

Now there's a quote they should put on the cover! :p

This sounds awesome. I love Ghost Trick and it's not too long, so there's something you could play while you wait for 999. Kingdom Hearts on the DS is trash, so I'd skip both of those unless you absolutely must play every game in the series.

All DS games that are region-free on the DS (so, most of them) are also region-free on the 3DS. I didn't even think to check VGP, which is funny, because that's where I bought the game from back in the day. I would definitely make 999 a priority, though. I don't need to know what twenty DS games you still need to play to know that 999 is better than most of them.

That 'hedgehog' thing is awesome. I can't believe I've never tried that before! Now that's just uncanny.
-
Yeah, of course I was joking. Ahahaha.

Amazon.co.uk still has plenty of copies of 999 in stock. I think they reprinted the game in preparation for the sequel. You can play Virtue's Last Reward without having played 999, but some revelations won't have the same impact and yeah, it does spoil some of the biggest plot twists in the first game. You should definitely start at the beginning, and 999 is awesome anyway, so you've got nothing to lose.

Seriously though, what happened to the cel shading? And also, okay, sure, it's early days yet and the game isn't out until later this year and lots of things can change, but Nintendo announce a remake of one of their most beautiful games ever and this is how they choose to do it? Blue lighting, crazy contrast, bloom everywhere and plastic-looking characters? Either they have no idea what made The Wind Waker so beautiful, or Iwata only told them they were making this remake on Tuesday. I must be getting old.

Well, first I'd say that you should definitely start by playing 999 on the DS first, because it'd suck if you enjoyed this game and ended up spoiling its predecessor in the process. I haven't played Another Code (it just looks really boring and the plot seems pedestrian at best), but it's really the story that makes Virtue's Last Reward so great. I can't imagine you'd get a good grasp of what's going on in ten minutes, and it's the kind of game that gets more interesting the further you get into the story. It's definitely worth playing if you enjoy great stories. As for the difficulty level, you can play puzzle rooms on easy, at which point the other characters will outright give you the solution to some puzzles if you're stuck long enough, so the game really isn't that hard.
