  1. Haha yes! I remember cycling to a new friend's house. he had told me his address at school, something like 23 Ashburn somethingorother, with some vague instructions. I was sitting outside this house for at least 20 mins. I was knocking on the door and ringing the bell and all sorts. I even tried next door, and no response, even though I'm fairly sure I saw a curtain flutter. I ended up having to cycle over to another mate's house to get directions. Turned out I was sitting at 23 Ashburn Crescent, literally 30 yards away was Ashburn Close. D'oh!
  2. YOU'RE no moon.
  3. I think diageo and heroicjanitor are the most suspicious, and I think lynching one of them will give us info - if they're evil, the other is likely, too. If they're not then Maddog/nintendohnut come into the fore (though I don't think they're as bad).
  4. ... I pick a target to protect... It's precisely how protector's work, isn't it? Anyone to targets the person I protect will be unable to carry out their ability. I don't get why it's interesting/different to usual... ...
  5. they're... the same thing, aren't they? Protecting people = roleblocking other people, essentially. The headbonking is just jonnas' way of describing it. Anyway!
  6. Honestly, if I was mafia why would I target the people I have? If I'm mafia then essentially I just told you 4 other mafiosos! If I'm killed then look at the votes for me!
  7. That's not a moon!
  8. You don't need to vote for me 'to put the pressure on, you can just wait a couple of hours for me to check the thread :P I targetted Aqui|a on night 1, Paj Meen Ah on night 2, Cube on night 3, Diageo on night 4. I've been protecting those who I thought may be targetted for death - Aqui|a because he's relatively new and people will have no sympathy for him, the rest just based on how the day phases seemed to pan out. Zell, Peeps, heroicjanitor and Diageo all jumped on me. I think it was peeps who did so because I was a protector, which is a bit daft. But I'm going to Changevote: Diageo because he's been dicking about and, frankly, padding out this thread and making it a chore to read.
  9. I heard that the books are quite different - akin to how dexter derailed the books in favour of how the show went. While Walking Dead should encourage people to read the comics, I don't think True Blood has the same appeal... The show stretches my patience at times, so I don't think the books will do me any good. Finished the season - lots of lovely cliffhangers and returning to status-quo. I particularly enjoyed Russel's burial - reminded me of what happened to Angel at the end of season... 3? only much much more inhumane. Glad they didn't get rid of the character altogether. My favourite character is easily Terry. This season wasn't his strongest, but he's such a gem. As for my favourite season? I think this was better than 2, but 1 is still the winner for me.
  10. this site suggests there are 10, which you can buy for $50 altogether. Not sure if I'll ever bother reading them though, if I'm honest. I'm about 10 mins into the final ep of the season, so I'll probably (double)post (automerge) again in a bit.
  11. I lolled. Floating Apple Bug would make a great band name.
  12. I really should keep note. Each time a nostalgia thread comes up I have nothing to add! But thanks for making the thread it's made my mind put its hat on and take a trip down ol' memory lane. Mmm!
  13. My grandad likes to ramble on about various things, and I mostly sit and listen. He's an old codger and he's had an interesting life - even if I've heard the story already/two minutes earlier, it's one of few joys he seems to have. My nan is sharp and doesn't do teh rambling thing, she just says things like "help yourself to the crisps, I don't need them" then after two packs she says "WHERE HAVE ALL THE CRISPS GONE?!"... My other nan had a stroke and most people don't seem to have to patience to talk to her but I think I do. I like to think that most old people ramble on purpose, and are laughing at our politeness inside. If they're not related to me then I find it way more agitating... but I still nod along!
  14. Currently on s03e09, literally half-way through the ep and I had to pause it -- I love how Russel has Talbot (or whatever his name is) in a glass urn and carries it about.
  15. Er... surely rez should just give both initials? I don't see why he's being hesitant about that... Changevote: ReZ for the lols.
  16. House survived teh night! Well I made this thread because I know a lot of my smoker friends still haven't told their parents. generally I feel comfortable enough to tell my parents anything. I guess knocking someone up is a whole other territory. My sister didn't let the family know 'til she was 3 months gone (just in case, I guess), but Murray and Murr(eeey!) mention something I can't really contemplate, can't really imagine.
  17. I never see a problem with 'cheating'. I always do it if the ref gives me the opportunity. A surprise 1-0 win! Nice way to end the season. My dev values are predominantly 11-13 now. I'm hoping to get two double-jumps, from my keeper and from a defender. My defense has always been my strong point. I should've tried to jack up my strikers, but instead I think I'll be left with a lot of driftwood. Oh dear.
  18. Day 5 is over. Tellyn was Moses, a liberal. Night 5 begins now. Send in them PMs! Let's get it going! And, hey, let's say 48 hours to get them in. Cube Dan-likes-trees Diageo Dyson Eenuh Heroicjanitor Maddog Nintendohnut Paj Meen Ah ReZ The Peeps Zell
  19. Votes n'stuff; 7 Is majority Tellyn (6) Peeps, ReZ, Diageo, Heroicjanitor, Cube Diageo (1) Maddog
  20. Sméagol is some weird secret genius, I swear.
  21. Watched the first two eps and I've loved it all so far. From Coogan's "countryside" music choice to the relentless tabletop impressions, it's just great stuff. because you know that they're two real-life friends improvising/performing it adds to the detail, it adds to the banter. And what banter! It's a chucklesome tirade of wit and fun... I hear this is a psuedo-sequel to something they did together before, set on... a cruise, I think? I totally missed that and regret doing so. Wonderful, confident stuff. Isn't it curious how the best Brit comedy seems to be from the 'previous' generation? Harry and Paul, Armstrong and Miller and these guys. The BBC has done well.
  22. In my house, smoking is allowed -- but only downstairs. I'm staying in the attic room. It's not a massive house - ground floor is kitchen and lounge, next floor up is two bedrooms and a loo, then there's me. So I'm a smoker, but also a bit of a night-owl. Generally speaking, the rest of the house goes to bed by 11pm, and generally speaking, I wait 'bout an hour after that before I open one of my roof-windows and have a crafty cigarette. But it's been raining for... like, three hours straight! I could sneak downstairs quietly and light one up (I probably will, actually), or I could risk opening a window up here and leaning out (will get windswept and wet. Bad idea). So anyway - the purpose of THIS opaque thread -- what do your parents NOT know about you? (here, the case is that my dad and his wife don't know I smoke up here when they're asleep. It's probably the ONLY stupid secret I keep from them)
  23. Well for it to be convincing you'd have to add a whole new paragraph, and the time it takes to write a new paragraph in a busy and popular thread is a time of risk - someone might see the original post and then notice your alteration and raise the alert. if it bothers the GM that much, then they could enforce a rule of their own commanding players to not post unless someone else has posted after them. You should question why the rule's there in the first place, and remember that technically you're playing amongst friends, and any such loophole devilry will be remembered even when the game is ended. Rather than trying to change the system that houses the game, try changing the game? The automerge function is something we've abided by for a long time, and it's not really that big an issue.
  24. Dude - I dunno if you've already done it, but go to the milk bar and buy the ghost map thing offa the dude behind the counter. Go to the location and you do a sort of arena-type thing where you essentially stock up on a couple of small medkits and a large one, some iron bars, a shovel and a pick-axe and-- dude, I won't spoil the surprise, but when you get to the final room... DAMN I was surprised by what I got. A good idea is to perhaps do a few of the rooms (once you clear the room you enter the door behind you - it will respawn new enemies) then leave. You can restart the challenge and reap a few more goodies. Sorta sad that I didn't farm it a bit... but once you get to the end you'll probably agree with me that it's well worth finishing. EDIT: Just actually left/completed the side-mission and the portal's still there. Will Be Back For More. I bought a car - quinn's one. I've reached 97mph~ downhill, top speed is normally 80. It burns through fuel like a mofo and is dented real easily, plus the turning is a bitch... but it gets me places quick. May buy a different car in a bit to see if it'll let me keep both. Honestly, each session I've had with this game has thrown up a totally different experience so far. Like you, I don't feel like I'm very far into the game - but I'd hazard a guess at maybe 3 'episodes'. I've plugged about 8-9 hours into this so far (quite fun to see how drastically my leaderboard ranking has altered day-by-day, from nearly all S rank a couple of days ago to all C's again!) and while I feel like there's a lot left to go, I get the impression the storyline will finish sooner than I reckon, leaving the side-quests to complete. Once I've done the story and as much of the side-quest/card-collecting as I can from the map I'll check the achievements. 1000 spread over 12 achievements is a bit mental. No doubt one of them is for completing the game on hard. Cripes.
