I love you for saying that, nintendohnut! MWAH!

That's right. The vendor did not sell her products. They were prizes, and three five-minute rounds had to be endured, Human-Spider style! *hopes that reference is correct*

That's right. A Papier mache tortoise. For my girlfriend. We went to a farm market stall museum thing today and when the girls were separated us boys decided to buy presents for our wenches because we're stupid like that. Before she spotted us sitting down, she went via the same stall and bout the same thing. ONLY MINE WAS MASSIVE. That isn't what she says very often. But anyway. What?

Typical argos quality, that is.

Nice one Do I get a medal for longest mafia ever? EDIT: Shit lol, mine totally isn't the longest! Wow.

I didn't notice it 'til it was pointed out. People wanted additional thanks stuff. These stats are readily available in profiles. I think having them here goes against the reasoning behind getting rid of post counts.

I got a Ted because it's a family thing. We all still have our first ted's somewhere or other. Buying for the parents is definitely a great idea!

It's to do with the bear's eyes/stitching and stuff. below 3 years old they'll chew the fuck out of anything so things need to be made to a higher standard. I bought my neice a piglet, was going to get her eeyore but that was 3+ (probably because of the hair?I dunno).
-
What's your budget? I went for a Big Teddy. Knowing what they already had is useful - my dad bought my sister a mobile, turns out she already had the exact same one. I wish I'd gotten my sister a bunch of DVDs as she's got a lot of 'free' time. I think that toys are mostly useless at this age, so commemorative stuff is an avenue of thought I've stood at the end of and peered briefly down. P.S. Build-a-bear is quite expensive, and *IIRC* not suitable for newborns. Gotta be extra sure about that bit!

t'was an interesting concept for a game, but it died when it did because it was too oblique. Sidebar; please, please stop trying so hard to remind us that you're, y'know, here. One locked thread and two epic bumpages means you need to chiiilll.- 200 replies

Why don't you PM those above you in the list to see what they think? We've made a list, whether it's a good thing or not, so respect it while it lasts. Genuinely, I preferred it when we only had one game at a time. I really struggle to keep up with everything. (yes, I know, don't sign up for as many. But some games you want to play because you know the GM will make it awesome and you don't want to miss out!)

do it yourself Mystery Science Theater 3000 - it's a film where you sit and take the piss out of it extensively. It motivates hilarity with ease. Such films are and should be part of a staple diet of Things To Do When You Have No Money On A Friday Night Out. Your last sentence is gay.

An introductory thread is a great idea, well done I know someone who liked the idea at first, but was overwhelmed when I showed them a thread. To add; Aims The townies aim to root out and boot out any threats to them, typically the mafia, though some games have added threats. The mafia aim to kill enough townies and live long enough themselves to attain a voting majority. Sometimes there are neutrals, who may have their own agendas. Write-ups The GM (games master) typically announces when a phase is over. At the end of the Day Phase, (s)he will summarise the vote tally and, should a player have been lynched, typically will announce their alignment and/or role. When a night phase is over, the GM will write a summary of the events of the night - that is, an account of how people's targets played out. The GM may also PM certain players at this stage, depending on their role. The write-up is home to the clues that will shape much of the day-phase discussion. ... All I could think of to add. Feel free to add to your OP in revised form, if you wish

As I mentioned - In saw 2/3 there was a fat couple on the front row seemingly having sex. She was sitting on him facing the audience... It was weird. They cackled with laughter and left about 10 mins into the movie. When I went to see Team America, my mate sitting next to me was That Awkward Guy Who Laughs At Everything By Himself. People were laughing at him. It was embarassing.

Doomsday is one of the best movies to DIYMST3K with beers and mates. It has a role on this earth.

Bard said what I said! :P Pacifists isn't passivist, therefore I reject the idea that pacifists support totalitarianism because they're 'standing by' and 'allowing' such a regime to occur.
-
Yay! Muchos gracias, dudes and dudettes I'm psyched for this.
-
Is that quote saying that pacifists admire totalitarianism, or that pacifists hate westerners, as they [the westerners] admire totalitarianism? Presumably the latter, in which case I'd say the statement is going to be true. Partly because, arguably, it's the West that instigates everything it's involved in - the west goes and 'frees' a country somewhere. The West is teh active party in the 'war'.

Sin City = one of the best and most accurate adaptations for a graphic novel. TREE FAIL! Poor trees.

Slumdog is a critic's nightmare because it's a fantastic director's cash-in oscar-begging movie. The man himself is ashamed. 28 days or whatever it's called his another step into hollywood but I think Boyle is trying to worm his way down a slim line between recognition both as a good director and as a box office hit. Slumdog is not a bad movie, it just panders to the checklist of potential Oscar territory, which means sentimentality and ignorant tom-foolery with stereotypes.

Don't know if it bothers anyone - but the achievements for difficulty do not stack. I imagine a run-through on easy wouldn't be too tribblesome, so I may endeavour that soon - but I'll hold Hard off 'til later.

Elektra is the first film I can think of that I switched off. Never walked out of a cinema (have wanted to a couple of times, but I feel like I can't if I've paid for it!) though once during saw...3? A fat couple on the front row who seemed to be having sex during the trailers got up and laughed loudly about 10 minutes into the film. I think my dad made us walk out of a movie once when we were a lot younger. I'll ask him about it tomorrow.

Not read the whole letter yet - Me and my housemates made a fairly grumpy letter about a year ago. One of my housemates claimed that there was somesort of law where we could hold back our rent until the landlord had kept his promises -- assuming the landlord had promised to sort the shit out 30 days previously. We had it in writing and the shit was still shit. But I was just a passenger so I have no idea of the legality of it all.
