This big! ... It's been a legal grafitti wall for the last decade or so. Er, I appreciate there's no sense of scale with this pic. I'd say it's around 7-8ft tall, maybe 10-12 wide?

A compound of reasons has left me quite aware that I am not as social as I have been previously. Typically, I'll see a friend maybe once a week, and my girlfriend once or twice a week. I repeatedly reject invites for nights out as I can't afford it, and once a month I invite my mate over for some beers and games (he never replies the favour, but it doesn't really bother me). I have maybe four or five people who infrequently say hey on facebook chat, and when my phone rings it's invariably my mother or the job centre. Most of my social life is here, on this board. I've been a bit of a lurker the last month or so, because I think my affinity to this place in combination with my lack of a real social life has bothered me. lack of money means that the rare occasion I say 'yes' I feel slightly put-out as I don't know what everyone is up to anymore. However, if I really wanted a chat then I'm fairly sure that most of my friends would answer the phone if I called them. Even if I could afford it, I still wouldn't be going out each night. One of the factors is the season. When summer rolls around then social activity picks up - trips to the beach or park, bbqs, country walks, festivals and so on -- so I sit and wait for that to arrive. SO ANYWAY! What sort of social life do you have? Do you have set times/places for some mates? Are you the one that always arranges everything, or are you the one who always has to say no?

Modern social networks also warp our perception of how 'social' we are/have to be. New thread tiem (Im-a start it instead of thripping, as it's kinda inspired me rather to steer discussion one way. Feel free to do the same, or request a thrip if you wish).

I was going to be vocal too -- but [puts mod had on] we should respect the GM's wishes to discuss after the game, because technically talk is not allowed during the night, and who knows what sort of information about one's alignment such bitching may present. *does a dance*[takes hat off]

I used to think similarly to you. Then I recalled all the "hey." conversations I used to hate on msn/facebook. Turns out these are people trying to make the effort! I felt bad since then. In general it's tricky to just go "hey! how are you?" sincerely. Most people are all "Hey, how are you? DISREGARD THAT I WANT TO TALK ABOUT MYSELF!" Because of the ADD-addled internet generation that is Generation Why (us), we've shifted social paramaters. You don't just meet up with a mate at a place anymore - you don't just answer the phone when you want - you don't even respond to PMs or emails when you want - immediate social interaction is granted with texts and IMs and it's rare that both sides are necessarily 'primed' for a conversation. If you're feeling out of touch with people there's only two things you can do. Make the effort to get in touch with them, or sit and get a brain eneurism wishing that they'll get in touch with you.

As with pretty much all facebook updates, it took me a 30 minutes to notice, then five seconds to go "oh they've changed again*" then I carry on with my fucking business.

I don't see the big complaint... There's one in a park near my junior school that was ALWAYS in use for wall ball, at the least. We also played a surprise-variant of football-tennis with it. Kids have a lot of imagination. Stupid Sun.

Before (I'm in the red...) During After Initially I had said "yeah just take a bit off the back and sides," then the trainee hairdresser friend of a friend said some jargon so i said "ok, just short back/sides it but keep the fringe long." I began to worry when he went reaaaaally high up with the trimmer thing... but ultimately it looked good after. he put some product stuff in that made it look swish and cool and totally irreproduceable, so I'm stuck with *this* general schwash. it's refreshing n'stuff. But I do feel silly. And cold.

Currently playing Alone in the Dark for the G's. Sometimes I really see this for the gem it tried to be -- but then very quickly it reminds me just why it's shit. Currently just climbed up a cliff (only died 6 times) and pulled myself up a rope into a subway station, where four regular enemies and three bastard-enemies spawn. The enemies in this game generally require fire to finish them off, but you can render some unconscious if you have a large enough melee weapon meet their face enough times. However, combined with having no additional weapons or firepower beyond my pistol (magnum whatever) I also have no first aid sprays. I die after 3 hits. I may cry.

My goalkeeper got sent off. To be fair he did commit the crime of letting in 4 goals in no time at all. Playing top o' the league with my reserve keeper next game... uh oh :P On the plus side, we scored our only chance of the game! Good work, team!

Got another narrow home win! Sold one of my strikers for millz. Going to build the bank to mcoy-sized proportions... maybe :P I'll be needing a quality keeper in a few seasons so I'll save for that, I think.
