Are there many PC games that have split-screen multiplayer though? Because at the moment, it's PC only :/ I do agree with you however, if it comes to Xbox 360 - which I hope and pray it does at a later date - then split-screen would be an excellent addition, especially if they're trying to make it more akin to PSO and not PSU. By all means they can still have online only quests etc but split-screen offline multiplayer would at least extend the long-term appeal of the game by a great deal, I also hope that we can retain save data on our hard-drive instead of server-side but I know that won't happen, which is a shame because I still go back to PSO every now and then because I still have my original data for it.

I think this page is evidence enough that we need a Mercenaries online meet-up thread... :p And if an online thread is created then I think I may join you all in a few games at some point over the weekend being that it'll be good to get a different perspective for my review.

Exactly... I only know of a few retail games that have a mere 12 achievements or less and those include Phantasy Star Universe, E.D.F... and erm... yeah, I'm sure there are more but those spring to mind. I'm not too concerned as all it means is they become a simple incentive to play through the game and do reasonably well, being that I'm shamefully not that familiar with Code Veronica this doesn't seem to bad; Resi 4 however is a different matter because I've played through the game in numerous iterations, multiple times and like many I absolutely adore it so some varied achievments would obviously be greatly appreciated there though I doubt we'll get them because Capcom can't be bothered. :p Having said that though at least we're getting them on Xbox 360 so I'm just glad of the chance to play them again.

Those achievements are really basic, I expected them to at least expand the amount to 25... not 12 lol :/ Sounds pretty easy to me, I hope for more 'random' achievements for Resi 4, including a fair few for Mercenaries mode of course like the medals in Mercenaries 3D hopefully they'll include a few token ones for 5G too much like the one I obtained today for killing a chicken which was entitled... 'Chicken Hunter Portable' Genius. :p

I'm somewhat surprised too, it's still Mercenaries in portable form and a pretty decent version at that, sure the presentation might be a little lacklustre plus it has a few technical issues but it's very much playable plus it's still fun. I completed the main set of missions yesterday which unlocks Wesker plus extra missions and I must say that I'm suitably impressed by the level of challenege it offers the further you manage to get, even if it is a little on the insane side with the number of enemies it can throw at you.

The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Official Thread
S.C.G replied to Tellyn's topic in General Gaming Discussion
It's true... people don't seem to take handheld games as seriously as their home console counterparts, which in the case of The Legend of Zelda is a crying shame indeed. I'd go as far to say that Link's Awakening DX is in my top five favourite Zelda games of all time with the Oracle titles and Minish Cap following closely behind; having Capcom work on those three pieces of portable perfection was a stroke of genius as they remain to this date the best portable Zelda games since Link's Awakening originally graced our GameBoy screens. -
^ I noticed the above instantly but I try not to let it bother me too much considering the rest of the game has been remade so fantastically well... ... still it is kinda sad that they didn't see fit to fix these small things.

^ My quote still stands and always will... Stuff of Legends Personified! : peace:

'Ramon Salazar was the 8th castellan of a fortress near an unnamed village in rural Spain, who was controlled by a religious cult known as "Los Illuminados" (english: "The Illuminated ones"). Although his diminutive stature resembles that of a ten-year old and his gray hair and wrinkled face give him the appearance of an old man, he was only 20 years old, which suggests that his premature aging is possibly a result of his long-term Plaga infestation.'

That really got to me... I'm really sorry to hear about your gran Captain Falcon and I offer my sincerest condolonces, I lost my gran a year or two back and my grandfather the year before that so I know how hard it can be. Hang in there and be strong for your family, especially your parents... but don't forget to grieve in your own way as it's important to do so. *hugs*

What saddens me is that deep down I know these Resi games on the 3DS will have their shortcomings - weak gun sound effects being one of them - and you just know that a year down the line they will port and improve both titles, then re-release them as one PS Vita title, leaving us feeling slightly short-changed. At least we're getting them first but still, I can't help but think that Capcom doesn't really care about the 3DS that much or is possibly being paid by Sony as an incentive to be more interested in their handheld... I know nothing has been announced as of yet but just wait, it's inevitable.

Stick with the default controls H-o-T and just keep practicing, that's all I can say, I agree that it isn't natural to fire with the Y button but you do get used to it after a few hours. ---------------------- I've unlocked the fifth set of missions so far and recently unlocked most of the characters including Barry who is actually pretty awesome also got a medal for killing my first 1000 enemies lol. Time flies when you're having fun.

This... 10 lb fish as child 20 lb fish as adult When those conditions have been met you'll have no problem finding the sinking lure but it doesn't appear until then.

Where's our resident conspiracy nut when you 'need' him? Oh that's right, he's 'in another castle'. :p

For all of its flaws I can't help but appreciate the improvements plus the fact that it's a portable version of The Mercenaries and in 3D at that... I will say this... if you really want a portable version of this fantastic game then it's worth it, if you spent a long time playing the mini-game on both Resi 4 & 5 then you'll most certainly enjoy this but equally if you can wait for the price to drop then by all means do so. The demo for Revelations although painfully short does indicate that it will be a fantastic new entry in the series which feels like it's going back to the roots of the series and will probably be more worthy of your cash, but until then this is still one of the better 3DS titles I've played and even though it could be considered something of a stop-gap title, it's still very enjoyable for what it is.

^ Thank you Raining and thank you all for your comments, as each day passes I feel more ready for the test so I'm hoping that it will go well, all just depends on what happens on the day, but I'm quietly confident which I think will go some way to helping me pass. And assuming I do, it'll be third time lucky. :p Also... Dog-amoto, I may well take you up on that advice.
