I've just finished my first set of races and all I can say is fuuuuuuuuuuuu... this game is challenging, out of four races I think I scored 7th, 8th, 5th and then scraped a 2nd for the final race... It's so refreshing to see a new game that's not shy about ramping up the difficulty from the beggining, but... it's not as if the game feels unfair, the A.I is spot-on in fact, just that it takes a few races to adjust to. But once the game gets going it doesn't stop and I would say that it certainly lives up to its name... Fast really isn't the word though it goes some way to giving you an idea of what to expect, but what I was expecting was a mere F-Zero clone which in itself would have been good enough but this is so much more... ... It's F-Zero mixed with Ikaruga fused together and stripped down to make a racing experience quite unlike any other, and I like it... a lot.

So... is anyone else buying this at 12PM tonight? I sure as hell am if it's there by then my points card is primed and at the ready! This game screams F-Zero, especially when you see it in motion, I genuinely can't wait to play this. *Edit* It's available now! *downloading*

Being that I have an actual Ocarina of Time replica - i.e not plastic - that I bought over a decade ago, I'm not that interested in the Aussie pre-order bonus especially if it's gonna cost £10 - £15 more than the RRP... :p The tin also doesn't excite me and so that's why I've just put my pre-order in with Shop-To so I can at least get the important part - the game - for a reasonable price.

What old n64 games are rare and hard to find.
S.C.G replied to shadow mario's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Superman 64 is rare... ... on account of most people destroying their copies of the game because it's so terrible. :p -
^ I was using Lazy-TV and I found this 'gem' so I figured I'd post it...

Personally I think £30 for a portable 3D version of arguably one of the best games of all time is a small price to pay.

This is precisely the point I was trying to get across, it doesn't need it... I get that it could be seen as a 'missed opportunity' to some but really it doesn't concern me that greatly, I'm just happy that we're at least getting two of the best N64 games ever made but this time in portable form; quite honestly what's not to love? Now if they were to make an entirely new Starfox game for the 3DS and ommit the inclusion of online multiplayer in that, then it would be a real missed opportunity but in this case it would just have been an extra that would have been fun to play around with for a couple of hours at most because even with added online it would still be the same semi-interesting but never really engaging experience that it was before, so where is the sense in wasting time making it online? However I stress that I'm all for an online component within a Starfox game but if it's to be then it really should be done properly and not half-heartedly so for now, can't we just be happy that we're getting one of the best Starfox games ever made in portable, 3D form? : peace:

It's not as if we were expecting it... Deep down I knew that they wouldn't include online because quite frankly, what would be the point? The battle mode for the N64 version really wasn't that great and if they aren't going to dramatically improve that component then why waste time making it online... it just doesn't make any sense. People can complain all they want but the simple fact is that Starfox is mainly a single-player game and one of the best at that so you can't really blame Nintendo for focusing on the single-best element of the game. :p Yes I can still understand the disappointment because Starfox multiplayer certainly has potential and I'm sure that one day that potential will be properly realised though I doubt it will happen on the 3DS as it's more likely to be a feature in the next home-console iteration. Let us not forget that however nice this title will be - even without online multiplayer - that it's still a stop-gap until the next main entry in the series owing to it being a remake.

That has to be the single best analogy for Super Mario Sunshine that I've ever heard, it describes the nature of the game perfectly.

Got back from taking the Theory Test a couple of hours ago... ... I passssed eet! Now I can book the Practical for a few weeks time, feels good to have the done the theory again, hopefully that was the last time too as I'm planning to keep taking the practical until I pass it rather than leaving it like I did last time... >> Anyway when I take the Practical it'll be my third attempt and hopefully I'll be lucky and pass if the old saying is anything to go by.
