The small list of negatives aside, it's still going to be a fantastic game I'm sure but yes Nintendo do need to start listening at least a little more.

Well I tested the 'Pro' Controllers and unfortunately they just aren't anywhere near the same level of quality as the official pad despite looking almost identical so I'm arranging to have them sent back for a full refund, so instead I'm just going to pay more or less full price for two official pro controller and have done with it as it's just not worth the hassle.

I've been feeling a bit like this recently, really can't put it down to anything specific but I did end up googling various 'depression' and 'anxiety' conditions... let's just say that it was frighteningly enlightening for me at least in some areas. It's by no means conclusive though plus I'm going to do my best to just try and dig myself out of this 'rut' as I like to think of it, usually writing for a good bit while listening to music helps so I'm going to catch up with my reviews today but just this past week I really haven't felt like doing much at all so I can empathise with your situation Josh. Well they arrived, no Nintendo logo on them so it would seem that they are fake, plain box complete with charging lead, naturally the first thing I did was to run an anti-bacterial wipe over them just in case but they do look remarkably similar, I honestly thought they looked genuine from the auction images. Anyway here's a pic of one next to my genuine controller... I'm curious to see if they actually work with no noticeable difference so I'm contemplating charging one up tomorrow to test it out but now that I know they aren't genuine part of me thinks I should just send them back, what do you think N-E?

Well you've officially 'sold' the game to me now! : peace: I was already considering picking it up but now I know I have to get it at some point.

ShopTo have taken payment for my standard edition copy of Mario Kart 8 and then I suddenly remembered that I have both versions pre-ordered still so I managed to cancel my Limited Edition pre-order just in time. Normally I wouldn't have bothered but I thought to myself 'that Blue Shell is really not worth almost £20 to me' so I figured it would be better to cancel in time so someone else who really wants it can grab it. : peace: I'm going to be more than happy with the game and a free T-shirt.

I got a reply, all seems good initially so I've messaged her back. *cautiously optimistic*

But seriously, the situation is bad in some areas this is true enough but hopefully at least some of the issues can be sorted soon after E3, perhaps another large patch to sort out some of the smaller issues the console has at least plus hopefully a real drive in producing more hardware/bundles/controllers well before Smash Bros comes out. I find it frustrating that it's so difficult to buy extra official controllers as a reasonable price, though this is an issue with the other consoles too but still, I can remember the days when no controller would cost more than £25 - £30 maximum. As for the rest of the stuff, we'll just see what happens.

Yes the listing is very contradictory as the title of the auction says... 'New U Wireless Gamepad Joypad Hand Controller for Nintendo Wii Black UK' And it uses pictures of the official Pro controller, I just hoped that because it states that the products are coming from the UK that there might be a chance of them being genuine but they could just as easily be fake or third-party I suppose.

Would there be much difference at all in the build quality of a Japanese pro controller to that of an European one? Because it seems that they are available for quite a bit cheaper (less than £20) in places so I'm sorely tempted to get one (my brother will need one for his Wii U) to potentially save some time/hassle in the long run. ----------------------------------------------------- Decided to take the plunge as I found a seller on eBay apparently selling Pro controllers within the UK for £13.49... I went for three of them so I've either got a bargain or three second-rate, third-party controllers for £40. For anyone else interested/tempted... Wii U Pro Controller I'll let you know what arrives in the post either way but I thought it was worth a shot... you can buy them in white or black - separate auctions - and there are more than 10 available at the moment. : peace: I'm just fed up of not being able to buy any extra pro controllers at a reasonable price, it's a ridiculous situation really. Even if they do turn out to be genuine, just watch as Nintendo brings out some new type of controller at E3 or some special edition version that will make me wish I hadn't bought these.

I don't think that this game ever really needed to take full advantage of the Gamepad but I do feel that after launch Nintendo should patch in the option of having the map on screen, times for races in GP displayed 'somewhere' and possibly even a proper trophy presentation screen. Aside from that, I can't wait to play it at launch just as I can't wait to see what Gamepad utilising games they will surely have prepared for us at E3 along with more staple classics of course. Oh wow, I just watched the entire E3 2002 press conference again... so many memories of the good times and what I like to refer to as the 'Second Golden Age of Gaming' naturally assuming the SNES era to be the first but yes, sooo many fantastic games announced in one place. Animal Crossing Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem F-Zero GX Metroid Fusion Metroid Prime Resident Evil 0 Super Mario Sunshine Super Mario Advance 3: Yoshi's Island The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past + Four Swords The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker Just those ten titles alone almost without exception ended up going down in the history books of gaming and for very good reason as they were all amazing in their own way, some of them were even landmark titles. Everyone will have a favourite from that list, for me it would be Metroid Prime of course because it was just so amazing at the time, it still stands up tall even today against a lot of modern titles on any format by a galactic mile. I know Nintendo has changed quite a bit over the years since then but 'Dayyyyyyyummmm!' rewatching that has certainly got me hyped anyway!

I think it's all a load of rubbish personally. Last generation I ended up buying all three consoles, firstly the Xbox 360 because I had bought an original Xbox but that was only later on in the previous generation as I had a Gamecube from day 1 then bought an Xbox years later when it was £100 with Outrun 2, the first Xbox was a decent(ish) machine which played a select few titles which I enjoyed - mainly Sega titles - so it stood to reason that the 360 would be worth owning because it was essentially a refined Xbox but with a lot more power and a decent online presence from day one which the first Xbox lacked for me hence I never bothered with the online at the time. Then the Wii came out just as the 360 was starting to become 'samey' and while there were plenty of decent titles to be had, inbetween the release schedule gaps that Nintendo so 'kindly' provided I would find myself looking elsewhere to play even more games, I'd always kept my eye on the PS3 but it wasn't until Uncharted came out that I actually willingly went and bought one. Since then my main 'multiformat' console was the 360 for all of those games plus the limited exclusives, whereas my Wii and PS3 were for platform exclusive games only... this has served me well for some time but now I'm in the situation of owning both a Wii U plus a PS4 but I also have a stack of 360 games to play so it stands to reason that there is very little point in buying an XBone for me. Xbox live gold I no longer require being that I have PS+ which more than fulfils my gaming needs as it covers me across three different Playstation consoles - PS3/PSV/PS4 - supplying me with more games than I will realistically play in addition to giving me access to all online aspects with no restrictions. Gaming on a brand new Microsoft machine which would do very much the same as my PS4 - except with an interface that I dislike along with very few exclusives that I'd want - just doesn't appeal to me that much, in my eyes they have only had one absolutely stellar machine which was the 360 but even that was plagued with hardware issues for many years, when it worked though... fantastic machine. I'm just more than happy with my PS4 and Wii U this generation... it's that simple. : peace:

I was completely unaware of this! All I knew was that it had been Xbox One exclusive for months but I didn't know that it had finally been released on the 360 as well now. Might be time to switch my 360 on for the first time in ages! : peace: Thanks btw.

But I'd only be buying it for Peggle 2! I think I'd rather save myself some money.

I'm just glad that Lakitu is back, he's basically become my new 'main' character since MK7.

Personally I don't mind the roster, yes the amount of 'Baby' characters does seem very unimaginative just as 'Pink-Gold Peach' seems lazy but at least we have the Koopa Kids to balance things out a bit. : peace: Ultimately though we still have all the main 'staple' characters so I can't say I'm that fussed but yes if I was to choose the roster it would look very different to how it looks currently.

Until June 6th I can get the Xbox One Titanfall bundle for £299 (staff exclusive discount code plus card discount) but I'm still not sure if I want one even at that price. I just think I'm happy enough with owning PS4/Wii U and hopefully not having to buy another home console for at least three or four years. : peace: Then again... £299... *slaps self* No! must resist... urge to spend... needlessly.

As in you can only play the game on the game-pad and not on the TV screen? Or are we talking Wonderful 101 style where it has sections of the game which move to the game-pad? If you can only play on the game-pad then I find that a very odd decision indeed.

I was particularly saddened to hear about this earlier today, especially as it seems that his death could have been preventable; RIP H.R. Giger.
