The noise though was exactly like that of the Mario Kart starting lights. Or how I remember them anyway :p

Critically acclaimed games you couldn't get on with
Retro_Link replied to Josh64's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Yes! Mario Sunshine. Twilight Princess is my least favourite Zelda. Didn't enjoy it, didn't like the vibe. Starfox 64/3DS is a good shout. Never could really understand the love for the game. I just don't get on with it. In terms of one others haven't mentioned... Uncharted 2. Described as one of the best action adventure games of all time? I just found the gameplay dull and repetitive. And the action sequences too frequent and ridiculous. Nor did I really like the characters it introduced or the story. But I'm in about the 0.01% that thinks this. I loved Uncharted, and Uncharted 3. Super Mario World. There's just something about the game that irks me. It may be I part the visual style, maybe the music/soundfx, I just don't know. -
Not sure what I last posted in here, but here's a few of my favs I've taken over the last few months:

Anyone else reminded of Mario Kart every time points are awarded?

Amiibo display stand on Amazon US: Could look cool with the Mario series amiibo. Also, they have to re-release Link with a clear stand! what were they thinking!?

Well it's been suggested to you several times to put him on your ignore list, but you obviously would rather see Wii's posts so that you can continue this little things you've got going. Everyone else on the forum seems capable of glossing over any of Wii's comments that come off a bit extreme. As far as I'm concerned it's just his character on the boards.

If he wants help, he'll find a way... or an ebay.

Oh I know :p Just make sure he pays you. One amiibo per intervention seems fair

I don't have any real nostalgia for Back to the Future, but that was great!

Everyone should experience Thomas Was Alone for £3.99

Last one was epic

'Oval' :p Tracks selection look great. Love the short and long versions. I think MRC Rally back on the N64 did this, and I really enjoyed it. Damn, look at that straight on Island Long! I do hope there are a few more tracks to unlock and be revealed.

True, the game looks pretty incredible at times, the ship is fantastic as is the atmosphere on it, particularly during the first half. It also adds a brilliant new mechanic

I don't think the media comparisons to the single player having a Mario Galaxy esque feel to it have helped at all. It makes you think you'll be getting a 10-15hr adventure, which of course [and even more so with the absence of a Mario game like that] everyone has been wanting on Wii U. You did, unfortunately many just glossed over it. As always seems to be the case, people would far better just talk in extremes. I still read the forum almost as much but my interest and activity has greatly decreased. I do still enjoy being active under the right conditions, with those you can have a decent conversation with.

Haha! Okay Okay. I did enjoy the first half of revelations and there were some great plot twists in there, but the second half was far worse, only managing to redeem itself a tiny bit before the end. It got all RE5 action, which if you're a fan of that way the series has gone would make it a fantastic game, but I'd rather it had continued the way it started with a lot more mystery than running and gunning. I'm just saying in terms of all the Resi games it would come in the bottom half. And you could probably find better experiences with your money.

Oh I'm sure, I can only go off what we currently can expect to see in both press conferences. S-E could have a surprise or two aswell.

The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild Wii U / Switch
Retro_Link replied to darkjak's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I hate this situation Zelda had gotten into being one of the last games on Nintendo's consoles and thus not living up to potential. After Mario, Zelda used to signal in what Nintendo's consoles were capable of. If Mario was a system showcase, Zelda was the marker, the game that set the standard for games on the console for others to live up to. Now we have these Zelda's that could go either way, either closing out a console and being made to look a little shody as next gen games come out around it, interest in Nintendo's console is waining (even by Nintendo themselves), or its bumped up to the new console and doesn't take advantage of that consoles true potential. Stupid Zelda cycle. -

What do you mean by that, because it is an upcoming game. Xenoblade is out, Splatoon will be out... Woolly World, Mario Maker and StarFox will make for one boring Direct. That's like saying they won't announce show what Retro have been working on because it will take the focus away from their upcoming games. -

Anyone think there might be a Zelda trailer during the Nintendo Direct? Nintendo have said it won't be at E3, which as far as they're concerned might just mean playable/on the show floor, as I think that's what at this stage people would have been expecting to get, so they came out and said it wouldn't be there. Also, the Direct can be watched anytime, it's just time slotted during E3. It does seem strange that they'd put out a trailer last E3, show live gameplay... the next logical step is a playable demo, so then not to at least be able to give us another trailer?... I dunno, I think there might be something in the Direct? -
This bit at 16:40 is still one of my fav things :p

I feel like this about Starfox too. Actually, most of their franchises atm :p
