  1. It'll be different to everything you've ever played. It's not really like other RPGS, it's different. One thing I'll say is that you may dislike or even hate the game at first. But, stick with it and in time you may come to love it. There's definitely a learning curve to it and it can seem under/overwhelming at first, but it's worth it. Tri was my first ever Monster Hunter and it was one of my favourite games from last generation. The online and playing it with people from here makes it worth it.
  2. Couldn't agree more. The Killzone Demo sums up how I felt about a lot of last gen games. Looks pretty, but ultimately very fake and with little soul. I loathed Timesplitters 2 when that arrived for the Cube, not because of the modes, or the graphics, or the controls, because the game itself didn't have a soul, or charm. It was empty.
  3. It's always hard to judge handhelds through videos and screens. I'm sure it'll look great in your hands. :p Either way, can't wait. Please, Capcom, don't fuck this up.
  4. Whenever I've used a treadmill, I have to have the incline up or else it doesn't feel right. It's not really about whether the actual sport is better or not compared to the bike that's important, it's about the mental endurance, imo. Cycling outdoors and cycling on a stationary bike are too different things. I've always been much more aware of my movements when indoor, because there's very little else to focus on. True, you can get an iPod or watch the telly at the gym, but it's still hard to get into that zone. When you're outside, you just tend to do it. That's what I love about sport, you're exercising but it's almost secondary to doing the actual sport itself. I play football for my love of football, not for exercise.
  5. Funny enough, that desire to win hasn't changed over the years. United still get late goals these days, because they keep going until the final whistle. That's the main thing I've loved about watching them, there's a never say die attitude. One of my favourite ever goals is that 87th minute winner that Cantona scored in the FA Cup Final against Liverpool. It's a shame that Arsenal seem to have lost that. My favourite matches when growing up were against Arsenal and Liverpool, because the desire and attitude for both teams to win was always there. Even if we lost the game, it was still fantastic to watch two teams really tearing each other apart. That Martin Keown moment against our Ruud, I hated him for it, but also it showed passion and determination. This Arsenal team don't have the same fire as the old one, they're almost like robots on a field, but instead of being mechanical and flawless, they are broken machines. Maybe that's why everyone has enjoyed watching Jack Wilshere, because he's probably one of the only ones that goes out there and plays with his heart.
  6. Game looks hot. Seems like I'll be borrowing Ine's 3DS for this one. When I say borrow, she ain't getting it back.
  7. They may have got a few breaks, but they've also had more than their share of things going against them in recent years, too. What about that farce of a match against Barcelona a few years back, which prompted Didier Drogba's "It's a disgrace" line? Or the Luis Garcia incident. In the record books, it will say that Chelsea won the Champions League, and they did it by over-turning a difficult situation against Napoli, beating Barcelona over 2 legs (a victory at Stamford Bridge and a good draw in the Nou Camp with 10 men) and they won the final in Bayern Munich's back yard. And they did this with an interim manager, not a manager like Arsene Wenger who has had time and resources to build his team to his specifications. Ultimately, would any fan give up the Champions League Trophy in favour of playing a bit more attacking football? No, they wouldn't. Yes, playing good football is important, but winning games is also important and the whole point in football. They didn't get it all their way because they didn't finish well in the league. The league is a far better representation of a team. The Champions League is a fantastic competition, but it's also a cup/knockout competition. You play well for 2 games, you go through to the next round.
  8. Ine has been listening to Of Monsters and Men and I've been over-hearing one track which I LOVE. Iceland, you've done it again. Also, this has been in my head all week.
  9. It leaves the officers susceptible to even more scrutiny from the lawyers of the defendant. Once they know that the person in question isn't of "sound character", it basically opens a can of worms. Plus, they can then use this as a doorway to talk about the credibility of the evidence found by the officer, how the officer has conducted the case, etc. It basically takes a fair bit of pressure from Pistorius and onto somebody else. It makes the jury think twice, when is not what you want. I agree with you, it shouldn't make a difference. But, it does. Credibility is very important.
  10. From the article: "Mr Malila said the charges against Det Botha had originally been dropped but were reinstated." It could be new evidence against the officer, or something else. Wonder how exactly this will affect the case. Certainly the credibility of the officer in question. Could be Pistorius paying a lot of money to do this, could be genuine.
  11. I'd love for it to be included, but I imagine it's one of those sports that is a billion times more fun to play than it is to watch. I might be wrong, though.
  12. If this were 10 years earlier Animal, I could have helped here. I haven't done any Urdu for years. It's not a great sounding language to me and I've never truly enjoyed learning it. English is my first language, and whilst I was growing up I read Arabic and spoke little bits of Punjabi and Urdu. Did Welsh, French and Spanish in school. Hated Welsh, it doesn't sound natural and it sounds very harsh at times. French was ok but Spanish is the one I enjoyed the most. I'm re-learning it. I'm also learning Flemish when I have a bit of time. I can speak it to an ok level with Ine but I freeze up whenever it's anybody else. Confidence goes out of the window. One day, I will learn Russian.
  13. Not sure if this has been posted already, so apologies if it's a repost. The detective leading the Oscar Pistorius enquiry is himself facing 7 charges of attempted murder. Why am I getting the feeling that this case is going to go tits up?
  14. Hell to the yeah. Treadmills are more of a mind endurance test than anything: How long can I keep "running" in a straight line before I get bored.
  15. I don't care. Hash tags are lame. See the first tag at the bottom of the thread. Yes, I really hate hash tags.
  16. Bro, I love you like I would any other _Link...but these hash-tags are pissing me off. If you really want to tag shit, there's the tag functions at the bottom of each thread.
  17. Actually, don't worry about it. Last thing we want is you getting put in front of a firing squad. I'm sure there will be some way to find it over here, I forgot how China are towards...certain things. In fact, I'm surprised you're allowed on the net right now. :p

  18. If you could, that would be amazing. I would be forever in your debt.

  19. Dude, this Rosetta Stone stuff? Can you get eet for cheap in Chinacountry? I'm learning Dutch atm.

  20. Yes, but do you need the WiiU version of the game?
  21. Wait, whaaaat? Monster Hunter 3 3DS can be played online? Is the WiiU version needed? Can you play against WiiU owners this way? This changes everything.
  22. Chelsea did what was necessary to win. Yes, they defended well, but if they had gone to the Nou Camp and the Allianz Arena and played open and expressive attacking football, they would have been torn to bits. Maybe Arsenal should have set themselves up a bit better defensively when Bayern visited the other night... The knockout stages of the Champions League are exactly that. You take it game by game, doing whatever you have to in order to win it. Let's not forget that Chelsea were also doing this with an interim manager, since they sacked AVB earlier in the season. He wouldn't have had much time to get the team playing good football or the way that he wanted.
  23. Yes, and kill Ubisoft's incentives to release their games on Nintendo systems. Very, very happy about this. When this was shown at E3, I remember thinking "gah, wish this was on a Nintendo system." Now it is. I wonder what the differences will be between the various consoles. How much different will the PS4 version be to the PS3? Will the WiiU version be completely different entirely?
  24. I was expecting Zechs to get torn to bits over this, but this is exactly what I was thinking, too. I was left at Square's showing. I had to laugh at their "please be excited for Final Fantasy at E3"...please. You could also see my blood boiling when Capcom took to the stage and mentioned briefly "their success" with the latest Resident Evils. I had to be held back at that point. It was pretty long, too. Started off a bit ropey but it got a bit more interesting once the games were being shown, but I wonder if it could have been half an hour shorter? I'm not impressed with the controller at all as I've never liked the Dual Shock/original controller design, and by now you would have expected Sony to have revamped it massively. Can't get used to that controller and I just don't like it. One thing I found was the lack of charm in any of that conference. I've always found Sony very cold, but I know some people like the way they do things, but they don't really speak to me. "Here is our controller, it does this, here are our specs, here is Killzone, look at how much is happening on screen." I can't quite put my finger on what it is, but they don't seem to have as much personality or charm as Nintendo, even in their conferences. If you're a Sony fan, it was a good show. It hasn't really done anything to say to me that I should choose a PS4 next gen, so I won't be getting one. Pleased that WatchDogs is coming to WiiU mind, that's the best thing about yesterday for me.
  25. Witness looked nice. Colourful, good music, interesting idea. Best thing of the show.
