  1. Yeah...it can be dangerous if you rush into that without resting properly. Speaking of squats: I went on a tour of the new fitness club where I'll be playing squash. I noticed somebody was at the squat stand and they weren't using it for a curling rack, ahaaa. Somebody was using it to perform quarter squats, if that. At least they'll be able to walk tomorrow. :p Did some flat benching today for chest daaay. My bench press isn't good at all, I've always struggled in this area. Managed to perform a few sets at 73kg, though, so hopefully will be able to do moar next time. The goal is to get to 80 by the beginning of April.
  2. That looks nice. I'll probably just go with the dvd/cheaper option. Cheap, cheap, cheap. I've also got 24 to watch. 2010, here I come.
  3. Lol, Blu-ray. You think I'm made of money?! I'll be watching that shit on betamax, yo.
  4. I've never seen eet. Please do not strike me down. Next thing on my list!
  5. Thanks. I've seen eet. I actually really enjoyed that ending! It's open, but not on a too-terrible-to-live cliff-hanger that I was expecting. It makes sense in a lot of ways, yet leaves a lot open to interpretation and discussion. Fuck, I can't believe there's no more. I want to cry. Also, Summer Glau...my new favourite famous person.
  6. I actually don't mind this too much. At the very least, it means that we know this game is in good hands, whilst it also frees up Retro to do more important stuff. I hope Monster make a racer of some kind for the 3DS. ExciteTruck2, pleeease.
  7. Never mention that "game" ever again. It's still a sore subject for me. I've always seen it as "this is an exclusive for WiiU game, enjoy" rather than it actually being up there with Nintendo's quality. It might still be considered good, possibly even more than that. But, it's never really looked exceptional at any stage, for me. It is what it is. Looks fun, so that might be enough for many.
  8. I have one episode of The Sarah Connor Chronicles left. Not happy. Should be moaaar episodes.
  9. Anyone else watch Everton and Wigan earlier? Everton looked really poor, the worst I've probably ever seen them play. Wigan were sublime, so much better in every way. Their midfield destroyed Everton's, they kept the ball and blitzed them. I was laughing as the third goal went in. Just ridiculous. Could have been 5 or 6-nil by the end of the game.
  10. Sorry for your loss, Flameboy. (on a side note, I smiled reading that first paragraph. That's a lovely way to make a friend)
  11. This has always been a 6/7 out of 10 game in my mind. Too many Lego games already, saturation at its finest. It looks decent, but it was never going to be a 9/10 game. I'm still a bit surprised at the way this was announced right at the beginning of the WiiU's reveal.
  12. We play again in 3 games time, brah. Didn't realise it was midway point already. Winston Gardens away and at home. Better call the police, because somebody is about to get molested. Me. Huhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuhuh.
  13. On the subject of breaks, it really depends on what you're going for and how much your body can handle. (basically what JonSt said) My times vary depending on the exercises. For squats, deadlifts, shoulder presses and bench presses, I need a decent bit of rest time between each set, particularly for the deadlifts. It takes a lot out of me. Plus, you want to mentally prepare yourself for the next set. You need to maintain that control, because you always need to be in control of the weight. If you shorten the rest times too much, you run the risk of not actually being ready for the next set. The opposite end of the scale features the gym guyzzz who go there in small groups and use a machine or bench in rotation and have about a 15 minute rest break between sets. :p Don't do that. A minute or two to catch your breath and prepare yourself (if you're going heavy) is more than enough time. You don't need more than that. If you're going lighter and supersetting, then the rest times will be a great deal shorter. Massive advantage of working out at home: You lift when you are ready. No pressure to get the sets over with so next guy can use the bench/machine/weights.
  14. The first film was much better than I thought it would be. Excited for this. That trailer = hype, hype, hypeeee.
  15. This Aronofsky talk is pleasing. I looove The Fountain. Saw Requiem for a Dream years ago (only parts of it) and didn't think much of it at the time. Need to go back and rewatch it. Tempted to get the soundtrack for The Fountain, it's too beautiful.
  16. A win in the Derby. Always feels good.
  17. Team looks much better without Ade. He's terrible and will most likely get shipped off within the next 18 months. Spurs rang rings around Inter, just destroyed them for pace. 3-0 flatters them. Should have been 7 or 8. Rooney will most probably not go anywhere. The media have jumped on the fact that he didn't play against Madrid. If he had played, it would have meant we would have dropped Nani, which would have deprived us of pace on the wings, which was a big outlet for us in that first half. (Nani had a good game until his sending off). Rooney was never going to play ahead of Van Persie and we were never going to play with 2 up top, so he either had to be played out of his position (to the detriment of the team) or benched. I've got no problem with anyone being benched, the manager chooses the team and he picked a good one. It was working until the sending off. If he goes, then it's not the end of the world. Ronaldo left and we are still up there competing. Plenty of great players leave great teams all the time. The sign of a great team is the ability to still compete and bring in new talent and keep it together. Which we will do. No doubt about that.
  18. Spurs losing would make the top 4 trophy race more exciting. Still, I have a feeling that they'll turn it on against Liverpool. Can't see Liverpool winning it for some reason.
  19. If Spurs play like they did tonight, they'll win. But only if Liverpool play as bad as Inter did. :p I reckon 3-1 Spurs. Should be a good game. I'm hoping Chelsea play as dire as they did tonight, too. 3-0 United.
  20. Happy Birthday, TeeDeeeee.
  21. Leg daaay. Started off terribly with my squatting, which wasn't great. I'm thinking doing it later in the week when I'm a bit pooped out with work was a bad idea. I'm going deeper but struggled with anything over 80kg today. Legs wouldn't have it. Might try again on Sunday. Session got better with the calf and hamstring work. Feel knackered, though.
  22. 3-0 was a bit of a harsh scoreline in the first leg. Defensively, Celtic made crucial mistakes but Juve weren't playing amazingly well from what I remember. Criticising Forster is a little unfair for the goal yesterday, but he maybe could have steered the ball away from the goal. Nevertheless, it was a collective defensive mistake that could have been prevented. I'm watching the Spurs game now and what a contrast. Spurs are playing good football, no doubt. But, this Inter team, fuck...worst Inter team in years? They'll be lucky if they even score a goal over the two legs. Spurs are in with a good shout in this competition. Also, Chelsea: Can't believe this is the same Chelsea that lifted the Champions League. (3-0 Spurs now, might be double that when it's over)
  23. Do eet part-time. Then, if you start getting the free-lance work, ask for a reduction in hours if possible and move towards doing freelance full-time if it's sustainable. Basically what everyone else has already said.
  24. Fuck this game. I'm going to finally just get it on the 3DS. Probably can pick it up for cheaps.
