You could argue and say many things about it. I agree, it's a flawed system. I wouldn't mind it being scrapped, but I equally understand why it's there. It is supposedly easier to score goals at your home ground, what with the majority of the crowd being on your side and all, so I'm not sure it would lead to many teams playing defensive at home. (unless they already had a massive advantage after the first leg, like Bayern)

Your Favourite Game OF ALL TIME (up to this point)
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fused King's topic in General Gaming Discussion
First of all, that paragraph was pretty long, fucker. Splitscreen was awesome for Perfect Dark. Yes, you could see where people are, but that worked unbelievably well when you had teams/you and your mates against the simulants. Also, even if you could see where people were, they could see where you were, so there was still some sort of tactical element to it. It made it harder to get kills, knowing that your mates knew where you were. I've got some incredible memories of that and Goldeneye where I basically set remote mines/proximity mines around a room where my brother was, and he was watching me do it. His expression at the time was "shit, no way out." Pretty hilarious. Miss those days. -
I was looking at those thinking o_O that seems high for a novice, before realising it was 1 rep max. Wondering if I should start incorporating that into my training or not. Played squash tonight. Some of the shots that were made were ridiculous. Awesome fun. Am sleep.

Unlucky, Arsenal. I watched most of the first half but had to leave. Getting that early goal was vital. Would have been spectacular if Arsenal had managed to get that final goal. That third goal in the first leg made things too difficult. Whilst the away goal rule does need looking at (the point you made about the away team in the second leg having more time, for example), it is a necessary evil, unfortunately. You would have teams going to difficult places and shutting up shop, hoping to get a 0-0 loss, then trying to take it back to their place and trying to win it there. The away goal gives the away team a greater incentive to go out and attack away from home. I know that it is flawed, though and going out on away goals is a bit of a shit way to be out of a competition.

Yeah, it takes a lot of discipline, time and practice to get it right. You're still early days into all of this so getting the form down now is the important thing. If you can shift a lot of heavy weight too, then it's a bonus.

The best way to judge a film isn't when it's out in the cinema and is caught up in the media hype. Watching it a few months afterwards or further down the line usually gives you an indication of how good it is. This is completely average. Strong start, good middle, loses it towards the end. It loses all momentum once Raoul is revealed. It never re-captured any of that energy beforehand. Even the scenes where he escapes capture is a bit blah.

I'm not a fan of this for many reasons. A few work-friends of mine tried doing this and asked me to join in, which I didn't. I then proceeded to watch them try it and get "freaked out" as they tried to make tenuous links about the history of the building they were doing this in and the "words" that were appearing. "B...could be somebody's name beginning with B!" Really? Also, if I were dead and my spirit were lingering about a place, the last thing I would want is people trying to contact me and ask me a load of bullshit questions. If the dead want to contact you, they'll do it in their own way. If it is possible to contact the dead, then this is the wrong way to do it. Some things just shouldn't be messed with or joked about.

That's good going. I do more of a 5x5 thing (5 sets of 5 reps, increasing the weight each time). I've seen good gains with it, particularly with the bench pressing and deadlifting, ever since I've started doing it at home. I don't necessarily stick to it on the heaviest set, if I'm struggling at 3 then I'll maybe limit it to 4. Majority of the time, I manage to get 5 out.
-
It's both. Barca have come out and know that they will probably need to score 4 goals, and AC have left too many gaps open defensively. They should be 4 or 5-nil down by the way they've been defending against this Barca team. They've not been tight enough. Really surprises me.

Any workouts to work with fitness? You could try doing some interval training. Buy a jump rope and use that for a few times a week. That'll help your stamina. Interval training should help with the stamina and endurance a fair bit. I weight train about 4 times a week, run an after-school football club once a week (with some light training throughout the week) and will now be doing squash a few times a week now. That'll help my stamina! Aha... Good stuff, Raineeng. You repping that or is that one rep max? I've never attempted a one rep max...I'm running out of weight at my house.

When did the two Milan teams suddenly become so shit at defending? They are awful. Barcelona have been magnificent tonight but AC Milan have been equally terrible. So many mistakes, leaving gaps right in front of the back four, trying to play the ball out and then getting closed down. It's painful to watch.

Xpert 11 Season 26: Space to move, Space to breath, Space to win
Fierce_LiNk replied to Haden's topic in General Chit Chat
Excellent game against Winston Gardens. Finished 3-2 but we were close in terms of chances. I had a penalty when we were 1-0 down and missed it...if only it had gone in. I'm confident I can get something from the home game. -
Yeah, a lot of it is mental/psychological. I've made errors before with counting weight, thinking I was lifting something when it was actually a fair bit higher than I thought. No problems with lifting it the first time around. Then, the second time (when you realise that you made a mistake and are lifting heavier) it goes a bit to shit. :p "Oh noes, heavy weights."

The breathing is a tricky one to get right, but I'd advise going slow and controlled with your sets if you're feeling light-headed after it. I used to power through my sets, mainly for time purposes (so much to do). These days, I go slower and try to get as much control as I can over the weight, thinking more consciously about what I'm doing, how I'm breathing, etc. It takes a lot of time and practice, but the jist of it is to aim to be in control of everything. You should stay relatively injury free doing this, too, since you'll be more conscious of form. Bench pressing was probably one of my least favourite exercises for a long time, but it's starting to win me around. There's a lot that can be done with it, doing it incline, close grip, etc. You really need that explosive energy to push the bar up, something I think I lacked before. It's hard going, though. Working on the triceps will help, that'll also help with the shoulder press.

Theron. We have this: Feelsbadman.

The key is to substitute all of the stuff that's bad for you with chicken. :p The diet is a hard one to get right. I love my chicken, fish and eggs so went through a good phase in the summer where I lost a fair bit of weight. Nothing dramatic, but about 8kg. That's good, as well. I don't really do 12 or 8 rep sets for anything anymore, except maybe for curls or front shoulder raises. Everything else is 5 reps. Except for calves where I go for higher volume. That second paragraph is what I'm looking at doing, too. It's the "middle" sets that tire you out, too. The working sets where it's not light, but it's not really pushing you beyond your limit either. I could have ditched one of my other sets and probably got more reps in for 118. Hmm. Happy, though. Bench press has been good for me this week, as has deadlift. Let's hope the squat doesn't let me down.
-
You doing anything to burn eet off? Also, cake. Mmm. Squash was fun yesterday. Back day todaaay. Deadlifted 118kg for 4 reps, couldn't quite make 5. Happy with that, it's the most I've lifted for a long while. Closer to breaking my own best of 120 for 5. I'm pooped.

What a shame that Brian McDermott been sacked from Reading. No loyalty whatsoever in football these days, for a man that helped get them to where they are today. If Reading were really serious about staying up, they should have invested more during the January window when they needed it. Also, Lana would get it.
-
Fuck, we have been dire this second half. We should rightfully lose this 4-2 now. Valencia has done nothing since he has come in. I love the man, but he has been dreadful this season. I can't think of a single game where he has looked good this season. We made a mistake bringing him on, should have bought Welbeck on then for Nani when he went off injured. Also, downside of having this match on ITV is that we have to listen to Andy Townsend. Horrible pundit.
-
We've played shite since about the 30th minute.
-
Wouldn't be surprised if we concede before half-time. Giving the ball away too much now.
-
Not sure if you noticed, but Carrick was the one who played the ball forward from the edge of his box to start the breakaway (Nani tried but it was blocked). Chelsea defence has been pretty terrible so far. As long as we don't go all suicidal, we should win this.
-
Brilliant pass by Carrick, that was. My United player of the season.

Thanks, man. I enjoyed it a lot and found the ending both sad (for the series) but upbeat (its content). I want my season 3.
