  1. I'm not really feeling the whole "touch screen in a game pad" idea yet. I love the Wiimote and Nunchuk combo, or even the games that just use the 'mote like Metroid: Other M. It works a treat. I'm not particularly thrilled about having to now go back to use dual analogue for shooters and racers. Also, just for comfort, it's odd going back to a traditional game pad...it almost feels too narrow. I'm used to have my arms quite wide apart and having the hands doing different things. Pro Evo was perfect with the Wiimote. So, should Nintendo have stuck with it: For me, yes. 100%.
  2. On reflection, nowt there is anyone can do about this now. At least we'll have another crack at this next year, which is more than can be said for a lot of other teams. Anyone watch Celtic tonight? Juventus didn't really break into a sweat. Defensively, Celtic were better than the first leg and created more chances. Saying that, you always had the feeling that Juve could crush Celtic if they wanted to. (more than 5-0 on aggregate, I mean)
  3. Because it's not a disallowed goal. The ref blew the whistle for the foul a few seconds before the ball went into the net. So, anything that happened after the whistle blowing is moot, he had already blown. Personally I would have allowed play to go on as I don't think it was a foul. Rafael's hand-ball isn't a hand-ball for me. He's jumping for the ball, the ball hits the hand after hitting an opposition player's head whilst he's barely inches away. No time to react. Some refs would give it, some wouldn't, so again there's inconsistency.
  4. Exactly. At least then we'll know what's a red card and what isn't. The lines are too blurred and refs make it up as they go along, which means no consistency.
  5. I wouldn't call that a red either.
  6. It's exactly the same in an overhead kick, though. Perhaps even more so, since you need to generate considerable force to be able to smack the ball, that's my point. You can't say it's fine for an overhead and then wrong for that. That's what pisses fans and players off the most, there's no consistency.
  7. The fact that this is debatable shows that there isn't consistency. We should know whether or not this type of challenge is a red or not, which we don't because, as you say, some refs give it and some don't. All I want is consistency. If we lose, then I want to lose properly. I'd rather have got beat 2-0 and talked about the performance instead of this bullshit. You can't seriously believe that, dude. You should know that when you play the game, you go into the zone. You can't seriously be thinking about where the other guy is every single time, especially when you're taking down a ball or about to go for an overhead. Also, surely if you're doing an overhead in the box, there are going to be defenders nearby (unless you're playing Arsenal, aha) and any one of them can suddenly go running in for the ball. We're talking milliseconds of thinking time here...I can't agree with you on this one.
  8. So, if feet being high is classed as dangerous, then does this mean any time a player scores an overhead kick they should receive a red card instead?
  9. Just going to pay more attention to this part: You saw it as "kicking someone" in the ribcage whilst actually that part was secondary. He was taking the ball down and the guy was running in with momentum and ended up getting it in the chest. He caught him, but I can't look at it and say he was "kicking him." Football is a physical game. Foot is high, so yellow would have sufficed. I can't look at that and seriously think it's a thuggish or vicious challenge. It's not. It's a man going for a ball in an important game, a genuine tackle. Cone on now, he's inches away. I'd love to see you move your arm away when going in for a ball like that.
  10. What have you been doing exactly? The foam rollers are a good shout. (I don't use them, I just ride it out). Keep eating and sleeping well. Protein is your friend. That's quite a lot. You're more likely to keep this stuff up if it's more manageable. Don't kill yourself. I had a friend who went for 7 days a week for a few weeks. After that second week, I told her "you'll quit soon because you'll get tired with it." Which she did after about 3 weeks. Every other day is possibly enough. 4 is a good number. My times are all over the place due to sickness, but I aim to exercise about 4 times a week. Rest is important, though.
  11. Let's not start this bollocks. :p I hate bullshit like that. Football ISN'T "swings and roundabouts" (I hate that saying) and things don't even themselves out. Proud of how we played. Welbeck gave us a good outlet, defensively we looked tight, Cleverley did his job very well. Only player who could have done more for me is RVP. Also, one thing I hate about nights like this are the Newcastle, the Leeds and the Liverpool fans on facebook who start mouthing off. I've got a Chelsea fan-friend on facebook who's saying he's "glad" Chelsea finished badly so that they're still in Europe...Uhh.
  12. I've calmed down a bit now, but for me the match was ruined after the red card decision. I would have accepted the loss had we lost the match fairly, but to lose in this way is wrong. Never a red card. It's not excessive force, there's no intent. He's trying to "take down" the ball, eyes firmly on the ball and the player has come running through. Yellow would have been fair. As for the rest of the match, we played well and set ourselves up in the right way. Can't really be bothered to talk anymore about it, very deflated after that.
  13. I'll post about Spurs/Arsenal/fourth place stuff later. More important matters at hand. CMAAAAAN UNITEDDDDDD. Been nervous all weekend. And the whole of yesterday and today. CMAAAAAN.
  14. Only played Extraction, but loved it. The first two looked excellent and exactly what we needed. Gutted there won't be any more as I was secretly hoping for one on the WiiU. Fuck EA.
  15. My work internet was shiiite. Couldn't get on it until after 1 o'clock. Didn't bother setting it yesterday as I was too tired after work and had an early night. Thought I'd get it done in the morning. So, I resigned myself to losing. Checked the score when the internet came back up. Won 3-1. All default. Set fuck all. That's how it's done, @Charlie! Next game, THE DERBY. @Ellmeister, WE COMIN' FOR YOU NIGGA.
  16. The negotiations should have started and been wrapped up much earlier. Letting him get so close to the end of his contract was a stupid move. How about selling him abroad, so he didn't go to a direct rival in the league? So many things could have been done differently.
  17. Pretty much. Spurs have also changed manager, sold Modric and are still adapting the squad to how AVB wants them to play. Both teams are in transition. In fact, all of this talk about Arsenal being in transition and that being the reason for them not winning things is a bit horseshit. Chelsea have been under transition for the last few years, too. As have the likes of City.
  18. I think it's Wenger's philosophy that needs to change first. If he wants to stay at the club, he needs to change his ways. He hasn't adapted to the game as it's changed and hasn't done much to react/prepare against the likes of Chelsea, Spurs and City's rise up the table. Selling Van Persie to us as well was also a huge mistake. Spurs have got plenty of time to mess things up though and bail Arsenal out. Wouldn't rule out them finishing 5th.
  19. Dawson and Vertonghen were both outstanding in this game. Arsenal had very few chances at all. In truth, the match didn't live up to the hype, but it's not about the that. The result is significant. Arsenal are 24 points off top spot. If that doesn't alarm Arsenal fans, nothing will. Even if they do get fourth, something needs to change because it isn't working. If Spurs go out in the summer and buy 2 quality strikers, and some cover for the midfield, they will cement their top four position. There's still some tough games to come for them.
  20. There we are. 2-1. Can see Podolski coming on and getting a goal now.
  21. Arsenal have a decent looking bench, as there's the likes of Podolski, OxCham and *ahem* Gervinho there. One of those could get a goal. Spurs have Defoe who isn't really fit and Holtby. Next goal changes everything. Spurs get it, it could turn into a rout. Arsenal get it, then bringing on one of those subs could even see them winning this. I would've had Arsenal down to score first based on balance of play, but they didn't capitalise on it. Can easily see Spurs getting a third soon. Once that happens, I can't see any way back for Arsenal. Spurs 4 - 1 Arsenal final score. Also, Arsenal Fans, what's the deal with Koscielny? Injured or just not in form? From what I remember, he was good last season. Mertesacker hinders you more than he helps. I bet Martin Keown is in a corner somewhere crying.
  22. If Ade get's another yellow, then that will give Arsenal a way back. Cazorla and Walcott need to get onto the ball more.
  23. The first bit of quality in the game and Bale scores. Great through ball. Sigurdsson's pass made that goal. Before that, Arsenal were the slightly better team. Neither midfield is really controlling it, though. Both teams are losing the ball. That second goal was even better.
  24. The bus-stop, supermarket and cigarette ones are too true. I love our British awkwardness.
  25. I enjoyed it/loved it up until the shot-glass scene. After that, the film seemed to lose momentum it turned a bit ridiculous. Not saying Bond isn't meant to be ridiculous, but the plot afterwards just took a nose-dive, imo. Everything before-hand was great. The build-up was good, the scene at the casino was a highlight. I have to agree with @Shorty's post a few posts up.
