Hey Nintendo, where's my portable Sin and Punishment?
Fierce_LiNk replied to Debug Mode's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Sin and Punishment on the WiiU with the option of using a WiiMote and Nunchuk plus the added capabilities of the console. Can only be a good thing, imo. I could perhaps live without the online play, provided that the single player was top notch and had replay value. I fancy the idea of a Sin and Punishment appearing and being good for either the WiiU or 3DS than another Starfox. S&P was what Starfox should have been like on the Wii. Different viewpoints and characters and scenary, of course, but the ideas are there. -
It's sad that Bradford couldn't do it in the final, but Swansea are a fantastic footballing side. They are versatile and deserved to get something from this season, whether it's a trophy or a great finish in the league (they might even get both). Potentially, they could have struggled after Rodgers left. At times, they could be a bit one dimensional under him, just pass, pass, pass. But, Laudrup has come and added extra layers to their football. Looking at his record, he achieved so much, it's not easy to win the league in 3 different countries, plus the European Cup to boot. He's a winner. We need more managers like him in football. The intelligent and articulate kind. Scoreline might seem harsh, but they play great football...can't say it's undeserved. As for Bale, he's a fantastic player and you just know that the big offers will be coming in for him soon. When they do, he will go. Unless Spurs start adding extremely high quality players to their squad and start challenging properly for the league, which I can't see happening. They're still playing that shite Adebayor up front. Clint Dempsey isn't the kind of player Bale wants to play with week in week out.

Hey Nintendo, where's my portable Sin and Punishment?

I'll take Sin and Punishment in whatever form it comes. Aha. But, seriously, (the game) I'll have it in any form. Give it to me on 3DS, give it on WiiU, give it on NES. Just gimme the game. I haven't finished S&P2, but it was utterly brilliant. Moar. 3DS seems like a natural fit for it. I imagine it would look drop dead gorgeous with 3D visuals, but...imagine playing it on WiiU, in HD. Now that the option is there, I imagine S&P would look brilliant there, too. -
I never saw many guys working their legs in the gym whilst I was there. In the gym before that, there was even less. It was all biceps, chest and abs. Never saw anybody deadlift, never saw any rows, hardly ever saw squats.

I don't own one at the moment and have far too many games to still play on the Wii. I can't really justify paying hundreds of pounds just to play ZombiU, Need for Speed and Rayman, which are the only three games I want at the moment. It's definitely going to be my console of choice in the future, as I very much enjoyed the Wii. But, why jump in and spend a ton of money on something that will hardly get played when you've already got a console that has a lot of time still left in it? I reckon I could probably survive until the end of this year just finishing off/playing games I've not yet got for the Wii. It's a bit over-priced, too. I can't justify that cost. I spent 180 on a Wii, or there abouts. Paying 100 quid more is a lot to ask.

I've just shaved using shaving soap and the shaving brush that my friend bought me for my birthday. Wonderful! The soap only cost £2 and it's going to last for ages. Should save quite a bit on shaving foam/gel as I need to shave pretty often due to asian genetics. *strokes face* *strokes it again* *once more*

Nintendo and Microsoft in light of the PS4 reveal (Th'rip)
Fierce_LiNk replied to Hogge's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I'm not sure if the fact that Microsoft charge for online will really make a huge difference. It's a difference, but I'm not sure whether it's a complete deal breaker. If the games have good online content and the service is worth it, then it's not too terrible. It's the games that will decide where people go. Nobody will buy a console for Call of Duty solely. But, if there's, say, a Forza and a Call of Duty at launch, then that sways people. But yes, I agree that they're no longer guaranteed certain things. Also, all of this talk about the PS4's controller and the WiiU's controller, what controller with MS be using? The same one? -
Nintendo and Microsoft in light of the PS4 reveal (Th'rip)
Fierce_LiNk replied to Hogge's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Yeah, I'd agree with you on the fact that the PS3 has a stronger exclusive library. I worry for the next Xbox because unless Microsoft/someone starts creating exclusives left, right and centre, it's just going to be a very average system (in terms of games, we're not talking about specs). Nintendo obviously has a big exclusive library and Sony has a growing list of exclusives. These two, to me, are consoles which are aiming to do different things. I believe it'll be possible to enjoy both and have a great time. Unless something spectacular happens, what will be the point in opening the next Xbox AND a PS4? There's just not a great incentive to own both. I didn't even see the point of having a 360 AND a PS3 this gen... -
Nintendo and Microsoft in light of the PS4 reveal (Th'rip)
Fierce_LiNk replied to Hogge's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Hmm, there is and there isn't merit to the argument. Like you say, you're comparing two games to one in just one genre. I think the point he was making was that the 360 has a very big market with "shooters". People who will pick up the console to play the likes of Halo, Gears, CoD (and other third party shooters, too). Likewise, you could argue that each console has their own areas that they are strong in. So, whilst 360 owners pick up that console for its shooters, Wii owners might pick it up for platformers and PS3 owners might want its RPG/Adventure games. Every console has its strengths. I do think he has a point, though. There are people who will pick up the next XBOX just to have the ability to play Halo. Possibly for Gears, too. It's an exclusive, so it does have its draw. Like there will be people buying the PS3 for Uncharted and the WiiU for the next Zelda. -

I'm tempted to agree with him. He didn't really say that all of the 360's exclusives were better than the PS3s, but merely that many more people will fork out for the 360 because of Halo and Gears than they would have done for the PS3 and Killzone. Which, given the popularity of Halo and Gears, I would agree with. -
I'm making more of a concerted effort to put time aside to play this game. Played a fair bit over the last few nights. Still, I'm not very far at all.

We played ok today, great in places and happy to get the win. It was actually a bit easier than I expected it to be, QPR really didn't create much and their defending was terrible at times. Can't really see why they paid so much for Samba on this performance as he was a bit all over the place at times. They're certainly going to go down now, I didn't see enough from them today. Giggs was the best player on the field today by a long way. Controlled that midfield, defended well and was great going forward. He might not have the legs to play every single game or even play at this intensity to much, but when he plays like he did today he is superb. I'm relieved that we haven't been playing him and Scholes together, mind. We'd have no pace in that midfield otherwise.

I have finally seen it.

(Hypothetical question, you'll probably answer with "I don't know" or something) Would you ever use the swords if an intruder came into your house? Or the hunting knife? By use, I mean use on them.

Good scene. :p But it's not really relevant to Europe though, is it? Isn't the point of the tipping system in American to make up for restaurants not paying their staff a good minimum wage? So, the tips are integral to the staff actually getting by. (which is wrong, in my opinion)

I regularly read up on other forums, particular the misc section over at bb.com (it's very different to this place). One of the longest threads of the day is about a member who shot and killed one of three armed intruders who came into his home. This is the thread in question This is the corresponding news article It's amazing how quickly that thread has grown. It does once again raise the issue of whether guns should be allowed in the home. I can see both sides here, but I'm still not entirely sure on how I feel about this issue.

That's what I don't understand. We don't tip shopfloor staff or policemen or bus drivers, so why do we tip waiters/waitresses? In a way, isn't it a bit patronising to do so? "Here you go, good job, have some pennies." They're not inferior...

I can't agree with you on any of those. She is in no way a good actress. She's a pair of talking tits and adds nothing to the Transformers film apart from being visual eye candy. She is also dreadful in Jennifer's Body. As for Transformers, it is pretty much why I don't go to the cinema to watch action films anymore. All cheap explosions, shitty camera work, an almost non-existent plot and wooden acting. Every character in the transformers films is expendable, there is no depth to any of them. It's laughable that given its budget, it is worse in every single way than this. I have zero hope for this Turtles film. The bar has been set really low with the hiring of Megan Fox.

I am sore from the arse down. My calves still ache, my arse, my hamstrings, my quads. There's nothing like leg day. I hate having to get up from a seated position.
-
She is a terrible actress and this is a bad case of mis-casting. Add that with a bad director and you've got a recipe for disaster. Or did you not watch Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen?

Pokemon Red, Blue and Yellow discussion
Fierce_LiNk replied to bob's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I started Yellow over the summer and have briefly been playing it through, as I've never played it (I had Red). It's still a great game, and no matter how many Pokemon Nintendo keep adding, you can never beat the original 151. They seem to have more charm to them than the ones added afterwards. Whoever else are in my party, Kadabra/Alakazam and Haunter/Gengar need to be in there. I ALWAYS start with Squirtle because Blastoise is a beast when you finally get him. I like the idea of having Gyarados, but Magikarp is boring to train. -
That's the part I don't understand. If the meal cost £30 and you leave 5 quid extra, does the waiter/waitress keep it or does it go to the restaurant? What about when they bring the card machine and it adds if you want to leave a tip, does the waiter actually get it? That is awkward. I've never been quite brave enough to tell them to un-add it, I always get worried about causing a scene. It's a bit cheeky, though. I'm not sure why exactly you need to give a service charge anyway? Does this mean we need to tip bus drivers, too? Or policemen?
-
Wow. Speechless. This is a terrrriiible casting choice. I'm going to buy the cartoons instead of paying to see this drivel. Edit: Just making sure, that wasn't a joke post, right? They are actually hiring Megan Fox for this?
