Excellent, excellent game.

Rio Ferdinand is leaving the club after not being offered a new deal. I think it's the right time. We need new blood and he's far too injury prone to be in the squad. It has to happen. Excellent player for us and has won so much. Will be sad to see him and Vidic leave, but hopeful for the future. Hopefully we'll be back in for Garay.

Maybe if the slope is angled upwards, with Nintendo at the bottom. Two steps up, four steps down, something like that. Edit: With a paddling pool at the bottom. Edit, the sequel:

They wouldn't be able to create a real-life football sim with the players' names though, right? Due to the FIFA licensing. Tbh, I don't trust Nintendo in their current state to be able to provide something like this.

If we keep guessing, can you give us a cough when we get to the right answer? Was it Jive Talkin Negros?

I've played another hour and a half of this game tonight. Amaaaaaazing. It's awesome. Why wasn't there one of these on the Wii?!

I'm hyped for this but won't watch the trailer as I'm going into it blind. Star Wars Episode III is on telly right now. Fuaaaark, the script is terrible. I remembered it being awful, but some of the lines in here are horrifically brilliant. "You are so... beautiful." "It's only because I'm so in love." "No, it's because I'm so in love with you." "So love has blinded you?" Bwhahahahahahaha.

Possibly, but if there's no other choice and if that's the only way to secure the games, what's the alternative? The games won't come otherwise. It's not really something I can see Iwata doing anyway.

Gamers - What Are You Playing At The Moment?
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Here's what I'm currently focusing on atm: Wii U - Super Mario 3D World Wii - Rayman Origins Dreamcast - Jet Set Radio GameCube - F Zero GX. I think that's it so far. I'm trying to play one game per system and then will move on. I've realised that switching between games doesn't work for me, but switching between systems isn't too terrible. -
I'm still waiting for this to happen. Would absolutely kill for a Metroid "Trilogy" remake of the first three games: The original/Zero Mission, II and Super Metroid. Hnnnnnnnnnngggg. I'm not usually one for remakes or re-releases. But, this would be unique and very much appreciated.

This is part of the problem, I don't think Nintendo operate that way. Are they known to dip their hands into their wallets to secure games? They need FIFA there, for sure. They also need to snap up a deal with Konami and get PES on side, too. Can't believe there's no Minecraft game available in some form for the Wii U...

Saw this yesterday. It slayed me. 2:45 onwards killed me. Dat noise.

SCG: You've found the Megaton right there.

The idea of this sounds great, but this could potentially be veeeeery, very expensive. Will wait to see what happens before I judge. All of this Disney Infinity stuff seems to be getting good reviews, right? If so, no reason why Nintendo can't do something similar.

Do Nintendo still have what it takes to produce hardware?
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
They had the PS2 version to borrow from. The differences between FIFA on the PS2 and Wii were negligible, it was very easy to port over. If the Wii U sold more, FIFA might be there. Maybe. The relationships between Nintendo and third parties is deteriorating, though. That is another reason why the games aren't coming. The Wii U will be more attractive at a lower price, but so much of the damage has already been done that I'm not sure how salvageable it is. The price point was too high to start with and I don't see the third parties coming/coming back. I've already seen deals for the PS4 at around the £320 mark, sometimes even lower. Pretty sure there were deals at 299 on HotDeals the other day. When you look at what both consoles offer, is there that much value for money in the Wii U? This is where Nintendo worry me and this is why they need to plan things properly next time around when they create their new system. When you think about what the current systems offer in terms of functionality, it's obscene the Wii U can't even do basic things like play a DVD. When you factor that in, the PS4 does look better value for money in terms of functionality. I think I pointed this out before. The gamers are the ones who will invest in the system religiously and they are the ones who will pick up the exclusives, the online games, etc. Families and casuals are too relaxed in terms of purchases. They may dip in every now and then, but they won't buy a game a month or a week for example. -
As much as it hurts to admit it, City deserve to win the league, so well done to them. It hurts knowing that your team is so behind the competition. We weren't great again today against Southampton and the one moment of quality on our behalf was the Mata freekick. I'm so happy that this season is over and hopeful for the next one. We need to start again. Well done to Liverpool for finishing second. Although it's a disappointment to not win the league, getting second above Chelsea, Arsenal, United and Spurs is a big achievement.

I'm playing this game right now. One thing that annoys me is the camera. Why can't I have complete reign over it at my choosing? The levels are pretty and I want to just spin the camera around so I can see it from various angles. It seems like a lot of the time it's fixed. Such a shame for such a beautiful game.

I agree 200% with everything you just said. I feel that we are in the same boat because we both bought our Wii Us at around the same time, didn't we? Around this time last year, I think? That last paragraph is what I was getting at with my hardware thread; if they fuck up now (which they have), it'll affect the performance of their next console. These issues now have a disastrous long-term effect and it makes it harder to entice people to buy your system if you're already starting off on the wrong foot with them. This part is what hurts me the most. Whilst the Wii was weaker in terms of hardware last gen, I felt that there was still plenty of exclusives to draw people in. We had the likes of Silent Hill and Dead Space to make good use of the Wiimote features. The system didn't get a lot of third party releases, but we got games ready made for the system, the likes of NiGHTS, House of the Dead: Overkill, No More Heroes, etc. I feel annoyed because we should be getting exclusives making use of the GamePad AND the third party ports due to it being more powerful. Instead, we're getting neither.

Do Nintendo still have what it takes to produce hardware?
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Genuinely surprised at this attitude. You're one for self-improvement, yes? That's all we want for Nintendo, to improve. It's not a bad thing to look at what the competition is doing and implement a few of their ideas, many have certainly done this over the years with regards to Nintendo. Innovation works in many ways. Simply telling others to "buy a Playstation" isn't the answer we're looking for. Absolutely everyone on this forum wants Nintendo to succeed, otherwise we wouldn't be here. The reason why many are being negative is because they have been given a reason to feel that way. If things are going well, then everybody is happy. When things aren't going well, people get negative...or defensive. It's obvious things aren't going well. Critically and commercially. Again, bringing us back to this topic: Do Nintendo have it in them to produce hardware of a high quality? I feel that the answer you would receive today is a far less positive one than one you would have received 10 years ago. -
This is one of those games that I'll pick up when I clear some of my Wii backlog.

I'm stepping into a minefield here, but I'll give this a go. :p An "oopsy daisy" moment? An "accidental" mistake? This game probably spent many months in production. Are you telling me that at no point during this game's inception, the research phase, testing, etc that nobody pointed out that such an option wasn't available? Somewhere along the line, this would have been raised. It's naive to think it hasn't. If that's the case and it's truly an "innocent mistake", then the company are even more naive and oblivious than we think. This is a life-sim and should reflect many aspects of real life. You say it's "just a game". Well, games are right up there now with films, music and books as an art form and a popular mode of entertainment. Is Star Wars just a film, given that it's influenced many industries, lifestyles, forms of media, or is it much more than that? An important point to think about. Nintendo SHOULD be stressing about this in some way because they have potentially upset some of their audience. These are people, not just consumers. I don't know how homosexuality is perceived in the East, but this game is being marketed and sold in the West, too. Not knowing your audience and some of the social issues that they encounter on a daily basis is unforgivable. If you want to sell the game to the West, you need to know the audience. In this case, Nintendo has neglected what I would say is decent proportion of their audience. Finally, Nintendo are often being cited as saying that they produce games for everyone. They are a family company, a company that makes games for everybody from the age of 3 to 303. If they truly are as inclusive as they say they are, then they should be the ones setting an example and leading the way for others. You can't on the one hand say that you make games for everyone, whilst simultaneously excluding people; accidental or not.

Awesome...technique.

Do Nintendo still have what it takes to produce hardware?
Fierce_LiNk replied to Fierce_LiNk's topic in Nintendo Gaming
Not sure if srs. Are you sleep walking through this current generation? The third parties are abandoning Nintendo's systems. No FIFA support may not mean much to you, but it's absolutely huge in the grand scheme of things. They're not coming to the system for a multitude of reasons, and one of those reasons is that the hardware just isn't good enough. It isn't future proof...there are games appearing later this year for the other systems that are simply not coming to the Wii U. Need for Speed: Rivals didn't make it onto the system. Alien Isolation isn't coming. There are more and it'll only get worse when developers firmly move over to the PS4/One. Like I stated in my initial post, Nintendo are too focused on creating a gimmick or unique controller, rather than actually making sure that third party games come. It's not good enough to have a solid or good launch line-up, they need to ensure that the third parties will be there from the start and right to the very end. As for your question: Does this question need to be asked? Absolutely...The actions of this generation will affect whether or not consumers purchase the next system. How many gamers will pick up a PS4 because they had a PS3 and it's the natural progression to do so? If you're burned by the Wii U (which many are), why would you then go on to pick up the next Nintendo system if they don't appear to be learning from their mistakes? -
It was a massive improvement over last year and we didn't disgrace ourselves with a bad song. Build on that for next year. U WOT M8? Don't make me go 4-2-4 Very Offensive, Wing Plays on your arse. Armenia's song was good. I'm listening to it right now on Youtube.
