Replays are fucking excellent. Being able to use photo mode within the replays as well is just...such a good decision. It's excellent. Really happy with it.

I've slowly come around to the idea of using the control stick for tricks and the x button to land. It seemed so alien at first but now I've got the hang of it. The first 15 minutes, all I saw was SLOPPY. SLOPPY. SLOPPY. Grr.

I've never really been a completionist or one to get absolutely everything. It's even harder now to get everything as trophies are involved and now there are online trophies, too. I usually prefer being able to get to the credits screen or end of a certain story. If there are little extra missions or cutscenes after you complete all of the sidequests or if it's something that helps the story, then I'd attempt to get that. It's not massively important to me to go into a game and get absolutely everything. With Shadow of Mordor, I was close to the end of the game and realised that I had most of the trophies, so I thought, "why not?" and just went for the platinum.

This was our best performance in months, especially the first half. We attacked with pace and used the strengths of our players to have an impact on the game. Carrick's passing, Herrera and Mata's intelligence, Fellaini's ability to cause issues with his height and strength (fucking great hold up play, too) and Young's pace down the wing. We were excellent in midfield. We need to play like this on a more regular basis and we definitely need to be playing attacking football. That is our biggest strength. We went for possession football at 3-0 up which is fine as it killed the game, there is a place for it. Carrick was shite against Arsenal last week but was tied with Fellaini for man of the match for me.

No, @Hero\-of\-Time is absolutely right. It was a discussion about platformers before you needlessly brought up the PS4 comparison. To make it even worse for you, you were wrong in your comparisons, too. The title of your image is http://s14.postimg.org/ocq975boh/colour.jpg. Colour...so, you are were basically judging a variety of games based on their boxarts. I would just give up if I were you.

The quick retry system in this is perfect. It's instantaneous. I said to myself that I'd have one quick 5 minutes session before bed but ended up playing for the full hour. It's addictive as hell.

Yeah, I was happy with what they were doing with the old engines and thought the jump up to WiiU would obviously mean the games would benefit. I never once thought that the games wouldn't appear. To me, that was unthinkable. Every games console gets FIFA, for example...(not talking about past SEGA systems here) There's a massive hole on the WiiU for sports games but I wonder if the audience is there anyway. If the next FIFA appeared, I still wouldn't buy it as I could buy a better version of it elsewhere. I've been seriously impressed with the content of FIFA15 and will admit that I had previously underestimated the improvements and constant updates to it that EA provide.

There's nothing really wrong with modern gaming. Maybe you should actually play these games for yourself instead of just going off their boxarts.

I got that and you're probably right in that he doesn't get enough credit.

Sports actually covers a massive range, too. The last football title I believe was...FIFA13? Is that right? It wasn't even a good FIFA! I was looking forward to the evolution of PES as it was godly on the Wii.

I've never played a Dark Souls game and I have no idea what to expect with Bloodborne. I'm going to hold off and wait for a price drop and I'll gauge from the reactions on here whether or not I'll pick it up. I've got a bit of that fear of the unknown. If I come back in a month's time and everyone is pumped about it, I'll go for it.

Pretty much what Ashley said. You went full retard and your plan to claim that the list of games you posted weren't diverse essentially backfired. You have absolutely no idea what you are talking about when you're trying to compare Battlefield and Far Cry.

As an impartial fan, (well, impartial in the sense that I don't follow either Spurs, Arsenal or Chelsea), I'd say that all three have had good seasons. Kane has been the most impressive, although I'd say that Costa has been a close second due to it being his first season in England and him coming from a highly successful team and being highly rated. He's lived up to the hype. Giroud has a different set of circumstances to these two so he'll always look third impressive, despite him having a good season.

The Order 1886 - Interesting setting and heavily story driven action game Evolve - co-operative first person shooter Bloodborne - Action role playing game The Division - (not even out yet) massively multiplayer online action shooter Shadow of Mordor - open world adventure game The Witcher 3 - action role playing game Dark souls 2 - hack and slash rpg Batman Arkham Knight - action/adventure open world Dying Light - open world survival horror The Evil Within - Survival horror Judging by what you've listed, according to their genres, the only two that are alike are The Witcher 3 and Bloodborne...which are nothing alike. Thank you for highlighting the diverse range of genres, themes and settings and for reminding me that The Witcher 3 and Batman are both out soon (as well as potential game of the year Bloodborne).

It's not really a bad thing in one sense. It shows that there is some strength in this area on the system. If there was the same kind of depth with sports games, racers, etc, then all would be fine.

I bought Watchdogs last summer and played the shit out of it. Loved it, but never got around to finishing it as work started up again and other games arrived which I spent my time on (The Last of Us, FIFA, etc). I went back to it yesterday and finished the main story. Overall, I think it's an underrated game and one which I very much enjoyed playing. The hacking is fantastic and the final few missions add a nice bit of variety to round things off nicely. I enjoyed it. Games of 2015 Middle Earth: Shadow of Mordor - Finished and Platinumed Transistor - Finished The Walking Dead Season One - Finished and Platinumed inFAMOUS Second Son - good ending completed Watchdogs - started in 2014, finally finished main story

I'd still class myself as a Nintendo fan, although the WiiU has burned me and I'd say that I'm not happy with their current direction. I own the Nes, SNES, N64, Cube, Wii and WiiU so I enjoy the games that appear there when they get it right. I have my Wii hooked up in my bedroom and have F Zero GX inserted into the drive. My qualm with Nintendo is that they're not really giving me what I want or need in a game right now. Doesn't mean I'm not a fan, I'm just not satisfied. Xenoblade hit the right spot for me on the Wii and X is really the one standout game that I'm after.

Haha, you're one to talk! You're the most negative person in the football thread and can appear that way in a lot of other places, too. Also, what Happenstance said is a legitimate question and your "deflection" tactics aren't fooling anybody. Anyway, even I'm tired of all of this voice chat stuff (even though I'd like to know if it is there). It's boring to have it mentioned and also boring to see the why do we have to talk about voice chat agaaaain posts. For what it's worth...I don't think the game appears to be that great, to be honest. It's not something that I'm desperately eager to play. I'm finding it all a bit strange how it's suddenly being rated as a must-have by people on here.

No joke, I almost swerved our car when Ine told me that Tomb Raider was Xbox One exclusive after picking her up from a long day at work. Hopefully we'll be able to play both! Even if it is in 2016. Hmm.

Pretty much this. Providing that this whole thing isn't just a publicity stunt or staged or whatever, this is a bit outrageous. I know we're used to that with Clarkson, but the fact that there are something like 30,000 people out there who have signed a petition to get him reinstated is ridiculous. He's fucked up, so he should be punished. I understand that he's worth a lot to the BBC, but the BBC also have an image that they need to uphold and letting things like this slide sends out a bad message to others.
-
I wasn't expecting this to arrive this year anyway, always thought it was a long shot.
-
Tbh, I'm not a handheld gamer and don't really see myself buying the next one. Ine owns a 3DS but it never gets used. I haven't changed that much, tbh. If all of the games that I'm playing were available on the WiiU and they were the best versions of that game (and other things, like if the hard drive space was larger or if there was something like PS+) then I'd be playing them there.
-
I do still want to play it, but I'm not exactly in a rush to at the moment as I've got a lot of games that I'm either already joining or at yet to start. Plus, my WiiU has been disconnected for at least a month. Maybe two. Can't see that changing any time soon. (also, not sure how much space I have left on the drive...)

Fucking exhausted. I conquered 108kg squats for 3 sets of 5 tonight. A personal record. Also managed to deadlift 135kg for 2 sets of 5, another record! I've knocked the squats down from 5 sets to 3 as it was beginning to have an impact on some other areas. My bench pressing in particular has stalled and I'm finding it more manageable to get through the exercises and push myself more with the higher weight by keeping the squats to 3 sets. At some point, I'll de-load and work my way back up using 5 sets. The Christmas break made it impossible to train as I wasn't really at home and then I had a slight problem with my ankle, which meant that I didn't work my way back up to 100kg as quickly as I had wanted to. I seem to be at a good point now where I can add the weight and lift it.

So angry at that second half performance. We were alright in the first half. Carrick looked terrible in the second half, worryingly bad and so far off the pace it was unbelievable. Valencia...the most one-footed, one-trick pony that I have ever seen making a basic mistake that even schoolkids don't make. Smalling isn't much better. Di Maria deserved to go. No questions about it. Fucking seething that Januzaj went down when he was in a very good position. We made it so easy for Arsenal tonight. They deserved the win but we sabotaged it ourselves with suicidal defending and stupid ill-discipline. I'm tired of watching us play the ball between the defenders and the keeper only to do nothing with the ball and lose it. This isn't how we should be playing football.
