  1. I could swear the game was super violent and gory when they showed it off at E3. Maybe there's an option in the Settings
  2. That's a very slick trailer. Art style is gorgeous, lovely sprite work and the gameplay looks fun. Still pretty crazy Nintendo lending it's beloved IP like this. Also... Cadence of Hyrule - Crypt of the NecroDancer featuring the Legend of Zelda must be a record for a game title.
  3. This is the type of game that I think is better suited to the Switch. Quick pick up and play when you have 5-10 minutes here or there. I was holding off buying it on Xbox for that very reason. Can't wait to finally play this game.

    RAD

I guess Totally Rad was taken This looks great, count me in for most things Double Fine puts out.
  5. Nice tweet from Damon Baker. It would, but I really think it's going to be Minecraft Steve. It just makes more sense sadly, Minecraft is one of the biggest things in gaming, and Banjo... is not. lol
  6. Excuse my language but that was fucking awesome. Presentation, pace, game selection, surprises, they nailed it all. They've really been on fire when it comes to Directs these past couple of years. I'll be buying probably three out of every four games shown, what a great selection. Nice mention of Microsoft in the Cuphead segment too. Probably just the start of their games being ported to Switch. Also Nintendo sharing the Zelda IP to indie devs now?? I can't imagine they would do it unless they were 100% confident in the quality. Cadence of Hyrule looks awesome. Also kudos to Nintendo for continuing to do such a great job promoting indie games and their devs. Another reminder how fantastic the Switch is.
  7. And I think about half a percent of people who bought it at launch bought it at that £30 retail version you keep mentioning. The vast majority of sales will have either been £45-50 retail or £60 digital. The fact that you can buy digital codes for £35 for PC shows the game performed even better than NPD is suggesting because digital PC sales aren't counted.
  8. Switch was the highest selling console again in February https://venturebeat.com/2019/03/19/switch-outsells-xbox-ps4/
  9. Nothing to do with laziness, I went with a digital copy on my Xbox. If any game suits digital over retail it's a live service game that's constantly changing and relies on servers to be running to work. The retail copy was out of date (like most reviews) from day 1. Anyway the point is the a game like Anthem will have a higher percentage of digital sales than a game like God of War or Red Dead. You can find keys to digital copies for £35 online, so proving my point that digital will be higher, but it's £43/£48 on Amazon for consoles.
  10. It's still selling for £43/£48 on Amazon for the standard edition. It might have been 30 on some site for a short amount of time but it's doubtful that tipped the scales much. This is a live service game that suits digital more than most titles. Which makes it a shame that PC sales weren't counted in those already great NPD numbers.
  11. These 6 seconds are still burned into my brain. I mentally play it whenever I'm about to go out Christmas shopping on Oxford Street
  12. Yeah great result, have to say I was a little surprised. The UK sales figures were physical only I thought, and given this is a GaaS I imagine a big chunk of its sales will be digital? Hell my copy is and I almost always go physical for AAA games. The boxed copy of the game will be obsolete from day 1 so why bother really. It's different for a game like Andromeda which is just a one and done single player campaign.
  13. News just out, not so inevitable. It's #1 in the US according to NPD and the second highest sales of any Bioware game apart from ME3 (which itself had an extra 3 weeks it's in release month and was a beloved IP wrapping up). Numbers don't count digital PC sales either.
  14. Thanks, no need though! Hoping for some more info about Steamworld Quest. I wasn’t too sold on it from the brief trailer we saw recently
  15. Great idea and very clear OP. Wow this is hard, only 5 games! - Super Mario Bros 3 - DuckTales - Zelda II: Adventure of Link - Mega Man 3 - Bubble Bobble Much as I would love to include Ice Climber or Balloon Fight, I can't really justify it.
  16. Not a new story but this is a fun article about the food and drink that'll be available at Galaxy's Edge. Some lovely photos and weird looking food/drink, including of course blue (and green!) milk https://www.starwars.com/news/star-wars-galaxys-edge-food-beverages
  17. True! Still think the trailer is pretty generic, most Marvel films look interchangeable so it’s exacerbated when they literally use clips from other films in it. On the plus side they’re clearly not showing much from the actual film, which is great.
  18. I adore the Captain Toad theme tune, so full of charm and adventure. Really hope the game/DLC sells enough for Nintendo to make a sequel. It can't take a huge amount of development muscle compared to some of their other first party games.
  19. Tralier didn't do anything for me, just looks like the usual Marvel fare/setpieces we've seen 20 times now, but that poster is cool!
  20. I'll be watching the teaser trailer at Celebration and nothing after that, like I did with 7 and 8. The thatrical trailers are way too spoilery for me, even if they don't ruin plot points, they ruin setpieces and locations etc. I'd love to avoid the teaser too but that'll never happen.
