  1. Yeah I completely agree with this. The other problem of them running out of book material + the show's popularity is that there's a ton of fan service, which normally is a good thing but they just take it so far. Also they seem absolutely obsessed with callbacks and mirroring earlier season quotes/situations/camera angles/scenes etc. I've lost count now. Not everything needs to mirror the earlier seasons but it seems the showrunners disagree.
  2. Bran did tell them about the *spoiler*, he said "he's one of them now" in the first episode.
  3. Personally I'd rather they spent 45 minutes on the battle and then the following 37 on advancing the various storylines. There's a lot to wrap up and not much time to do it, especially if there's another big battle against the white walkers coming in a future episode (I can't imagine the good guys defeat them straight away)
  4. Have to admit the difficulty is putting me off getting it. I mean I probably still will, I think it's one of those games you just have to play, but I can imagine it being really frustrating and I'll prob never finish it.
  5. I enjoyed yesterday's episode a lot more than last week but it seems a bit strange to me that we've had seven years and two episodes, and only NOW are finally getting a proper white walker battle... with 4 episodes of the show left. I'll be amazed if they wrap up not only the white walker storyline but the whole of Westeros in a satisfying way in just 4 episodes.
  6. Yeah but at the same time AAA games are bigger with better production values than ever before, yet being sold to us for the same price as thirty years ago, or much cheaper if you're willing to wait a month or two. It's a complex issue really, that I don't really want to open the can of worms on again. I'm just saying, content wise we're spoiled these days
  7. He knows his audience. They're ravenous for things like that = more clicks
  8. Apart from Bomberman (over Contra/Probotector, come on!) that’s a damn fine list of games. Whoever else voted for Pilotwings, well done that man/woman. Sadly for the top 10 I can imagine three titles are going to get most of the votes here.
  9. Yes ResetEra was going nuts over this yesterday. Gamexplain reported on the news last night
  10. The guy makes me feel like I'm watching an episode of Rebels for some reason. Dunno what it is. Seemed fun enough, disappointed no gameplay footage. For some reason I assumed we'd see some. Not openworld apparently but there'll be large areas to explore. Hoping for something like God of War.
  11. I still need to hunt down the footage in good quality. I watched the panel and came away very impressed with the three cast members, and Favreau/Filloni. I have a really good feeling about this series. Also, I LOVE the ship.
  12. What a let down that was. They have 6 episodes to wrap up the entire white walker and Westeros storylines with all the characters and subplots that go with them... and they spend one of those episodes having characters meet or reunite with each other, and very little else. Nothing said "we left ourselves so much to do that we have to rush through plotlines" better than...
  13. I've done a complete 180 on the title, after hearing the theories online. Have a watch of the 2-3 min vid from IGN on the previous page about the possible meaning of the Skywalker part. Not if Skywalker is the new name for a Force users, as theories are suggesting. Unfortunately the echo chamber for Last Jedi, from a minority of hissy fitting fanboys turned the majority against it. A shame. I'm with you, I really hope they don't backpeddle on Rey's parents being nobodies. That was a very smart move in 8.
  14. Pilotwings Super Probotector Super Mario World A Link to the Past Star Wing (no room for Kart)
  15. VERY interesting theory about the title, they've got me convinced... Would also be a great way of ushering a new post-saga era, whilst still respecting what started it all. Might need to read that book.
  16. The biggest take-away from the IX panel to me was JJ describing the film as an adventure these characters go on, I LOVED the sound of that. That to me is what Star Wars is about. That's why I think The Phantom Menace is the only decent prequel film. Ep II and III weren't an adventure at all, just a hodgepodge of CGI and setpieces on various places with characters jumping around all over the place. Having this (fantastic) new cast of characters sticking together for a chunk of the film really gives me good vibes. I'm glad the teaser trailer barely showed anything of the film, makes me happy to go on media blackout from now till release. I'm not a massive fan of the title, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. My big fear with this film is they've given in to "fan" (and I use that term loosely) pressure and are pandering to their demands rather than follow through with their vision. The big reveal at the end was incredibly surprising. In no way did I expect that. Overall very happy, CANNOT f-ing wait. I 100% trust JJ to deliver a brilliant conclusion to the saga and I also liked what he said about having to do that AND tell a great standalone story for these characters. Bring it on. Plus Lando flying the Falcon again
  17. WOW. Was NOT expecting that at the end!!! Both the cameo or the title
  18. On the whole I'm sure it won't. I'm just talking my own tastes here, I'd personally much rather see an original trilogy or sequel era game. I'll gladly trust Respawn to tell a great story regardless though. Yeah and the fact that it looks old, like it's been there a while could point to it being a few years after RotS.
  19. I hope so. The IV era TIE fighters in that poster give me hope. I just rewatched the scene at the very end of RotS and they definitely don't look like the ships in that Death Star construction scene. Not long till we find out I guess...
