No, sorry I hate to be rude but my dad, my brother and I watch the Simpsons every night, hell it was the main part of our lives, but not only is it not funny anymore, it is embarrassing, and an insult to what were the funniest (maybe ten) series of any show ever. The original show was brilliant. Now its like watching the corpse of my childhood dog being used as a prop in a panto. I just can't sit through them anymore because it makes me so angry. Let it die.

Okay so the first one this week was good, bu the second was absoloutly f*cking stunning. One of the single best episodes I have ever seen. Scrubs is seriously back in form and that was proof. Shame there was no Turk, but everyone else was brilliant. So happy right now.

Really? Where's this coming from.

I was answering a question of legitimacy, not moral grounding. Look Tibet is a massive topic and we did it like six months ago. I answered all the arguments people threw at me then, so search for that if you want. I think it was just called 'free tibet'.

It's an aspect of their society that has been around since the Chinese state begun. Its intricacies are the subject of 1000 word dissertations, but it was explained to me as making business partners part of the family, allowing greater trust. So if you want to do business with someone, you take them out for dinner, show your respect to them and get to know them. Its worked like that for a while, and the chinese themselves seem to have no problems with it. It mainly happens in the big three cities (from what i've seen doesn't even exist outside of there) and as a result of ex-pats and other foreigners going over there and taking advantage of the exchange rate. This is a point of opinion. Personally, even though we'll see changes, I reckon the core of Chinese government will stay like this for a while. They've tried true democracy, they've tried republicanism. Its either this or back to a monarchy. Alright, exam tomorrow. I'll answer the rest tomorrow. Thanks for the discussion lads.

This is a good post. The UK government do a good job of of running the UK, but a country of 1.3bil? When one in three children live in poverty? If a country is taking over the entire world, yeah I want China. As for Tibet, I say what I always say, they have far more reason to be there than the UK does to be in the Falklands. But you never hear about that do you? Well except in Argentina.

They were hung - hardly call that getting away with it.

What China has isn't corruption, its guanxi, its just labelled as corruption by foreigners who don't understand it. Salary disparity exists but less than any other country in the world (China proper), and everyone in China proper, non autonomous regions, is guaranteed a job by the state. The Chinese government are moving people out of poverty at an extraordinary rate, in rural areas poverty has plummeted to 15 million in 2007 from 250 million in 1978. Read that again. I have spent extensive time in both countries and I can firmly say that China is a country that, although not perfect, is improving at a ridiculous rate, compared to India which is just a sick, sick country. If I had just western press to go on I'd believe the same as you guys.

Ha, yeah if you got the money. The country is still run by warlords for god sake. I mean f*ck, if that's democracy, 9 year old girls walking down train tracks naked looking for something to eat whilst 20 km away men live in 5 story houses and consume banquets at each meal, I want nothing to do with it. That country made me sick.

Over my dead body, that corrupt ass f*cking country needs a revolution or somethings. It has a rich/poor divide that is just evil. China on the other hand, I'm looking forward to it.

To those who've played it, how does the gameplay improve over the original? I played the first and turned it off after a half hour because I thought it was extremely mediocre and uninteresting. I am a big FPS fan but it just bored me. What does the second do differently?

I was more impressed by Lowry's speech. I'm about as atheist as it gets but damn if that wasn't moving.

Okay so I been playing this for the first time today and....it's freaking awesome. Seriously loving it, original, great looking, fun. The combat with the guards isn't great but that just gives you more reason to try and avoid them. I can imagine people would be pissed if they payed over £20 for it though.

I think it's a clever move to start the game of in the day. Makes it all the scarier when the sun goes down. I'm going to give this a chance. I think a lot of people are being overly critical over minor things, when overall the game still looks extremely solid, and it's blatantly obvious they are putting a lot of effort in. All the same i'll be waiting for the final product to make a judgement.

Hmm, many a person seem to be attending this little party, I shall have to make more of an effort to get myself there. However, unless the elder among us intend to run through the night, I shall be getting the late train back home, being that i'm only about half hour away. Save me the cost of a hotel room.

OMG, FPS games now. Seriously, f*ck your graphics and your online and 1000 enemies, I want this. Incredible, bloody incredible.

Dude, we do one every six months. It's practically tradition. And I'll say this again, I know it'll never happen. I just like getting some ideas out there.
-
Excited at first but i'm looking at it again and it looks very generic. Waiting for some more hands on.

OoT any day of the week. In my eyes the game is the perfect amount of everything. When it was released it was the closest to perfection any game has ever come. Also, who voted for Links Awakening? I'm just interested to know why.

But, (and this is rare so get ready for this), i'm thinking of the more casual gamer here. Why should those players who love playing the game and put plenty of hours into it fare worse than the hardcore just because they aren't checking Serebii's website to see who has 3EV value. I think the spirit behind the game would be far improved if a trainers who walked along side their pokemon, fought it against every species of pokemon, played with it in its favourite minigames, fed it its favourite food and generally treated it with a little love should beat the trainer who grinds over and over in the same spot, fighting the same pokemon over and over.
