  1. Yeah if you click through the gameplay video you can very much see it is from the DKC Returns mould. For a second I was reminded of an old freebie Tony the Tiger PC game too. See what you're getting at with the possible "arranged by" technicality. For what it's worth, at the end of the gameplay video they say "the music IS David Wise" and on Wikipedia it says "Original music" which is the same as, for example, has been put for DKC Returns. Although, the citation is the arranged by quote so maybe we'll just have to keep an ear to the ground until it's clear exactly what Wise has and hasn't done for this one.
  2. This was the "one more thing" at the April Indie World Showcase. It's coming out on 08/08/2024 for £25. https://www.nintendo.com/en-gb/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/SteamWorld-Heist-2-2558196.html The above video is a sit-down interview with the producer that is interspersed with some footage. Here are some of the points mentioned: been a four-year project, so in development a little less than that nine years since Heist 1! made Heist II because there were things they wanted to do in Heist but were unable to. E.g. huge world map where you explore the ocean and engage in naval battles the aim is to make all SteamWorld titles approachable for people unsure if they like the genre of each game, while still deep Hats inspired by Team Fortress and Valve games they used to play Has a job system. Change weapon to change job. Some abilities carry over when you change. There will be powerful combinations to discover. Has difficulty settings (preset or customisable) to let newbies and veterans tailor it to their tastes When folders were added to Switch, I made one for eShop games I'd bought on a whim but hadn't played. SteamWorld Heist went into that folder and to this day remains untouched. I keep meaning to go back and finish Dig first but never seem to get around to it. They mention Heist is sort of similar to Worms, which is a comparison that hadn't struck me before. But now I've heard it, I get it and Heist has shot right back up my to play soon list.
  3. https://www.n-europe.com/news/sonic-x-shadow-generations-summer-game-fest-trailer/ N-E has this trailer and the pre-order stuff up. Release date too: October 25th.
  4. A few things for the Switch emerged during this "E3 weekend", Nikoderiko: The Magical World is down for 2024 and is one that stands out not just because it looks like Tail Spin and the Lion King, but because David Wise is doing the music. Definitely one to keep tabs on to see how it turns out. Not seeing an eShop page for it as yet.
  5. Thwarted once again. Have no idea how a stamina match works in Smash Bros.—I always just left it on five minute scraps.
  6. I noticed there's a demo for this on the eShop. Forgot it had been deemed worth a mention here so I went past it because it looked pretty naff. Will get it on the next pass (the Hollow Knight game trial will have to be archived to make way for it). Thank Goodness You're Here doesn't have a demo—or page, even—on the eShop as yet, however for those of you with additional means of gaming, a demo is indeed in circulation.
  7. Good for you for sticking to your guns and not organising stock matches any more.
  8. After ten thousand years! I've just watched that a few times. Mainly for the music. The 3D bits look good and fighting Eye Guy first-person in the Megazord. You just know Bulk and Skull will be kept for DLC.
  9. Was going to ask where on a scale of "thing that happened" to "nothingburger" it fell but it seems to have been covered.
  10. Oh. That is the Horizon you are supposed to default to now? Could have been any other number of games with Horizon in the title, or a film crossover. Not exactly opening the floodgates for Lego Panorama, Lego Attenborough, Lego Who Do You Think You Are? then. Hope it's good and gets reduced to a tenner.
  11. EGGCONSOLE Sorcerian PC-8801mkIISR comes out next week, on 13th June. It will be £5.39. The main game and gallery are in Japanese, How to Play and other menus are in English. There's a video through the link.
  12. Don't suppose anyone knows if this Persona 3 Aigis G-Mode thing is any good? (Yes, to follow up on the previous post, I finished P3P last year, in 2023. It outstayed its welcome.)
  13. Wonder if that's why it's the only thing here that got through the filter I'm using. A short-lived victory.
  14. Thanks for the races. Everyone else after GP1 to Glen-i: Ego: No.
  15. I can never remember if it was this or Yoku's Island Express (Yuka, Yocku, Yooka, Yoku) you said to skip so I always pass up both.
  16. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/live/cw0010vjr2dt?post=asset%3Abe5ddcbf-ed54-475e-8f56-476e14be2931#post Credit to kickmaster Southgate for some of these exclusions. Plus he didn't even call up the likes of Hendo, Rashfad and Sterling to begin with.
  17. This is currently free as a game trial. It is also 50% off. I will try to give it a go to see what all the fuss has been about, but mainly to snag the +100 platinum points for playing game trial software.
  18. It's 100 years before text crawl. We are being treated to a look back at this part of the Jedi's past*.
  19. HK is 50% off on the eShop. Smacks of a clearance before the sequel... Indeed. I started with a nice reminder it could be time to check out a new Story of Seasons and/or Rune Factory (or get Harvestella off the shelf), to seeing some weird and quirky stuff in the Next Indie Direct, then when I read INDIE3 was set to feature 180+ games (not all new, admittedly) I decided I just don't need to know.
  20. Not sure if they're having their own this year or if their news is just folded in with Summer Geoff Fest?
  21. Checked Tee Lopes on Wikipedia and I don't have any of the games he's worked on so this will be the first, provided it turns out well. Which I really hope it does.
  22. Lol. The bar was so low already you'd think they'd have trouble to get under it, yet the hype man wants those expectations kept in check. Much like the release calendar being out of control, I feel these showcases and directs have followed suit—too much to keep up with. I managed two so far before tapping out.
  23. Hope the sax life is paying off for you.
  24. Downloaded this demo due to seeing it flagged up on N-E but yet to try it. Kittey 64 looks all right, though not totally like an N64 game. I have gold coins to get through by the end of July so I'm going to keep it in mind.
  25. Another forum has been having troubles with slowness, even to the point of going down. Also Powered by Invision Community.
