  1. Agree with you about it being strangely relaxing. It was a game I thought I'd put on for less than a minute and be done with but that wasn't the case as I went through some of the career mode. I like how you can check your progress with each individual object/ part to be cleaned. When I realised it's generous enough about counting something as done (thought you'd have to pixel-hunt the last specks of dirt), it became quite soothing to go back to during the trial period. Won't be buying it right away, but it's definitely one I'll keep in mind whereas without the trial I would never have considered it. I was excited to do the Santa's Workshop DLC stage. Then when I pressed right on the d-pad to highlight everything to be cleaned and the entire screen lit up... Very much something to zone out with over a number of sessions.
  2. PowerWash Simulator is an instant guilty pleasure. Why did I jump on top of that blue van and hose it until it came up gleaming? What compelled me to start straight into the boggin backyard? Don't know but I'll be back at it. With all the DLC it has (some free!), it's ripe for a Splatoon crossover for you to go in and hose down stages between Turf Wars face-offs. I was glad to see Cassette Beasts is less than 1GB. Makes me think they have some sort of idea about optimisation. A game would have to be in a sorry state before I pipe up about frame rate and that kind of performance issue. Load times, I think a lot of games could do better with so I hope it doesn't break the gameplay up too much.
  3. I read it is just delayed from its Oct 10th slot, but it will be in the next Level-5 update vid. I'm happy enough with a delay as long as it doesn't end up cancelled. Funnily enough, Denpa Men has kind of been getting me in the mood for Fantasy Life i. Might open up that part of the calendar for me for FF Pixel Remasters now. EDIT: Nintendo have published a short article on the news page on Switch about this delay. Perhaps they regard it as a big release so that might prevent it disappearing into oblivion.
  4. There's good variety with these—I'm impressed it isn't just four Mario games. Looking at the Powerwash Simulator page, it has some pretty cool looking DLC. I'd just knocked a pair of games off the old backlog but whatever's next will have to be put on hold for a week now. Was just coming to say. Gonna give the Bakeru demo a go while they download. I'll even fire Enter the Gungeon back up for the 100. Cassette Beasts has received various updates, some of which were for performance. So it might be all right now.
  5. Pity. What benefits are there for anyone that joins this club?
  6. Did you speak with lostmario about resuming Mario Kart hosting duties?
  7. Another nice theme. Though I don't have much affinity for it since it's inspired by the DLC.
  8. The players to Arteta when a result doesn't go their way: "we woz robbed, innit, guv "
  9. When I'm not thinking this is a Tiny Toons game I have it mixed up with RPG Time: The Legend of Wright.
  10. On the UK site now too. RRP £35. 10% off if you pre-order. Demo here as well. https://www.nintendo.com/en-gb/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/BAKERU-2626086.html
  11. Good job you held off. Yeah there's several I want to get off Play-Asia so it's nice to see a few gradually make it over here. Fingers crossed that physical may follow.
  12. This has appeared on the Nintendo AU site with a planned release date of 03/09/2024!
  13. Nice one. Had to look it up as it doesn't ring any bells. Wish listed.
  14. Something I will say about FF VII is that even though you are just selecting moves off the menu, it still somehow manages to feel good. If you go for it in one of its current releases (like eShop), it has a speed up option and you can even fully heal whenever you want at no in game cost. You can also disable random encounters if there's a stretch you just want to get from point A to point B. I have Chrono Trigger on DS and Wii VC, and as much as I like gaming on the big screen, DS is easily the way to go. Regarding the additional stuff, one of the extras isn't there in your first file so its nothing to concern yourself with, the monster arena won't blow you away but feel free to dabble in it, however, if you find yourself in the Lost Sanctum doing boring fetch quests... abort immediately and move on with the game! CT is a short game in RPG terms, but there's no need to rush through it either. Enjoy the various settings, the music, talk to the characters you come across. Just go where the game leads you and do the sidequests when you're presented with them towards the end. It's a lovely ride that may surprise you by becoming one of your favourite games, even this long after it first came out. Fully recommend it. You could do both FF VII and CT in less time than Xenoblade. Throw in Golden Sun 3 and you might run it close. You may even be missing/ not appreciating a lot of stuff in life if you haven't played Crisis Core. Not a remake, but reminds me of playing Persona 5 Strikers. I just accepted they'd been on a world saving adventure previously and went along with it.
  15. I still like Mario Golf 64 because it is just a good golf game—something I feel the series has moved away from. I've a preference for first two courses as they provide a normal setting. The other modes are nice inclusions.
  16. +1 for d/c twice. Donut Plains and Rome. Ditto with the city tracks. Always seems to be some corners I never read right.
  17. Lucky ranks normally reset once a day so this is good to see.
  18. I think this is the missing link I needed before BotW. Or improperly since the Switch is the original hardware for it. Unless they've made this from scratch, the Link moveset could be lifted from Link's Awakening and the BotW NES-style prototype. It's still anyone's guess as to what extent he will be playable in this. Yeah and it's not like they've redone the map since the reveal so the similarities remain. Funny when he says "getting around Hyrule can prove challenging" as Zelda jumps down off a clifftop. Enter the steed! That can... only clear small obstacles. At the very least, Zora characters and Zora enemies were in the Oracle games, iirc. Yeah, I'm leaning towards getting something else next month. This'll be evergreen anyway. They can wait for my sale.
  19. I'll highlight the white text if* I'm unable to puzzle it out. 👍Reckon at least one of them is about beating it within three turns, and the first one said something about breakings its shield. Maybe with a higher level team the trials can be steamrolled. You've definitely done a lot of fishing. Think I'm around lvl 10. I used albino bait on a white fish shadow then out of curiosity, normal bait on another, and caught the fish in both instances. Maybe it took longer to reel in with normal bait? Not really sure. Unless the type of bait has some bearing on what the shadow might be, you are probably right enough about sticking with normal. I've only got about two vouchers per area so far, but I haven't replayed any (except the first one now). I'll let you know if the drops don't happen, thanks! I went back to the first cave to see what else is up for grabs. Had to do it twice because I forgot opening the blue chest after the boss boots you back to your island. My lvl 40 party had no bother going beyond the lvl 21 door. I actually got 2J in there, so when I get another I'll spend it on one of the catch events to see if I can get a goldie as you recommend. Have you tried the August ghost area? I might do runs down it and leave the story parked for now to see if I can get all the ghost equipment down there. Needing to top-up your oil kind of puts a different spin on it—even if it was extremely lenient on my first exploration. I wasn't much the wiser after listening to all the old mans long stories but it appears it boils down to running it for drops. *when I'm inevitably unable to puzzle it out, more like.
  20. Don't see a way to check now the event is over. No way was I anywhere near the top—you'd have to be on it full-time. Yeah, I've read there are some "hidden" icons for leaderboard placement. Could be something to go for eventually if it looks like the competition is dropping off because I wouldn't like to devote a week to it and still not get up there. Overall, I'm around 4,400 this week with minimal play. Team battles are still as they were during the event (five teams). Was wondering if it'd revert back to two again. Weekly challenges are back again so you're missing out on those.
  21. Yeah, the wonky way things are worded matches the look of it. I've been on it every day so far but more sparingly than you, @RedShell—around nine hours according to the in-game timer. One evening it gave me two hours of unlimited stamina so I stayed on a bit longer. Wouldn't say I'm addicted but once you're on it, it is quite moreish. Have you had much joy with the fishing event? I did the first stage of it quickly enough but I wasn't getting the required fish at a good rate for stage two so I haven't went back to it. There doesn't seem to be any trick to it but I don't know, maybe you're supposed to use different bait but the descriptions don't exactly spell it out. I've done up to the trials. Didn't score the legendary equipment from it so I'll have to get back in there some time and see about figuring out the requirements... easier said than done with the obtuse wording. Been wondering if it'd be a good idea to revisit the earlier locations to see what goodies are to be had in those higher-level spots. Still just using the first eight Denpa Men I caught, no breeding yet and haven't even used a boost item. I've hit the lvl 40 cap (meaning no exp from the trials, boo!) so my next objective, if/when I can afford it, is to limit break them again once their happiness is maxed. The sailing bit was the only part so far I tackled over two days since it was a large open area to explore. If I'd realised where the shrine was, I could probably have pushed on and made it to the healing point in one go. But of course I headed around the map instead of just beelining it due north. Would have saved me using the teleport item (1J!) too. I'd like to spruce up the island if the gold starts to flow a bit more freely as I get deeper into it. Binned some veg as I didn't see the water option at first. At the moment, I'll be content to get through the main adventure (for free) then see if I want to keep at it after that. I saw one of the vendors does items that keeps your plants watered for longer and even forever. These will be good eventual purchases, especially as some I have already are on a 24h timer. The coliseum looks like it'll yield some good equipment too once it opens next month.
