At the mercy of the autosave then. I think I skipped a few things when I ran out of red critters, but I surfed around the room again when it was time to leave and didn't spot anything. Is there a bonus for getting everything in each level? End of summer drought.

Was going to get Tinykin and saw there's a demo so I've played it first. Thanks for putting it back on my radar—it's good fun. See what you mean about it being a platformer. The demo let's you play the first level. I've two questions: - Can you do a manual save? - Do you get the ability to "scan" for nectar (gold)? I got almost all of it in the first level and could do with some in-game help to sniff out the last 20ish pieces.

Good point. This is going back a while, but I would have got it at launch or thereabouts, and to my knowledge it was not second hand. There must have been a site or shop selling the game and GameCube separately as new. Not the "game" I would have been expecting to be worth anything. Here's hoping the price keeps rising.

Yeah definitely could have done with it on the SNES too. It was pretty unforgiving as a nipper!
-
Hmm. Seems there's a third option because mine is a second disc inside Colosseum and I don't/ didn't get the GameCube bundle.
-
I have the one that came with Colosseum. Is it worth anything yet?

I like how the modern version of Flashback does rewind. Depending on the difficulty, you get a certain amount of total rewind time to fall back on (on easy and normal it is per level, on hard it is for the entire game), and when you die it puts you straight into rewind mode with the option to go back to your last save. Very handy as it provides a way to keep going through clumsy deaths.

Worth saying as I wouldn't have known otherwise. Is it necessary to have played the first? It looks good and the "magnetic gameplay" puzzles could be fun but it has metroidvania as a bullet point which gives me pause. As far as I remember, Hogwarts Legacy is meant to be good as long as you can deal with how it was reworked for the Switch.

Dragon Quest Monsters: The Dark Prince (1st December 2023)

Handy to have it all in one package. I might have caved in and used the levelling DLC at a few points. Didn't it perform pretty decent on Switch? Thought it did over a million anyway. It's the Cryptic Kid! Let's brawl! I'm kind of saddened there's no spin-off like this or Treasures this winter, but DQ III will fill the gap handsomely. -
Bakeru (Totally not Goemon) (3rd September 2024)

Thanks for sharing your impressions, @RedShell. Good to hear about that extra collectable (sounds devious) and the abilities. Nice, too, that you don't have to finish levels when revisiting them to "scoop" up secrets. Re: trivia #150—better out than in. -
The indie Pikmin? Thanks for the heads up. Is it long? My gold points will start expiring from next month onwards again so it's probably as good a game as any to spend them on. Don't suppose you know if there's a site that tracks or lists all the NSO icons/backgrounds/frames that have been offered? I've been whittling away at the four Mario games icons that have been on constant rotation this past while but still haven't completed the collections.

There are five Link's Awakening art icons. -
Agree with you about it being strangely relaxing. It was a game I thought I'd put on for less than a minute and be done with but that wasn't the case as I went through some of the career mode. I like how you can check your progress with each individual object/ part to be cleaned. When I realised it's generous enough about counting something as done (thought you'd have to pixel-hunt the last specks of dirt), it became quite soothing to go back to during the trial period. Won't be buying it right away, but it's definitely one I'll keep in mind whereas without the trial I would never have considered it. I was excited to do the Santa's Workshop DLC stage. Then when I pressed right on the d-pad to highlight everything to be cleaned and the entire screen lit up... Very much something to zone out with over a number of sessions.

PowerWash Simulator is an instant guilty pleasure. Why did I jump on top of that blue van and hose it until it came up gleaming? What compelled me to start straight into the boggin backyard? Don't know but I'll be back at it. With all the DLC it has (some free!), it's ripe for a Splatoon crossover for you to go in and hose down stages between Turf Wars face-offs. I was glad to see Cassette Beasts is less than 1GB. Makes me think they have some sort of idea about optimisation. A game would have to be in a sorry state before I pipe up about frame rate and that kind of performance issue. Load times, I think a lot of games could do better with so I hope it doesn't break the gameplay up too much.

Fantasy Life i: The Girl Who Steals Time
darksnowman replied to darksnowman's topic in Nintendo Gaming
I read it is just delayed from its Oct 10th slot, but it will be in the next Level-5 update vid. I'm happy enough with a delay as long as it doesn't end up cancelled. Funnily enough, Denpa Men has kind of been getting me in the mood for Fantasy Life i. Might open up that part of the calendar for me for FF Pixel Remasters now. EDIT: Nintendo have published a short article on the news page on Switch about this delay. Perhaps they regard it as a big release so that might prevent it disappearing into oblivion. -
There's good variety with these—I'm impressed it isn't just four Mario games. Looking at the Powerwash Simulator page, it has some pretty cool looking DLC. I'd just knocked a pair of games off the old backlog but whatever's next will have to be put on hold for a week now. Was just coming to say. Gonna give the Bakeru demo a go while they download. I'll even fire Enter the Gungeon back up for the 100. Cassette Beasts has received various updates, some of which were for performance. So it might be all right now.

Thanks for the info!

Pity. What benefits are there for anyone that joins this club?

Did you speak with lostmario about resuming Mario Kart hosting duties?

Another nice theme. Though I don't have much affinity for it since it's inspired by the DLC.

When I'm not thinking this is a Tiny Toons game I have it mixed up with RPG Time: The Legend of Wright. -
