  1. Is that so? First I've noticed it or I'd have been keeping an eye on it. The point it went from inspired by to being a straight-up ripoff has long since passed. Did they have their blinkers on so much that they didn't realise??
  2. I seldom watch IGN videos nowadays but I've just watched two. Give this a watch if you want to be awared on the top 10 Dreamcast games of all time according to them. When I saw number 2 I was scratching my head as to what they were putting at number 1. It's an obvious enough pick when you see it.
  3. Would go down in folklore if he's involved with a fast throw-in or something like Arteta the other week. Or a free-kick out of the Gary Mac playbook.
  4. Hunger levels of that Liverpool team last night was something else. That win was coming one way or another... not that Southampton showed much ambition after their goal that VAR should have intervened in... Thought Soton would be up for it but getting 40 points seems to be enough for them. Steve Gerrard better have his team off the beach and revved up on the final day. McAllister... Coutinho... Ings... any other ex-Pool players on the Villa books? Glad there's so much riding on the final day. Would be incredible if the Gers do it tonight. From down the leagues to Europa League final. Great achievement. Tonight could be one set of German opposition too far for them and heat will probably also be a factor what with it being in Seville. As long as the best team win and it's not marred by stupid refereeing decisions.
  5. If they do Saudi flag coloured joy-cons that don't drift...
  6. https://store.nintendo.co.uk/en_gb/fire-emblem-warriors-three-hopes.html Pre-order goodies for those who buy directly from Nintendo. (Subject to availability.)
  7. Nine changes for the Pool for the match at The Dell tonight. Man City will be licking their lips. This could be it.
  8. I haven't got far enough to need to worry about min-maxing. I just ordered whatever food and drink I fancied having and if the characters shot beams of light out of their mouths all the better.
  9. Watched their vid last year and it was packed with games I liked the look of. Could do with going back through it to see how many of them are on eShop.
  10. https://www.fallguys.com/en-US/news/fall-guys-is-going-free-on-june-21-launching-on-playstation-nintendo-switch-xbox-and-the-epic-games-store Answers some of my questions.
  11. It's taken all this time for them to make it free? I was actually willing to buy it as a full game so I'll be happy to try it for nothing. Spose that means battle pass, then? Any news on that?
  12. And then what? Glad to hear it! I think it's a game anyone could enjoy.
  13. The sheer quantity of games available on Switch is incredible. I don't care what anyone says, you've got all you can eat on this thing. Any vague semblance of a "to play" list I have is frequently interrupted* by something going on sale on the eShop. I've reached a point now where I try to buy stuff that I intend to play immediately because, say it with me, there's always another sale coming. It wasn't easy getting here. Well, I grabbed the Child of Light / Valient Hearts double-pack (unfortunately the physical edition is just a code in a box) and Scott Pilgrim in the recent sale. Child of Light got bumped up my priority list after I saw the main character was added to Bloodstained which still remains in to-buy status. Finished Child of Light at the weekend and it was an excellent little game. It's a short, 2D side-scrolling turn-based RPG with a lovely soundtrack provided by Coeur de Pirate. I didn't realise it to begin with, but I'd heard some of the music before and actually almost went to see Coeur de Pirate years ago. Small world. For anyone who hasn't played it, CoL is in a fairytale setting with dialogue coming in rhyme. If I'd written this post after finishing the game it might have been in rhyming couplets. You can equip three pieces of "materia" per character and can combine pieces in a basic, neat and tidy crafting system if you want something more potent. When you level up, you can unlock abilities/extra stat ups/passive skills on a chart. It's one of those rare skill charts where you always feel like you're getting something useful no matter what direction you go in. A lot of characters join you along the way and they're all genuinely useful, viable and unique in what they bring to battle, which plays out with an "ATB" bar and is cool too as it keeps you engaged and paying attention. What's on offer here is smalltime but really well done. And for anyone who has played it, why have you not been recommending this game more??? I found it to be pretty nice from the off with an indie feel but it didn't strike me as anything particularly outstanding. Then after a while, something changed and I started to feel the weight of this short journey. I became invested in it. I was bummed when a certain character left as I'd been making good use of them but party members continue to join you after that and you've no time to look back. It's not a difficult game but you feel like you're overcoming obstacles and setbacks, and by the final third you need to see it out. Top stuff. Improvements? Kind of wish there was a map for individual areas. Locations aren't massive though it would have been useful to pull up a map screen to check the layout. There are a handful of quests (including a trading sidequest!) which are chucked on the inventory page. A dedicated quest section wouldn't have gone amiss, just to keep things separate. The soundtrack, lovely as it is, could have done with more tracks as the loooong credits concluded in silence having run out of music to accompany it. I've been off RPGs recently and Child of Light was just the tonic I needed. It's concise and expertly crafted. Buy it in the next sale and you won't be disappointed. *get it?!?!
  14. Will be so good if Stevie G PRODUCES a slip up on the final day. Okay, Yoda.
  15. Almost bought the Somnium Files last week after finishing 13 Sentinels as it was on sale. Still need to check out the demo!
  16. I did my time with the Marvel Action Hour but have no experience with any of the Ultimate Alliance games... or pretty much any Marvel games. I want to believe. Watched the last episode yesterday evening and yes to the final reveal. Same thought, haha. All in all, I thought it was a decent series. I like that the episode count is so low so there's no time for these Disney series to outstay their welcome.
  17. Quid extra on Switch. https://www.nintendo.co.uk/Games/Nintendo-Switch-download-software/Eiyuden-Chronicle-Rising-2201605.html With the timing, I thought this thread was for the Eiyuden Chronicle game coming out this week.
  18. Been keeping tabs on this. It looks pretty nice. Apparently, it can be heavy going with the sidequests but as it's only a 15-hour game I think I will be able to deal.
  19. Some nice looking stuff there that I'll be sure to look out for when they... go on sale. Thought Soundfall was out already as I'm sure I've seen that somewhere online and I'm usually seeing games for the first time in these showcases. Mentioning Australia at the beginning had me primed for Sports Story. Don't need it at the mo so they can take all the time they need.
  20. @Sméagol The Centennial Case: A Shijima Story got review scores of 8/9/8/8 in Famitsu so it seems to have turned out to be pretty decent!
  21. https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-61383672 Got this article texted through so it looks like the news is going to be out there in the mainstream to make sure Santa knows what to deliver next year. There's more at the link, including a screenshot of Fifa International Soccer. Classic. Wonder if I can sell that cartridge after this and retire off it.
