  1. I'm not too sure, the majority of me agrees with you, but there's a part of me that thinks it's quite fitting... Miyamoto said that with the Wii remote they wanted to reduce the number of buttons on the game controller because they felt it intimidated people from gaming. The Wii then sold like hot-cakes. Move on to the WiiU and the controller is again full of buttons and is (in Nintendo's mindset) intimidating again. It then sells like shite. So then they think this: "Mobile/tablet gaming is thriving. They're a touch interface. It's not intimidating because it's a clean surface free of buttons and the touch-buttons are only there when needed... let's do that." It just fits Nintendo and their way of thinking as of late. The more I look at the patent and the more I think about it, the more I think it's going to be a hybrid. That it'll have a console but you will take the controller with you as a handheld too, it adds up... I can't see why they'd do basically the WiiU all over again just with a smaller more sleek looking controller. That you can take it anywhere will be it's hook. Otherwise, what's the point?!
  2. I'm with you on your feelings towards it. I don't like the idea of your hands taking up screen space, I think it'll dampen immersion, not enhance it. The big thing though for me is that with it having a vastly different input method to competitor controllers (dependant on additional programming for touch buttons etc), 3rd Parties will shun the thing once again.
  3. I've not cleared my backlog which consists of The Witcher, Bloodborne, Tearaway and Batman so I can't vote for them... Still, even with me not having played them, I'm not 100% certain they'd have knocked this bad-boy off the top of the list: Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate If we're to do a list of games we've played I can only do the following: 1. MH4U 2. CoD BO3 3. Battlefront 4. Splatoon Although I imagine if I had played the games in my backlog it'd be a different list (which is a bit unfair on those games).
  4. I already have it on PS4 so I'll not be picking it up. I would've done though if it came out when the others did.
  5. If Sony sort out the analogue sticks; too loose, poor feel on the thumb (need thumb protectors) and placement on the pad (I prefer the placement of MS's and actually Nintendo's), they'd have the best pad there is. Also, I find the analogue triggers a little too short on length, sometimes my fingers slip off. I'd rather have a smaller D-Pad and smaller buttons, as well as a smaller grouping of the buttons, so that the analogues could both be raised... similar to the Gamepad's. If the Gamepad lost the screen, thus reducing in size, got analogue triggers and was moulded like the GC pad (but keeping the exact same positioning and grouping of analogues and face buttons), it'd be perfect! Obviously this is all going to be different for people as everyone's hands are different.
  6. I'll tell you when we're next playing Splatoon together... oh wait. Hehe
  7. I can see why it won best shooter, although it's not in my opinion, but I don't think it deserves best multiplayer when it's so restrictive with what you can do with friends, including not being able to chat to them. Still, the core gameplay is fantastic!
  8. It still sounds like he thinks they're too busy still playing the Wii to me...
  9. Well I've put a few hours into this now and after getting used to the maps and the boost-movement I'm starting to really enjoy it. I'd say it's the best CoD since MW3, which I'd say is when the series started going downhill but I still really enjoyed that game. I'm maybe only half way through the first prestige so I haven't unlocked everything but there doesn't seem to be anything too overpowered and weapon & perk balance seems very good... probably the most balanced in any CoD post MW! The Specialists are alright but sometimes you get unlucky in that you're on a streak and then you get one-shotted which is a bugger, but still, you get these bonuses too and can wreck others' streaks so it balances out I guess. I'm having loads of fun with it overall (only played the multiplayer) and will sink more time into it... I reckon we'd have a blast if a few of us got online together, set up an N-E Clan... but with Battlefront covering most people's need for a shooter I guess it's not really a must-have. @Hero\-of\-Time @Blade @dazzybee if you get tired with Battlefront I would recommend you consider this!
  10. I find it funny how he thinks people aren't buying the WiiU because everyone still plays on their Wii.
  11. Given my backlog and games we already know enough of, I'd like to see RIME.
  12. I'm fairly certain they couldn't do it. They're incapable... or perhaps the console itself is.
  13. I agree wholeheartedly. It definitely could have been the best shooter this year, but wow they ballsed that up!
  14. I'd like to see a little action from Zelda, so we can see how the gameplay is and if it's changed/advanced at all. A decent trailer would be nice too. That's it from Nintendo. I don't think they could do/are doing anything else that will excite me about the WiiU.
  15. It's a good game but it's not even the best shooter this year in my eyes.
  16. Splatoon is ok for a quick session but it's far too annoying for long play sessions. It's such a shame there are things holding it back from being as good as it could be!
  17. I game when I can be arsed/when I fancy gaming and prioritise many things above it. I can't be bothered delving into a big world and being absorbed into a game at the moment which is why I've a big back-log to play through. I still enjoy multiplayer gaming at the mo though and will stick something on when I can be bothered (Battlefront - albeit I've not been on for a week).
  18. Fuck me, that was one video... that ever only happened once... how's it obligatory?! Haha
  19. I agree @Emasher, I don't see why people find it so hard to just say so. It's not like you're killing their puppy or something, you're just being polite. I spent the weekend in Wales for my girlfriend's mum's birthday. Luckily I'd already met everyone that was there so there were no nerves about meeting people. I had a great time and get on with them all really well... good times! ...also, you know you're loved up when you change your Facebook profile pic to one with the mrs (yep, I have).
  20. It's like an arcadey version of Battlefield but with Star Wars skins. It plays kind of an inbetween of Battlefield and CoD. Although it has a dedicated air battle mode which is everything Star Fox Zero wishes it could be! If you're not a multiplayer FPS fan it may not be for you.
  21. If the WiiU had party chat and the big Third Party games of course I wouldn't have bought a PS4! Party chat is the biggest thing for me though, not being able to talk to your friends on the WiiU is criminal!
  22. You may see me on this weekend but it won't actually be me, it's my flatmate. I'm away this weekend so if you send any invites and they don't get accepted, that'll be why. Although he may well join in, he knows @Blade and will happily take the piss out of me with you guys. Haha
