  1. Been with my girlfriend 5 months now. It's a funny one because as well as it feeling like it's flown by, it also feels like I've known her forever. I was buzzing at Xmas when she got me this, which is hung on my bedroom wall... Yep, Leia and Han Lego figures, albeit with their heads swapped out for custom made mine and my mrs'. Haha
  2. WiiU with proper online... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
  3. It'd have to be more money than anyone has put up ever before though if the architechture of the hardware is too different than the other consoles. If the architechture was similar than 3rd Parties wouldn't have any issues porting as the cost would be the bare minimum.
  4. This is the truth of the matter. They've got to offset the cost of creating a new engine or heavily modifying their engine to get it to run on the NX, as well as the cost in manpower in doing so, against the money they'll make back on projected sales on the Nintendo system, which is near enough guaranteed to be a fraction of the sales on other consoles.
  5. So on the Xbox One, how do you get into a game online with your party?! I can't see any options to create a party and then search for a game.
  6. I must admit, I've hardly played this so far. My flatmate has played way more on it than I have, haha. I've been getting my multiplayer FPS fix from CoD BO3.
  7. This sounds like a good bet to be honest, it'd not surprise me if it was the case. If you could cross-play between the two systems online it'd be a perfect fit for the east/west markets.
  8. I'd not have a screen. It's handy, but not needed.
  9. I do think that is my next preferred layout @Hero\-of\-Time. The reason I prefer the right analogue over the buttons is that it's a more natural place for your thumb to be positioned and so it feels better when using the analogue. Buttons are just simple presses. Your thumb need only move to them briefly, for a short tap. Whereas analogue use can be for prolonged periods of time (I appreciate you sometimes hold and repeatedly press buttons, but I feel these instances are on fewer occasion than the general use of the analogue stick). So for this reason I prefer snapping to the lower position for button presses and having my thumb in the natural position on the analogue for higher fidelity of control. I remember first seeing the position of the analogue and thinking "I like that" but also thinking that I may have to get used to it, but when I picked it up it felt more natural a position than any controller prior and I immediately preferred it.
  10. Haha, it's the best place for me On any game where your thumb remains on the analogue most of the time, ie; shooters, I find it the best fit! I'd much prefer it there for any game really as long as the spacing of the buttons is done correctly, as I posted above.
  11. What I'd like is simply the Pro Controller shape and layout. It's face buttons to be sized and spaced the same as they are on the Gamepad (they're too far from the analogue stick on the Pro Controller for my liking but they're positioned perfectly on the Gamepad). The triggers to be analogue, with the Gamecube pad's digital "click" button at the bottom of the trigger press. Throw in gyro controls and it'd be the perfect controller for me! Rumble, USB charge slot and a jack for a headset etc to be in of course too.
  12. I don't think they'll do a hybrid, although a part of me does, but I do think it's the best thing for them to do. A decent enough portable unit with a middle-ground home unit. It wouldn't have to be too expensive would it? ...because let's face it, unless they man-up and compete with Sony & MS and make an absolute beast of a machine that has similar architechture to the other consoles but way more powerful, yet is underpriced so it sells at a big loss, their home consoles sales will just keep declining dramatically! Hell, handheld sales are declining too, the market-share is being eaten by mobile/tablet gaming. I can only see sales declining here too. They've already merged their handheld/home dev teams... instead of creating 2 versions of 1 game (1 home & 1 handheld) as they would do, they could create 1 version of the game that would run on the two hybrid units. They'd save on dev costs. I just think a hybrid is more appealing than two separate consoles and so has a better chance of sales growth. I know they shot it down but it's not like they'd come out and say "Yes, it's a hybrid." prior to them being ready to announce it. Still, like you say, they won't do it... and I may well be completely wrong and they'll turn it all around... but I just don't see how. What can you see them doing? How do you think they'll approach next gen and what would you like to see from them?
  13. This is why I think having a hybrid is better than having a dedicated handheld system and dedicated home system. You can still produce those different type of games but advertise them accordingly, as I say below. I think they'd use a cartridge based format for the games which could go in both the home unit and the handheld. So the thing with a hybrid would mean that you produce one game and not two versions of the same game as you would with separate handheld and home consoles. It should be positioned as a second console... but second in that it'd be your primary handheld too, if that makes sense. If it's the right price it'll sell. I think this would get the best out of Nintendo as developers too as they'd not be having to switch focus from one machine to another.
  14. Why do you think it'd do more damage? This is one of the big reasons why I think it makes sense. But Serebii, what's to stop them producing handheld types games, with the mindset that these will push the portability aspect of it, as well as producing the home console titles with the mindset that these will push the home console aspect of it? There's nothing to say they can't do that. You just advertise each type of game differently... a handheld type game; advertise people playing on the go. A home console type game; advertise people playing at home on the TV. You just have the added bonus of playing the handheld type on your TV and the home console type on the go, if you want to. Having a hybrid would also position it as a great 2nd console. People would buy an Xbox or Playstation with the NX acting as both their second console and a handheld. I see this as the best way for Nintendo to grow in the market and become competitive again. It positions Nintendo quite well in some respects.
  15. What do people believe/theorise the NX will be then and what are you reasonings and also thoughts as to how it could get Nintendo back in the game? I can't see anything other than a hybrid selling well, or even reasonably, for Nintendo at the moment. As much as I try to think what they could do and how they'd push it, nothing other than it being a hybrid gives me reason that it would sell.
  16. Zelda WiiU RIME No Mans Sky SFV Uncharted 4 Firewatch All I can think of off the top of my head whilst at work.
  17. It depends how expensive it would be... Oculus Rift has just been announced at £500. I can't see Nintendo doing VR for a good while yet, if at all.
  18. Oculus Rift is good, but it's not £500 good.
  19. You know me Ronnie, I took the BT adverts a little too much to heart when I was young... "It's good to talk." :p Without 3rd Parties I just think that Nintendo's fanbase will continue to shrink, I don't think there's a chance of it growing. If Nintendo had all the 3rd Party games that the other consoles had I'd not have bought my PS4... would you still have bought yours? Maybe so, but I've the feeling many people that have bought another console felt their hand has been forced, like I have. That I game almost exclusively on my PS4 now thanks to these 3rd Parties is one of the biggest things turning me away from the NX. If it ends up not getting 3rd Party games I don't think Nintendo have enough titles to justify me buying one of their consoles again... definitely not if their stance on online gaming doesn't change!
  20. I don't mind all too much as long as a standard controller would be the main controller for the system. It needs the same number of buttons and functions as the other consoles' controllers... I'm looking at you, analogue triggers! They just need to have it as in-line with the other consoles as they can to help the 3rd Parties. Hell, it definitely needs a decent Hard Drive! Can't believe I forgot about that!
  21. The OS is the biggest thing for me. If it doesn't have Party Chat, it doesn't get bought. I then hope it's architecture is similar to the other consoles, not just power-wise, but similar build. Also, I'd rather them do a traditional controller in line with other consoles too. This will all allow for easier & less costly porting of 3rd Party games, which Nintendo do need!
  22. I don't see how he doesn't get that the more exposure it gets the better... as long as it's positive (which I don't think you can guarantee with Nintendo anymore).
  23. @Serebii, it basically boils down to this: delivering the info twice is better than delivering it once. Even if only for it being just in case someone misses it the first time.
  24. It's the feeling each give you. Don't underestimate it's importance. With a conference, even though you're not there, you have the feeling you're sharing in the experience because of the crowd reaction. In a Direct you don't have that. You lose that feeling of sharing the experience and that's a problem.
