  1. Why didn't you drink before? I'm getting sexy right now thinking about it.
  2. It was for an art project...you don't know the full concept behind it. I made a cast of my face earlier this year (though I followed the correct precautions, and made a mould from my actual skin/face in a plasticy substance used by dentists, THEN covered my face in plaster), but that wasn't going to just be my piece.
  3. I have blue eyes. But not strikingly blue. Which is a shame. To be honest, I don't think there are unnattractive eye colours.
  4. Why has no one mentioned this game to me before? I'm already shaking in my boots in anticipation.
  5. Adding to the illness, I took the day off college too, I had a splitting headache this morning, and now I feel a cold/sniffles/life threatening FLU coming on.
  6. Yeah, but stoning women for adultery (and other such heinous crimes) is still wrong, doesn't matter is you slap the word "culture" or "religion" on top of it or not.
  7. Really good. And once the whole shebang becomes clear, it makes you want to go back and wonder if Esther was always like that in the earlier parts of the book. I like how the writing style changes at various points too. The ending is very affecting, when you factor in that Sylvia Plath killed herself a month after this was first published. (That's not a spoiler by the way) 9/10
  8. I didn't even think of the DeePees...I kinda see where you're coming from though. Though DeePees are way more interesting.
  9. My mum's side of the family always seem to have little golliwog dolls in their houses. Not out of any racial blah blah, but because they grew up in South Africa, and they say they kept the dolls in remembrance, both good and bad. Something like that. My aunt managed to track down an original copy of the now out of print; But then she's crazy.
  10. Yeah, Set The Fire To The Third Bar is far and away the best on that album. I always quite liked Open Your Eyes too though. --- Giving My Maudlin Career by Camera Obscura a good listen, it's very nice, very satisfying, kinda mellow but big band-y whilst having pop sensibilites? I'm just talking crap. But whoever the singer is has a lovely voice. --- Also, I love Shakira's new album. It's only 9 tracks long, the other 3 being just spanish versions of the previous tracks, which feels so hilarious. It's not up to the standard of Laundry Service, but It's fast and dancey and more entertaining than Oral Fixation /Fijacion.
  11. Although...Reach Out is far from a Duff classic, if we all stop lying to each other. The sample is tired, and the song flimsy. With Love is up there with Stranger, Come Clean (2005 Mix), Our Lips Our Sealed, So Yesterday, Wake Up etc. So underrated. / My guilty pleasure.
  12. Was alright. My project being assessed at college was awful...the ideas I explored with my theme ("attract/repel") were (not bragging :p) really well though out and interesting, but the final piece was rubbish, as I'd finished with the ideas and resolved it all mentally way before we had to construct said pieces. Won't find out my marl till Thursday, but the tutors mentioned at the end that some people obviously had good ideas with flawed execution in the pieces, so I'm glad they recognised thta in mine (I assume they were talking about mine). My all day life drawing was alright. Nothing wrong with it, but not very interesting. I tried to "draw for sculpture", but it just ended up a bit grey. I hate oil bars/pastels/oil based anything (except paints). Then went back to a girl from my course's house with some others for a joke. Had macaroni, played with hamsters, came home. Listening to Shakira's new album.

    Gym?

I say run, but I really mean jog for spurts, then walk a bit, then jog some more. About half an hour/however long it took to encircle the big park behind my house.
  14. My mac is now back up and running. Match 4 will be up tomorrow.

    Gym?

I went on a run tonight, as I hate my body and generally how I feel like the ugliest person in most rooms I'm in. It just gave me a massive headache.
  16. I gave them a cursory listen a while back after reading a Pitchfork review, and liked what I heard, but you've reminded me that I intended to listen properly, as I liked.
  17. I Know You're Married, But I've Got Feelings Too by Martha Wainwright is pretty awesome...don't have/never heard the self-titled one.
  18. The second is obviously best. Not just because the McFarlane cover does nothing but look like a manip of one of his old Spidey pics;
  19. The twins will stay for a while, as they're "known". People know about them and idiots will vote for them. I preferred Same Difference. At least they were polite and only wanted to spread love and joy. Surprised about Rachel, but then...I kinda hate every contestant this year, with carying degrees of dislike. Kandy Rain were obviously gonna go first. Not family friendly enough, no sob story.
  20. Saw a Pedro Almodovar double-bill of Broken Embraces (2009) and All About My Mother (1999) Loved seeing Broken Embraces again, nice to see it knowing how the pieces of the story fit together (for whatever reason I was confused watching it the first time until about half way through). 8/10 Love the references to Women on The Verge Of A Nervous Breakdown. All About My Mother is my favourite Almodovar film, sadder and less frivolous than his others, but really is pretty saddening with the exception of a very funny Antonia San Juan. It seems quite unimitable as well, in subject matter and treatment. The friend I was with cried in AAMM, and if I were to cry, it would be to that. But not really. 9/10
  21. I like the first cover (saw it the other day), kinda has that 70's/80's record cover feel. But I doubt that the cover and what she says will be how the music actually sounds. I'ma bet it'll be just catchy pop stuff again. But we'll see.
  22. Last night felt so great. Meant to be going to see Micachu and The Invisible but there no tickets left, so we said our farewells to the big guy from the Invisible who was outside having a fag and sat in Rush (cheapest bar around) for an hour or so. This was like...7pm, so it was empty. Eventually went to meet old school friend and his new girlfriend at the Edinburgh Uni student union bar place, and that was nice. Meet people who knew people I knew blah blah connections fun was had. Then queued to get into the big night at the main student union and pointlessly paid 3 quid to get in, then left 10 minutes later to join another group of friends on their endeavours. All the while dressed in shorts and a hoodie...not exactly clothes for going out clubbing. but I dealt. Had far too much fun with this one girl on my course who appeared out of nowhere (wasn't out with us) but tumbled down the stairs and into reality in one club. I love her so much, unbeleivably hilariously dumb (but in a good way). She convinced me to dance on the "stage", but we were kicked off. But yeah. I walked home, distressingly sober. I had 5x Vodka Cokes 2x Strongbow and a lemonade vodka thing, and felt exactly the same, Damn having a big chinese before going out. Going for an arty farty cinema trip in a min. Then have to finish fucking vis com project...it's so dire.
  23. Presumably in harsh poverty somewhere in Africa?
