Silent Hill + Bloober Team = winner?
CrowingJoe79 replied to CrowingJoe79's topic in General Gaming Discussion
I was worried that if Bloober Team got to work on Silent Hill, that they would omit the combat mechanics in favour of simply exploring the environment, and running from threats. Because I don't like games where you cannot fight back with any weapons. But I think Clock Tower is an example of a game that gets the idea of evasion mostly right... -
Well... We will see.

What are various series' lowest points?

Actually, a lot of fans like that game from the early 2000s. The same with Dead Aim. It's not quite as detested. -

RE6 was trash. You know? Capcom tried to rip off Gears of War 3 with that game. They did a lot of spin off titles that are stinkers as well. Namely Umbrella Corps and Operation Raccoon City. It's a wonder Capcom even published those games in the first instance. They were absolutely awful... Rather than doing a proper PS5 co-op RE game or something, they tack on these ridiculous non canon modes into the mainline games. Like none of it is even good. It's practically lazy to not do proper storylines for these minor characters. So I think that 2012 was a really bad year for the company. -
Resident Evil: Capcom are copycats... ;)

Thank you for the link. I think something is going on tomorrow. Capcom occasionally has updates to provide, and one for RE8 could be in the pipeline next. -
I quite like Song of Horror. It's a PS4 horror game that has fixed camera angles. I just can't see Capcom ever doing a game like that ever again. But I think third person is better anyway. Although I wouldn't mind if Capcom decided to become nostalgic for it again.

Finally. My proof! Note that when I play a clip on YouTube though, it's rather noisy. That's because I should have turned down the sound. But meh. You have been warned... I talk quite a bit about games Capcom had taken ideas from, in the past, around the very time those aforementioned games were released.

General Gaming Sales/Charts Discussion

The remake is awful, though. It doesn't look nor play like the original game. There's clipping issues, a linear gameplay style, and no real exploration of the city, despite what Capcom said. Like, I think you just go to a toy store and a doughnut shop. In the original, you went to so many more places. And they were actually places you could walk inside. They weren't just scenery. -
I was actually so bored a few weeks ago, that I played Resident Evil 6 as Chris. And while I think it's disgraceful to the franchise overall, it's still a pretty kick arse game. That is, if you enjoy shooting up everything. I wonder what's going with the DLC for Resident Evil Village, because Capcom hasn't had any updates to provide us since June. Not that the game is all that brilliant anyway. They're probably going to do a Lady Dimitrescu side story or something, as fans got very little of her in the main game, because when Capcom was heavily promoting her to the simps through the trailers that inspired those memes about her, nobody knew that she was just a glorified side villain. You know?

The remake of Resident Evil 3 is still selling massive amounts of copies. The same with the second remake, which I am not particularly fussy about either. I think that game is terrible. If Capcom were intending to make a mockery of the original game, then they certainly succeeded. -

Last week, my mother suffered a heart attack, brought on by near renal failure. I think she is improving, but I only found out on Sunday night that she was hospitalised. You can imagine I was very agitated that nobody had informed me sooner.

Well, I'd be lying if I said I wanted anybody else other than Team Silent. Of course, they're no longer with Konami. They are working on a new horror game, though, which I hope will have combat involved. I hate games where you run like a wimp. And you have to hide, as there's no weapons. You know? Like in Song of Horror or Clock Tower.

I see it as being the very last Silent Hill game. So whenever I come across any hearsay online from people claiming to be insiders, then nothing is announced afterwards, it actively bothers me. The franchise is so beloved by people. Even those who generally hate horror games, truly think Silent Hill 2 is a masterpiece. It's art. It's beautiful. It's grim. All in equal measures. I don't even want to logistically count that handheld one, or P.T. (which was just a demo for a cancelled game) as being the final games, as they don't feel like mainline entries. So can I just stand by what I said? I can't see the series coming back. So, um. Post your memories of the franchise down below, and... I'LL SEE YOU ALL IN HELL! Foo ken keys.

So I just seen Scream (aka Scream 5) on a site, I better not mention here. What a GARBAGE repeat, and it's not even very entertaining or original either. Wes Craven, you deserve so much better. RIP, good sir.

KONAMI - What the hell are they doing!?
CrowingJoe79 replied to RedShell's topic in General Gaming Discussion
Then please tell Konami to make a proper game in the Silent Hill franchise again, since Capcom ripped off P.T. for their recent RE sequels, created in first person, and they need to show them who the boss is here. Did you see the house with the dolls in RE8? Yeah. I wonder what that segment was supposed to be 'paying homage' to. In all seriousness, it has been forever since Konami gave a damn about the series, so expect everybody to start posting the hearsay again real soon, because I reckon that's the only thing keeping the name "alive" these days! -

But Silent Hill. I'm waiting for you. In my special place! -
Where are you, RE8 DLC? Seriously. It's been about 6 months since E3, Capcom. We are all waiting patiently... I haven't actually played any other games this year. But that has had me interested for a while, because it could be about Chris investigating why bioweapons were sent to RE8's titular village. And I'd like to know if Ethan survived that blast. He is supposedly the guy in the epilogue, who you see walking by himself near a car, but he's not even clearly shown. Some people did something with the camera to identify him, and they noticed Capcom actually decided to give the guy a face!

Now, this I remember. The last boss battle with the Joker wasn't that hard! I think the hardest level was against the Penguin.
-
So... I reckon Resident Evil Village will win the 2021 Game of the Year tonight. Would you like that to happen? Lady Dimitrescu counts on it.
-
So did anybody see the new RE movie?

This came the day after Tokyo Game Show ended. All of these, "the series is getting revived" rumours have all been the same. Just wait until Konami announces something. Should they confirm anything at all. -
Technically, Ghostbusters was a number one film in both 1984 and 2020. Last year, when most cinemas were closed because of Covid, the movie was very successful in the drive-in theaters. That's a very rare feat...

I prefer the Statue of Liberty over the tall, sailor, marshmallow man. It's a bit sad to see the twin towers showing up in famous films, due to what happened back in 2001. But we will never forget!
