  1. Some insiders said recently that they don't think the rumours are genuine. Nonetheless, Dusk Golem is often right when it comes to what he reveals. So it's kind of a pity that certain users online accuse him of being inaccurate, or not one to be trusted, when the guy has been spot on before about a lot of things. His track record is relatively fine, really.
  2. Naughty Dog get a lot of guff from people, who say they make movie games. Honestly. They haven't let me down. Their games are stunning to play and even to look at. I actually think (and I hate to say it), they did a better job than Capcom has over the past several years. Although maybe comparing these two different companies in an apples and oranges kind of way is peculiar. Not that Capcom is bad all the time, but they have gotten so money hungry.
  3. I think it is fine as it is. It came out in 2002 so it is a bit old now, sure. But I remember when the HD version came out, it made a profit. Even RE4 was fine and did not need to be remade. Although they altered the controls in the ports. The original game is fine, besides being unable to move and shoot concurrently. It didn't really have to be remade, but I know Capcom wanted to make more money, as they know RE4 is the most acclaimed game in the whole franchise, I suppose. The thing with RE9 and the animated movies and all that, is that Leon, Chris and the others are too used to bioweapons. So by having them return in newer entries, the vibes are not particularly of a scary tone. They're now very OP in terms of their heroic efforts, so the games have diminished a lot in terms of the scare factor. Which I dislike.
  4. While the RE2 remake is better than RE3, some aspects to it were a let down. The second scenario for example did feel like a repeat. Both characters aren't supposed to enter the general store next to the petrol pumps, as Leon was supposed to inspect the corpse laying on a road. Then Claire runs out of the diner, at which point Leon shoots a zombie in the head. But actual headshots during the game itself never really proved effective against the undead. There was also cut enemy types, with notable things gone such as the spiders. Again, maybe that doesn't impact the game as such, but the RE1 remake in 2002 only had subtle changes, and everything from the graphics to the new Crimson Head zombies and Lisa Trevor as a Nemesis-esque boss who follows you, was well received at the time. In my opinion, the RE4 remake was really good. But I mean, RE4 has always been an enjoyable action game, if you try to remember that it's not a true survival horror experience you're playing. I do believe RE4 and RE5 caused the eventual downfall of the series, but they are fine action games to judge as such. 5 and 6 are just a lot of fun with co-op, but they aren't remotely as atmospheric as the titles from the PS1 era. And this is because they are too action oriented, and the villagers and whatnot can provide a lot of ammo when you eliminate them, which has always giving me arcade vibes since most of the enemies never use guns.
  5. What about 0, C:V, 5 and the Outbreak games? Do you reckon they will be remade too?
  6. They've milked the series so much, I cannot even be arsed to discuss it anymore. Yeah. It really has reached that stage for me. It's gonna be compared to the 2002 remake too much anyway. People will see all the things Capcom left out and just call it the inferior version, only to wonder why it was made in the first place. But it's obviously just another cash grab because Capcom knows everyone will line up at the buffet table. Although I'm quite sure these are the same gamers who praise the RE2 remake, yet that game doesn't even feel anything like the classic 1998 title, since too much was altered. And they had years to work on getting it right...
  7. Oh, dear God. It will be linear and ruined. Want to see crows as enemies, or something else you remember from the 2002 version? Then you can just go and demand it all as DLC to let Capcom know it sucks! My interest overall? Bomb out of zilch. https://www.dsogaming.com/news/capcom-rumored-to-be-working-on-a-remake-of-the-first-resident-evil-game-on-the-rex-engine/
  8. YEET!
  9. I'm getting through my sixties DVDs, etc. I'm currently watching Dracula Has Risen from the Grave, starring Christopher Lee.
  10. I don't fully agree. It may be able to work. So as long as they aren't giving you ridiculous OP upgrades, I think the idea of just stumbling into trouble in a random place could be effective for the RE universe. Like just imagine if you walked into a hotel and Hunters or Lickers had built a nest, which means there could be a large number of them inside. After all, Days Gone did it perfectly when you were in the woods and came across a cave. Freakers in abundance ran after Deacon. If you were unaware of the entry point being there, it could come as a huge shock if you went in to explore the opening. But I am more concerned about the aspects of the plot going forward. Pseudo vampires is clearly the best Capcom could come up with. Or that giant robot man. Like, really?
  11. What dumbass plot will the game have, do you reckon? Green men from Mars abducting Chris Redfield? At this rate, you cannot trust Capcom to do anything logical.
  12. Oh, yes. Wednesday ought to be fun...
  13. What sites have official historical data?
  14. Can you give users time to correct minor typos, before the 'Last edited by...' line appears?
  15. E3 being dead does suck, but there will be some other event to replace it anyway. Plus, Sony always throws out a State of Play here and there to showcase an upcoming project. You're still gonna get the scoop on the latest gaming updates, no matter where you are.
  16. What do you think of their recent music? I thought some of the songs Roland Orzabel did without Curt Smith after 1990 were still worth a listen to, but it was much more experimental sounding and dark. They were huge in the eighties during the 'new wave' era in the UK. The group were also very successful in the United States, having achieved two number-one hits on Billboard.
  17. Yep. I love these games. They are so great to play, and the story and visuals and gameplay as a whole totally outranks Capcom's recent RE remakes. Yes, even 4.
  18. I look forward to playing the upcoming Alone in the Dark remake in March.

  20. One positive thing I can say is that the site has active forums, because a huge majority of the other sites I know of with forums either have no activity to speak of any more, or the relatively few users on them are morons, like the dafties lurking on this site. https://www.dreamindemon.com/community/threads/more-waffle-than-birds-eye.143166/#post-1598167 I know if I posted on GameFAQs today, I'd be likely to gain a reply. But whether that reply is good or not, depends on that person who is responding.
  21. This free Silent Hill game is available to play, and all you do is go to the store to install it. Tonight, Konami also showed footage of the remake of SH2, but they did not reveal any release date! Let me know what you think of it. Cheers. https://stevivor.com/news/silent-hill-the-short-message-drops-today-is-free-to-play/
  22. Well... FAQs is actually an abbreviation for Frequently Asked Questions. So where the heck did "facts" come from?
  23. Do you know of ResetEra?
  24. It's a pity E3 has been axed after the memories it brought people, but I can see similar events being hosted. Summertime will have a lot of cool shows spread across the landscape of gaming. So one thing ends, something good can replace it.
